In an attempt to learn for myself which classes are best (for me) in arena, I have decided on a personal challenge: to play each class 10 times. Further, my choice of hero each will be determined by my current stats for each class. First criterion will be fewest total runs. Next will be worst overall record. Should there still be a tie, I'll compare the best individual run with each class and pick the worse. Finally, if all else fails, I'll pick the one on the left.
SO, with these criteria established, I purchase my next arena run and am greeted by Uther, Anduin, and Malfurion. Total runs with each: 2, 1, 1. Paladin out. Overall record: priest 3-3, druid 4-3. Druid out. Priest it is.
I select Priest, and I am immediately rewarded by a choice between Target Dummy, Mass Dispel, and Lightwell. Yeah, that fills me with confidence...
I'll be posting drafts and match results as I go. I don't often get the opportunity to play, so this challenge may take quite some time. Between forcing myself to play every class, the always helpful comments from this community, and simply playing more and more, hopefully I'll figure out what I'm doing. Cheers!

Old school WoW Mage motto: if you don't end the run with the most damage dealt AND the most deaths, you're not trying hard enough.
Everything other than Rogue, Mage and Pala is out of question, these are clearly the best 3 classes (if played correctly; rogue has a huge potential for misplays related to the heropower).
I like this idea, but I feel like maybe you should wait for the expansion to kick it into full gear.
Hunter, priest, shaman are relatively bad right now, and it may be difficult to learn when not able to compete with all of the rogues, mages, and paladins.
I am excited to get back to the less popular classes and learn them better once I see what additions they will soon get.

That's a good point.
Perhaps a more modest goal of 5 per would be more achievable before the expansion rolls out.
Draft overview: I had a hard time choosing between Museum Curator and Cult Master on pick 2. If only I had known I'd be offered 3 more curators.... All in all not too bad. There were several choices where I was like, "Really? REALLY?" (1 and 27, I'm looking at you), and picks 24 and 25 were cruel to be back to back, but I feel like I can do some damage playing the long game. Definitely going to try and use my hero power where I can to get extra value, though not until mid-game. Here's hoping.

Next expansion might skew results - new cards introduced getting additional weighting by Blizzard could influence classes to perform significantly different then currently. This is important since it might skew your results.
___________
For once I am agreeing with HearthArena without much resistance.
I think the Curator vs Cult Master favored the Curator, generally priest will not have a lot of weenies on the board to make use of the Cult Master.
Almost all other picks feel very obvious. Yes the Shadow word pain would have been nice, but Cultist is too good to pass up especially with the decks low 3-drop count.
Pretty strong deck and good card quality, double Velen's Chosen will make anything you play on T2 very threatening. 3 Curators and a Thoughtsteal gives strong card advantage as well. Only drawback is the lack of any board clear or hard removal.
Match 1: Warlock. Bad opening draw, bad mulligan. Lack of board clear and removal gave me little opportunity to catch up. In hondsight, probably should have kept the Velen's Chosen in my opening draw, even with no 2-drop. 0-1.
Match 2: Rogue. Had Museum Curator and Puddlestomper in hand first turn with coin. Should have played curator. Kicked myself when puddles got backstabbed. Knew it was over when he dropped a 2nd Goblin Auto-Barber on a fresh knife. Sigh. 0-2.
Not going so well so far. Going to try and play my next match during peak-time to minimize the chance of a mismatch. Also going to read up on general priest strategy.

Match 3: Warrior. Looks like opponent is going to bring early pressure when he drops Leper Gnome turn 1, but my mulligan did me good. Coined a curator and almost picked up Majordomo Executus, then thought better of it and took Dark Cultist. Turn 2 opponent SMOrcs with the leper and... armors up. I drop Mad Bomber and kill his gnome... and my curator. Turn 3 opponent... armors up again. I shield my bomber and drop Puddlestomper. From this point on my board position only improves. This will not be a golden bagel run. 1-2.

Old school WoW Mage motto: if you don't end the run with the most damage dealt AND the most deaths, you're not trying hard enough.
I gave up on priest after dumping like 2k gold on it. TBH it felt like a whole tier lower than any other class. Was probably a stupid move to waste gold like that in the first place since the 2 other class options would have been significantly better for me every time, lol.
I tried to play all classes equally and remain infinite since LOE came out, but I couldn’t. I’m only infinite in this meta if I boycott Shaman and Priest. I think playing all classes is a worthy goal and I feel that I gained a lot of experience with Warrior and Hunter. Best of luck to anyone trying the challenge.
Match 4: Mage. I'm really starting to like having a turn 1 Coined curator. Selected Sludge Belcher and resolved to hold on until I could use it to stabilize the board. Watched my opponent misplay several times and gradually wore them down. 2-2.
So I've pulled even for the run so far, but I don't feel confident about it. First two matches I felt significantly outplayed, while the last two matches I've felt were against obviously less experienced players. A win is a win is a win, but I'm keeping expectations tempered.

Hero choice for next run was Shaman, Druid, and Mage. Mage has 2 runs, and Druid has a better record, so I went with Thrall. First choice was mana tide, mind tech, and thunder bluff valiant. After some deliberation I went with mind tech. Next choice has me a bit stuck: Fire Elemental, Hex, and Loot Hoarder. Why can't I pick both of them? Anyway, life intervened before I made my selection, so I thought I'd get some second and third thoughts real quick. I know fire elemental is top tier, but I haven't had true removal in several runs. What do you think? Remember, it's pick 2.

I would have done Thunder Bluff too, but MCT can pull wins too.
As much as I like Elemental (one of the best 6drops), I still think you'd want to pick Hex. Even though the first few picks are about value with arena being minion based, true removal pieces like Hex are really hard to come by, your opponent almost always has at least one big dude and you can always pick up other high tier value minions which are easier to come by later on.

I'm just another one of those. You know, those who do things. Things that need to be done by those that do these things in order to do those things that don't do these things themselves. Has the word 'things' lost meaning to you already?

Arena Leaderboard EU - September 2018: #47 (@7.77 Wins Average)
I think it's fine to include the top 3 classes so he can see the win rate discrepancy between them and the other classes.
I wouldn't be surprised if his Rogue play falls behind other classes because it's not as intuitive as Mage or Paladin and takes some practice.
Either way its good to see what his personal win rates are for each.

I play all classes equally, have been tracking runs like that since tgt came out.
I have almost 30 runs with each class. Priest is indeed my worst.
Also rogue is my best, but warlock comes second, then paladin, and then mage.
Then hunter, warrior, druid, shaman, and priest.
I tried to play all classes equally and remain infinite since LOE came out, but I couldn’t. I’m only infinite in this meta if I boycott Shaman and Priest. Would have went with Thunder Buff Valiant actually for the 1st choice. But you can't go too wrong with MCT.
Yikes 2nd pick and its a beauty. Would take Fire Elemental over Hex.
