So I’m guessing most people have, on occasion at least, won a game and received a friend request. That friend request is from a very poor loser who hurls profanity and racial slurs at you and then unfriends you. First off let me just say this is my favorite thing ever. When I see that friend request I can’t accept fast enough. I try to respond with all of my trolling powers before they unfriend me, and I will then friend request them repeatedly. I’m making this post because I really am just wondering what is going on in these peoples brains. Are you really that angry about losing? Do you do this after every loss? How old are you? What do you do for a living? Any other insights are appreciated as well.
Oof. I’ve done it, but not proud, to be sure. I never used nsfw language, because I have kids and know they’re playing, etc.
So, most of mine were over the top sarcasm, questioning the intelligence of the other player, or both. I was just tilted and frustrated after playing the same (usually aggro) deck over and over, losing no matter what I played. His was undoubtedly due to being tilted, or, frankly, just not being that great at the game (I regularly hit dad legend, but have never been past R1). Also needed to deal with some anger issues as well (hurray for therapy and medication).
So, unless someone else has also come up with it, if you’ve received a flamy friend request and were called a hearthchimp (oy...my phone still autocorrects that), I apologize and hope you were able to chuckle at my immaturity.
I Acctually have an folder onmy desktop with the name "Hearthstone Flames" in there i have printscreens of people that have done this too me, very funny to look at when youre bored :)
I've done it too and although I'm not proud of it, I'm not really sorry. Sometimes when you lose a few games in a row, you need to vent your frustration, especially when your opponent BMs you (by emoting too much, playing unnecessary cards even if he can already kill you on board and so on). And to be honest, I think sometimes it's a good thing to just "yell" at someone in the game. Who does it hurt? You feel better after releasing some of that frustration and your opponent feels better because they just laugh at how pathetic you are and go on with their day.
Just a couple days ago I decided to play Wild, which I normally don't. But playing in the 20+ ranks of Wild with a Reno Shudderwock C'Thun deck I made, I beat someone in a long, grinding game. After which my opponent decided to hurl some hate speech my way.
Normally when people send me requests after a win I accept and let them vent. I figure if they are so upset that they resort to furiously typing insults across the Internet at me who cares, doesn't bother me! As OP said, it's almost gratifying sometimes! And they almost always open with the same line of "your so good!" (yes, your, not you're). When they start with this I just say "Thanks, gg"
Another reason I always accept, one of my best Hearthstone friends that I'm constantly dueling and sharing 80g quests with came from a friend request I received after beating him sometime last summer. In fact I had a string last year of 3 or 4 post victory friend invites that were players wanting to challenge me to complete their 80g quest!

^^^ This! I've never done the salty yelling, but it describes the exact reason I accept 100% of the time. Although I also don't emote BM. In fact if there was an "auto-squelch" all emotes box in the game options I'd totally have that clicked!
I never do salty friend requests, I only friend request when I see a funny deck or some skillful plays. Also I rarely squelch anyone. However there is one more situation where I friend request-reaching milestones, for example if I had already reached rank 5 and my opponent is rank 6, I ALWAYS give them the win, because there is really nothing catastrophic for me, but when I am rank 6, and my opponent doesn’t understand this I try to contact him and explain this thing so that he can do it to others

Hello. Please accept my friend request. I have some important and life changing friendly advice to offer after that last post of yours....
I also have fun with it when they are salty after I've beaten them. They'll curse at me and and I'll just reiterate how they suck and they need to get gud with a little :D just for laughs.
I always kind of hope I will make a friend who digs how I just beat him out of nowhere with a weird deck when they were to have victory within their grasp... the friend requests never come though. sweet or salty.
I had a few of these in a row, now I don't accept friend requests anymore from people who I've beaten. While I do find it entertaining to tell someone whining how bad of a player they are what happens is that they hurl abuse and then immediately unfriend you. It's pathetic.
Actually played the guy who hurled the worst abuse at me about a month later (he had a very distinct username which I remembered) and was bm'ing all game again, dropped both mana tide totems (stupid when he already had 6 cards). So I didn't touch those, and once he got to 10 cards it was naturalize time after bm'ing him in return. Bye bye Shudderwock which was very satisfying lol.
All of my adds have been positive other than this one token druid player. He started spamming emotes relentlessly (pressing it a couple times, fine you're a nerd but i'm not going to be upset but he was emoting on cooldown). I got him really low but he totally took over the board and then i won with a top deck or hagatha card or something like that. He adds me to tell me my play is trash and said he started emoting because "you take forever with your turns, this isn't HCT". What a guy.
I had someone rage request me because I emoted 'Well Played' at the end of the game. This was someone who had "completed Hearthstone" if you know what I mean so I just kept saying good game and better luck next time, and I offered to give them some gameplay tips too.

Nothing special really, they are just normal people behind a keyboard, that is all. Welcome to the human race bro! :)
I don't have a clue because this hasn't happened to me...

Salt is the lifeblood of the average Hearthstone player.

Posting screenshots that show names are against TOU. You should be ashamed of yourself.
Ill usually wait until the next day before accepting.. they've usually forgotten about their salt by then :)_
