not going to read all the salt you typed but I will say this: What if a warrior doesn't have war axe in his opening hand? Huh? what do you think about that?
If you're not going to read other people's posts, why should anyone pay attention to yours?

Instead of starting a new thread, let's discuss it's upcoming nerf here. Fiery war axe is super broken and will still be strong at 3 mana and that nerf must happen or pirate warrior will still dominate the meta and lots of people will quit. Blizzard has confirmed that early game weapons are a problem and mentioned fiery war axe. This is leading to strong speculation that this card is being flagged for a nerf. It's one of the most requested nerfs and one of the most broken OP cards and the main reason pirate warriors are so broken OP.

Not so fast. All the pirate problems go away when Small-Time Buccaneer gets nerfed, and that is a far surer thing than any speculation about weapons.
Don't get me wrong; I do think FWA is a bit much for a Basic card (Warrior's best weapons should come from expansions), but expecting a nerf so close on the heels of Execute is somewhat optimistic.

I never understood why some people have a problem with Fiery War Axe. Sure it's a fantastic tool, but then again all classes have their own fantastic tools in the basic sets. I'm thinking of Savannah Highmane or Flamestrike or Tirion/Truesilver.
To those defending win axe, I will just say that if this card isn't nerfed, you can expect pirate warrior to be the top deck forever. That weapon is the most broken OP card in the game, it will still be good at 3 mana.
That card is being seriously considered for a nerf. The developers are taking another look at cheap weapons. My bets is winaxe gets bumped to 3 mana and is still run in most warriors. Hunters already run eaglehorn bow at 3 mana.
@Ace1a; that's assuming that Pirates don't change, which I think is quite a bit more likely to happen than FWA getting a nerf. One is linked to class identity, one is actively contributing to a problem where neutrals are appealing enough to splash outside of tribals.
I also read through that thread, I didn't see anything confirming it was being seriously considered for a nerf. Personally I don't mind FWA being amazing for the rest of eternity, it's right up there with Frostbolt/Fireball or Backstab/Sap for cards that differentiate the core tools for each class; the one possible nerf I could see is making it unable to attack face... and even then I'm probably still going to say that's highly unlikely. I think what's more likely if they do think cheap weapons are a problem is instead just to print more options to deal with them in the early game.

Articles I suggest every player reads to improve at the game;
Fiery War Axe nerf: can only attack minions. It would still be the best tool for handle the early game. You just can't SMORC with it it anymore. I would say is the more likely thing to happen among blizzard options. This way they don't have give any dust refund, they would put the word end to one of the most uninteractive decks ever, that would otherwise be played until april 2018, keeping the meta stale without incentivating players to play different decks (meaning "buy new exp packs").
One dmg off of Mortal Strike. If you nerf Fiery War Axe the wrong way, any other Warrior deck might have problems, even tho Axe is used mostly to clear minions in control lists.
Any of these nerfs really should have happened during Gadgetzan. Pirate Warrior is still everywhere, but its power level has diminished to the point where I think Blizzard wouldn't care if they're just looking at their side of the statistics.
Axe is the problem. T1 coin Axe follower by bloodsail rider. Turn 3 bloodsail cultist and the taunt for free. Control warrior would lose nothing, cause it only uses FWA to trade. Mortal strike nerf would do nothing, FWA would turn the table upside down
I don't think Pirate Warrior is really a problem anymore. Just tech a Golakka and some taunt or AOE and they won't stand a chance. the tar minions are great at stopping aggro for the cost.
The statistics show that Pirate Warrior is still the most commonly played deck (at least at legend, midrange hunter is slightly more common overall) and the most powerful deck at both Legend and overall (source: http://www.vicioussyndicate.com/vs-data-reaper-report-45/). It may not be as big of a problem as it used to be, but there is still a fairly reasonable argument that something should be tweaked. No major changes are needed, and certainly nothing that would potentially jeapordize the viability of other warrior or other classes that use pirates, but something small like making FWA only target minions would seem like a reasonable change to the deck without really harming any other decks.

Salty dog
Top deck is cheat
2 mana 1/2, has +2 attack when attacking minions.

If they nerf anything from that deck, i think Mortal Strike is the most likely candidate with Kor'kron Elite coming in second.
So far, the most common reasons for Blizzard to nerf a card are these:
-The card is used in too many decks.
-The card has charge.
-The card is a spell card that directly damages the enemys face.

I've no clue what I'm doing...

That'll do, Huffer. That'll do.
Yeah right lets just nerf those stupid minions instead of the weapon that is used in controll warrior.

I think Mortal Strike should be remade, what a waste of a great animation
