I wonder if they'll make a tavern brawl out of this. Both decks 16 cards, both hero powers is to move pieces to the left.
Man who am I kidding, there's probably 5 more weeks of "all minions now cost a random amount of life and randomly have charge and randomly draw or discard cards and charge you or your opponent's paypal account when attacking"
you need to start hiting face after you took board control.
I mean place your 4-6 at the very right side so that it hit face, and rush him down in about 3-4 turnes until he will overrun you with his cards and heropower.
1) take board advantage - use horse with charge. You should have +2 figures on board
2) now focus on max dmg to the face instead of killing his new pawns.
You can't control the board all the game, simply niot enough cards
Liked the mechanic as well. Hopefully we might see more of this auto attack in the next expansion. Maybe even with a totally new archtype or if we include this woth mechs. Would be pretty cool to be honest

Nah, we've had worse. The one where every card costs 1, CPU locked at 2 crystals, player locked at 1, THAT one was just rng.
I did this one on Heroic on the second try with a good starting hand ( t1 pawn, t2 pawn - pawn, t3 rook) then spent some time thinking about positioning. On t7 I topdecked the Queen and gg.
1st try, easiest boss yet. I love how people used to cry about HS not being like chess because being too RNG and when the devs made this chess challenge where you only have to do basic math and proper positioning there are people crying that it is too hard xD
Except that's even more RNG before. YOU NEED specific draws at specific points in the game or you lose. Simple as that.
The only card that you NEED to win is the Queen who you need to pull out before your opponent and clear the board in the turn when you play her or it is game over.
Nah, you need the horse on turn 4 more than anything. Anyway, you played one game and got lucky, so you have no clue what you are talking about.
1st attempt, took 0 dmg myself, trick is to make sure you have unequal amounts of cards so your autoattackers hit 2 minnions on his side, use the horses to weaken cards, play queens to the sides so they hit face.
I think this is one of the best Heroic bosses as of yet, from any adventure. Does nobody else think so? This is the only one where I actually had to take 5+ minutes on turns sometimes to think 3-4 turns ahead (just like real chess). I think it's brilliant; great mechanics, interesting idea, and not as rng dependent as everyone says. There is rng involved with yours and opponents draws, but you can tell if you won by turn 4 or 5 (also like chess sometimes). I never put my queen to go face, I beat him down with pawns and won. Board control is king, NEVER lose board control or you're screwed. You must always have more minions than him, which isn't too difficult to do if you trade and position properly. Hero power is actually better in Heroic than it is in Normal because positioning is everything. I've been playing chess for 20 years, although I'm not too sure if that's helped me for this instance lol. But I love the idea and I think it was executed beautifully. The people that say it sucks are probably just mad because it took them forever to beat it, or they haven't beaten it yet. Oh, btw 3rd try for me. First one was getting used to the differences from Normal, second one was getting used to controlling the board properly and positioning/timing the pieces, third one was a steamroll ftw.

as a former "A" ranked chess player, i can confirm this is nothing like real chess, lol. but i enjoyed it. you need the knight on turn four, and you need to get value out of it. once i recognized that, i decided to immediately concede (actually the game lets you restart to save time) and start over. i even had the damn AI down to 1 and lost, then won the very next game easily.
i also passed my first turn, i think that's good advice. good luck everyone.

1 try, had to figuren out how my the damage worked.
I liked the mechanic, auto damage.

Just remember the good times!
It's easier than it looks. You don't even need the queen. Proof :

I was on my fifth Corona when I finished.
WOOOOOH, finally did it after 17 tries. Got rekt by RNG so many times when trying.
This is seriously the dumbest HC boss ever. Pure RNG and nothing you can do about.

Took me 3 tries had to figure out how to use the hero power and queen right :)
1st try
It's super draw reliant. You need to have a good opener (3 pawns, a rook, and a knight) and then to draw your queen earlier than he does.

Chess and math my balls. This is 100% RNG, fuck you Blizzard.
There is a trick to this actually.
Pass turn 1, than you can beat it consistently. (not trolling, passing turn 1 increases odds for you like 40%)

WTF is RNG?
2nd try for me, really fun
