TL:DR - Give people a reason to keep coming back to Dungeon Run by hiding packs in various in-game places, one of which would be Dungeon Run mode.
Ok, so first off this is NOT intended to be another thread about how we all want more free stuff...
However, I think that with just a tiny bit of extra giveaway content, Blizzard could simultaneously fix the problem of replayability on Dungeon Runs and people wanting a little more generosity from them. So my thought was... Introduce a weekly Treasure Hunt!
Here's what I was thinking:
Each week, a treasure chest is hidden somewhere within the game client (randomly, different for each player and different each week)
There would be a fixed set of different locations it could be hidden, for example:
Standard ranked
Standard casual
Wild ranked
Wild casual
Dungeon Run
In order to find the treasure, you would have to win a game (or complete a run) in the mode in question.
You might happen to find it in the first mode you play that week, or you might have to check all of them before finding it in the last one you try. So with the example list above, on average you'd have to win 2.5 games/runs to find your treasure each week.
They could help you keep track of where you've looked by adding a small 'treasure map' to the home screen, which when clicked shows you a map of all the different possible hiding places, with the checked ones crossed off.
Once you find the chest, pop it open (I'm thinking similar to when you open your end of season ranked play chest) to claim your loot!
Loot could be 1 Kobolds & Catacombs pack, plus a random 1-2 other small prizes at random (15 gold/5 dust/1 common card).
And here's why I think it could genuinely work:
It's thematic! Fits in well with the flavour of Kobolds and Catacombs.
Time limited - if Blizzard is worried about giving away too much free stuff, they could just run this for the duration of KaC (for thematic consistency), and bin it when the next expansion hits.
By making Dungeon Run one of the potential hiding places, people will have a reason to keep going back to it.
Encourages people to use the different game modes.
At a little over 1 pack a week, hopefully not such a big reward that people would feel they had to go searching for it if they didn't want to.
They could even get more creative with the hiding places - maybe some weeks you'd have to build a new deck to get the treasure, or win a game against the innkeeper (snore), or even browse the store (<<nudge >> spend some money while you're here?<<nudge>>).
Of course I don't think there's any chance of this happening, but I had fun thinking it up - and I'd be interested to hear other people's thoughts!
What is the point of this post? There are several better ideas out there and Blizzard ignores them, because they only care about stuff that generates them money.(we do not have achivs because of that). It is stated that Dungeon Run will not have any rewards, except for shitty card back, and there is no way in hell they will change their mind.

I would love to see more rewards for playing dungeon run. They should do it like tavern brawl. Once per week if you complete a full dungeon run you get a pack. Or maybe new quests. Earn gold if you win 3 dungeon runs.
No hidden free stuff. I hate searching and I hate arena. I don't want to be forced to play something I don't like.
I think the daily quest idea is a good one (and waaaaay more likely to actually happen!), I was just trying to come up with something a bit more 'flavourful' to go with the theme of the expansion.
I agree about arena (although I like the mode myself) as including that on the list would effectively put the treasure behind a 'paywall', which would kind of defeat the object - hence why I left it off my original list. I also deliberately left off Tavern Brawl as that already has the weekly free pack reward.

I totally agree that this is never going to happen. We can always dream though!
I love this idea! I think that everyone who thinks this is bad idea are typical netdecking grinding players tbh. This is not just about prize it would be pretty good that players try different play modes and have motivation to experiment there.
They should add weekly quests to the game that give a pack. Do a dungeon run, Do an arena run, etc. Simple. Effective. Gets people to play different modes.
This reminds me of Kripp's idea for a treasure goblin encounter. Mixing it with your a bit, once a week in a random game mode, you cue into a battle vs a treasure goblin encounter. The better you do the better you rewards. You could even switch which game mode it would appear in week to week.

As someone who has a lot of respect for Kripp's views on HS, I'm going to take that as a compliment!
I would rather have a reward of 25-100 dust or 10-50 gold based your run. It wouldn't be a big enough reward to play it over arena, but it would give ftp players an easy way to slowly build their collection and give a general incentive to play at all.

Yeah I do like the simplicity of having a direct reward to completing a run - however I would worry about the possibility of people abusing it with bots, which makes me think Blizzard would never go for it. Plus they probably don't want to divert people's attention away from PvP for too long...
Ultimately I think something as generous as this is highly unlikely unfortunately.
Have not read the entire thread yet (I promise to do it tomorrow)
Hearthstone players always want more free stuff and Blizzard does not feel the same way BUT this is a great suggestion because it’s thematic and makes Dungeon Runs something that is worth returning to over and over (Basically what you already said.)
I do believe the Treasure should be much smaller. Maybe 10-15 gold and 5-10 dust at random.
Dungeon Run is already exactly as relevant as it needs to be.
If you want to improve the new player experience, ask them to make Decks Assemble! a permanent game mode instead of an occasional Tavern Brawl.
New players get to see and use all of the cards.
New players are on equal footing with veterans.
It teaches you how to spot and exploit synergies.
It's free.
I really enjoyed Decks Assemble! But my problem with adding that as a mode (and Dungeon Run too for that matter) is that when you add a game mode you have to consider its impact on ladder play.
For casual players, it's so hard to keep up with the constructed meta that you kind of need to spend all of your play time in something that will help you advance your card collection. If you're not earning any gold/dust/packs then it's hard not to feel like you're missing out, however fun it is!

You can complete quests in Tavern Brawl, and I would keep that rule for a separate Deck Assemble mode.

I think they could solve a lot of problems simply by making the 10 gold per 3 wins that you get playing constructed and tavern brawl available in the dungeon run. Then players don't feel like they are totally wasting there time by playing it and new players have a way to grind gold. I mean maybe there is a way to abuse it, but I don't think so, and even if you could the hard 100 gold cap is still a thing.
Edit sorry didn't read the op first just the title. His Op's idea is fine. I wish the poll had apathetic choice. It would probably be hard to implement and I think people would feel forced to play all the formats every week which may be ok, but then again there are better simpler ways to do things. It would be best as a 1 time temporary event.
