So we've got a new patch with an effectively useless addition to the mode and the most serious issues are completely unaddressed. I mean c'mon! >:(
A list of unaddressed issues (feel free to add your own)...
EXCESS TOKENS ON MAXED CHARACTERS!!! (pretty much the one and only issue, but wait..there's more)
No additional rewards for Heroic Mode (a guaranteed 5-10 tokens for a legendary is nice and all, but you can get that in about the same time frame by running the normal mode twice)
Inconsistent task grind: Some heroes higher numbered tasks are over the top (*coughCookiecough*) while others are much easier.
Nothing for heroes who have capped out on their tasks.
Capping out tasks doesn't give enough tokens to max a hero
No rewards for losing PVP Arena and sharks destroy new players killing new recruitment and thereby the mode
It's a mode built on grinding and the Antonidas/Baron/Rag build has no peer in terms of efficiency making the grind even more grindy since you're only ever doing one build.
Some of us want to like it, but it seems like it has already been killed as a priority because it didn't succeed massively right away. (So I guess this is an attitude adjustment issue?)
Others? Dev thoughts (do they even read these things?)
I not spent any money on it and because i WFH i have it idling in the background to remind me how bad life really can be...I managed to get every hero and a good chunk maxed out, am sat on 3k gold and 2 unopened packs from tasks, I imagine am not alone so its interesting the priority is the training hall (which is basically useless to me, besides the new heroes, i like levelling the heroes as it helps you understand how they function + task for them) Seems they trying to get people to "give it a go" while they new to get the moneys off them
The new heroes abilities seemed on paper to be more powerful than ones we currently have too, perhaps they doing what they did with HOTS where a lot of the new heroes were sometimes really OP for first few weeks while they were full price (gold)
But we'll get training grounds!!! (Who actually needs it?)
But to be serious, they said that this patch won't have anything major long time before it arrived.
We'll need to wait a month or two for a mercenaries specific patch. I'll judge if the mode has any hope when Merc focused major patch will get released
Training Grounds seems aimed at the people who don't actually play Mercenaries while the excess coins issue is the #1 issue among those that actually do.
You're missing the bugged treasures. Stuff like hunting party just not proccing, can't remember what else but there's a couple of others.
On the no extra rewards for HC, that's a load of bull, honestly. Normal is about a 13.5% chance of the legendary per each of the three bundles for 10-20 coins; HC was about a 27% chance for each of the three bundles to be legendary, with 20-30 coins per bundle (maybe 15-30? bundles are quite variable), so even before the guaranteed leg buff it was significantly better. With the guaranteed legendary, and a chance from the other two, you're getting more coins on HC unless you're about 4x as fast running normal. And yes, the percentage chance comes entirely from research across multiple bounties and zones. Not respaded the odds since the change, but it literally can't have been a lowered EV on legendary bundles since it was slightly under 1 before. (Making the assumption that you don't have the merc in your party - that tilts it slightly in favour of N, owing to the 1/6 [it appears flat WRT rarity], or 1/3 if you're running just 3 mercs, chance of an extra bundle per run).

Agree, this is the one and only issue
No additional rewards for Heroic Mode (a guaranteed 5-10 tokens for a legendary is nice and all, but you can get that in about the same time frame by running the normal mode twice)
This is a game, not an efficiency contest. If you don't enjoy the actual gameplay, don't do it.
Inconsistent task grind: Some heroes higher numbered tasks are over the top (*coughCookiecough*) while others are much easier.
Somewhat agree about the inconsistency, but see above.
Nothing for heroes who have capped out on their tasks.
Why should there be?
Capping out tasks doesn't give enough tokens to max a hero
Why should it? You can get infinite coins from bounties. Also, Blizzard needs players to have a reason to buy packs.
No rewards for losing PVP Arena and sharks destroy new players killing new recruitment and thereby the mode
Mercenaries is primarily PvE. PvP should never be the way to attract new players because it's not the point of the mode.
It's a mode built on grinding and the Antonidas/Baron/Rag build has no peer in terms of efficiency making the grind even more grindy since you're only ever doing one build.
Again, it's a game, not an efficiency contest. If you don't want to play a certain build, don't. Also again, Blizzard wants you to buy packs. If you want to skip the grind, open your wallet.
Some of us want to like it, but it seems like it has already been killed as a priority because it didn't succeed massively right away. (So I guess this is an attitude adjustment issue?)
Yes, overall, you seem to want everything handed to you, and you seem to value acquisition over gameplay. If you actually made an effort to enjoy playing the game instead of just trying to max out everything as fast as possible, none of the rest of this would seem problematic.
The point of Mercenaries is to enjoy the challenge of doing the best you can with what you have to defeat difficult PvE challenges. The point is NOT to max out everything so you can own all comers in PvP. It's a shame so many people still don't get it.
Not fixing bugs shows how little they care about the mode.
Right, that's why they just reorganized all of Team 5 so that there is now a dedicated Mercenaries team.
Things bugged for months really gives the impression that they don't care about anything more than headline "shiny new mercs!" announcements. Maybe I'm reading too much into that and not giving Blizz enough credit, tbh.
My main issue stays the same - The game isn't random enough. The minor issue of the economy (excess coins) doesn't bother me. Gameplay does.
PvP is beyond repetitive because you face few comps again and again and again. Yes, the same can be said about the actual Hearthstone but card games have innate randomness. Even if you play against a few meta decks their starting hands are different. Here you face the same stuff again, again and again.
PvE is repetitive, too. After you beat a bounty boss a few times, it becomes a boring grind. It becomes a boring grind even before that - when getting to the boss is easy (and requires same strategies) and defeating the boss is hard.
Not fixing bugs shows how little they care about the mode.
Right, that's why they just reorganized all of Team 5 so that there is now a dedicated Mercenarie
I get that, but it seems like they pulled from the marketing division instead of the gameplay division.
You get that it takes time for development to happen, right? The reorganization was announced in December and may not even be complete yet. (Dean Ayala said it would happen in 2022.) Once the dust has settled, it will take many months for the work they start now to make it to the live game.

Now it's your turn to bleed!
Here's another unadressed issue :
-Game is not fun and has no content besides progressing mercs levels and abilities
I not spent any money on it and because i WFH i have it idling in the background to remind me how bad life really can be...I managed to get every hero and a good chunk maxed out, am sat on 3k gold and 2 unopened packs from tasks, I imagine am not alone so its interesting the priority is the training hall (which is basically useless to me, besides the new heroes, i like levelling the heroes as it helps you understand how they function + task for them) Seems they trying to get people to "give it a go" while they new to get the moneys off them

meh. its plenty fun. OPs issues are actually just the problems with it tbh. you just don't like it so don't pay attention to it.
such overdramatic dumb bullshit. god this place is a shithole.

On the others? Reasonable complaints.

Oh, and another longstanding bug - post-launch added bounties don't count for most tasks that require bounties to be completed.
Not fixing bugs shows how little they care about the mode.

Just let it die.

So. Do we have any news for the surplus/excess of coins? How long have we to wait?
