Why not? With the new mage Dr 6 Faceless Summoner , I would say that tempo mage is even more viable than before; turn 1 Mana Wrym, turn 2 Apprentice, turn 3 flamewaker, turn 4 water elemental, turn 5 Azure Drake / Ethereal Conjurer, turn 6 Faceless Summoner... magic curve
I'm trying, for the life of me, to figure out why people keep comparing this to arcane intellect. It's a completely different mechanic. This gives you 3 cards you didn't have before and they are all going to be spells which means more fodder for all of the tempo mage shenanigans. Meta defining? No. But very good? In the right deck hell yes. I'll run one, maybe 2, though that might be slow. Will have to tinker with it.
This card looked really strong on the stream today. Clunky in the hand early but between this and the other hand-refilling tools Mage has access to, Mage cycle decks could be really difficult to deal with.
One this and Antonidas and you run out of resources if you are very unlucky.
I prefer run 1 of this card than 2 Conjurer, save 1 deck slot for a cheap alternative, Conjurer is good but die easy and give you only one spell, the discover is better than random but is very hard to get 3 bad spells from mage.
This card is AMAZING just as I expected. It's winning me games all by itself by either giving me enough damage spells for lethal or defensive spells to stay alive until I can win. Love it!

I'm just waiting for the Trollden moment when someone casts this and gets 3 Cabalist's Tome.
You are right, but anyway I think Arcane Intellect is a better spell for Tempo Mage, this one maybe can fit in Value or Reno Mage

After yesterdays stream gonna craft 2 ASAP
As it seemed on stream--a really strong card, and fun to play because you have to improvise a bit.
Anyone got this to work with Flamewaker? Noticed a couple of times that it hasn't set it off.
I've seen it in action today in Tempo Mage, it's really good

I just got a chain of 3 on my single copy of Cabalist's Tome. I've been getting a very large amounts of victories with my Yogg-Saron, Hope's End.
