No... Because you also have way fewer pieces to work with. On heroic, you essentially can't make any mistakes because there is no way to recover. Normal is much less punishing, since you can keep getting queens or other strong pieces.
It took a while for me. I think it is entirely luck based because if he draws better than you he basically auto wins. I had several games where my queen was the last card or he would play perfectly on curve and those were impossible to win. When I won it was because he dropped his queen and I had a knight waiting for it, then he drew a lot of pawns in a row.

I beat Heroic on first try. It's just a math problem, basically. You need to position the pieces such that you can kill enemies for instance with a queen and a rook (4+2) and spread out their damage amongst enemies. Don't underestimate healing either. And shuffle useless crap to the left. For instance, put your charge minions on the far left. They're already damaged.
Can't do it, 15 tries, no matter what I try he gets the victory because he has more cards than me. Plus he somehow topdecks answers really often.
Edit: Oh of course when I finally start winning I get disconnected... FML Edit 2: I was winning the entire time until he topdecked his queen that killed mine because he just had one tower on the board versus 6 minions on my side...
Second attempt for me, was pretty careless on the first one, noticed that I have 16 pieces total way too late, when I tried to discover a piece.
I was fortunate enough to immediately take out his queen with mine and from there I just attritioned him. My knights were even the bottom 2, so I think theres quite a bit of leeway you can get, actually.
Post how many attempts it took you to win this : D
3 tries later... Ok I guess it's not that hard...

I sucked at chess. Always had, always will.
17 tries so far on heroic chess its bull shit what did you do to win when you can only have board control for 1-2 turns
the peach bites back
Here's a hint: Let him play his 2 pawns first, then play just 1 of yours in the middle.

I've been doing this shit for two hours and can't win at all. I've tried all of the suggested strategies, and it's just never working out. I give up.
grrrrrrrrr i hate this one *cry*
What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger. Except for zombie bites; one of those and you're toast.
Heroic Chess Board is EASIER than the normal chess board because you can reposition your own pieces.

Finally did it after 7 tries. Got lethal when I drew my last card.

I've said fuck it, after 70+ tries and resets it just isn't worth it.

took me a lot of time to win this one, got into fatigue 3 or more times, but finally got a pretty good curve and won

Pro Tip: You can use your hero power multiple times a turn. Once I figured this out it became a lot easier.
