I receive requests to fill out surveys from Blizzard from time to time. They are usually fairly short, and ask the usual questions you would expect like what genres of games I play the most, what game features are important to me, etc. Today however, I received a different kind of survey. To my surprise it asked me about my experience/opinion for many different games, including non-Blizzard games like Pokemon, Metal Gear Solid, Crash Bandicoot, League of Legends, etc. The survey also inquired about how much time I spend gaming on various devices. I was later asked to rank how much I liked various Blizzard characters and subsequently how interested I would be in playing a game featuring that character. They also asked which characters I would like featured on merch, specifically T-shirts and collectible statues. At the end of the survey there was an even an option to post a video response about who my favorite character was, and why. All together the survey collected about 20 pages worth of data, much longer then previous surveys I've completed.
I posted this mostly as a PSA to check and see if you've received the survey and because I think it's interesting to speculate about what Blizzard could be working on next. As far as I know Diablo 4 (and Diablo Immortal) and Overwatch 2 are currently in development, but maybe Blizzard wants to collect a lot of data to decide what their next project is. The merch questions also gave me the idea that maybe they are trying to gauge interest in new merch to be sold at Blizzcon, but that seems like they'd be cutting it pretty close since BC is only a few months away and design and manufacturing takes awhile.
What are everyone's thoughts? What kind of game are you hoping for from Blizzard? I'm hoping for even more continued support of StarCraft 2 and new modes and features for Hearthstone.
They did state they are going to jump more into mobile games now; so other than established entities anything new might be a disappointment. But they might surprise us.
An RPG based on Overwatch lore could be fun. Not an MMO, but just a normal multiplayer shooter RPG.
(Wasn't the IP originally supposed to be an MMO that they couldn't get to work right or something?)
But this whole survey thing smells strongly of Activision. Screw them and screw their mobile initiative. Please just let Blizzard go back to being Blizzard.

Yes, Overwatch was the remains of Project Titan, a huge RPG they wanted to make (not sure if MMO) and when they couldn't get it to be fun, they pulled the plug and someone came up with overwatch in the months after when going through what else to do.

Check out my fun and innovative decks here:
Beat your opponent to a pulp with Revenant Warrior or outlast them with Demon Reno Warlock.
I would hope for more features in HS since it's the only Blizzard game I play but making a wow game based on the HS lore would be cool too I guess

They actually made an April fool joke dubbed "Hearthstone the MMO"

The Dr. Boom at the end feels so much more relevant now.
