I run a classic control, but instead of using Brawl I'm using 2 whirlwinds. I've gotten both lucky and screwed by an opponent playing Brawl. It seems to be the current standard to play Brawl. Just kind of curious about pros/cons. Is it time to get with times? Thanks in advance for any and all replies!

All things excellent are as difficult as they are rare.
I run two whirlwinds, I have a lot of the legendaries but I am no wallet warrior. Anyway I think using one brawl is better than two in case you get screwed over with it.
Brawl is ok, nothing more and nothing less. When aggro decks spam on you and your looking at 3, 4 and 5 minions how are going to clear all that with Warrior? You can't clear it without a brawl, so yes you need to have 1 brawl in your deck or you're just going to lose any time the enemy starts playing a bunch of stuff at once. The reason we don't run 2 brawls though is because it's really not a great card, except in the one scenario where someone has spammed the board and you need to do a AOE clear. In the control vs control matchups Brawl is nearly worthless, because you'll rarely see more than 2 minions at a time, so now you're talking about a 5mana Steady Shot.
The idea of CW is to survive the early game and win by overwhelming your opponent with lots of legendary late game. Warrior has a lot of good single target removal (Shield Slam, execute, weapons) but has very few option for full AOE board clear due to most minions having >1 health. Using brawl will help take care most enemies minions (both big and small) and allow you to use ur single target removal on the sole survivor. Of course since it is random it can either help you or screw you hence not very reliable. Unfortunately it is warrior only way for a full board clear.
Brawl is your AOE clear. It gives you hope in games that the opponents board has gotten out of control. Vs control or aggro. Pretty much every control war runs brawl. I do not see the reason for not running it. Way more pros, than cons.
Seems like personal choice, but I'd rather have a Brawl sitting in my hand unused, than need one and not have it. I find that if I don't draw my Win Axe a Brawl usually helps turn the tides after the early game.
Brawl is great for control matches and okay for aggro. I think there are better choices for aggro match-ups in that slot (Bomb Lobber?) I'm running an anti-aggro control build without Brawl this month and it's been working out very well. I no longer fear hunters, mech mages or mech shamans.
Handlock is basically an auto-concede though. I don't run Big Game Hunter either.

1 Brawl is borderline mandatory. 2 whirlwinds seems like overkill to me personally.

Unbowed. Unbent. Unbroken.

Brawl is that one card that a warrior hates to love. You have to have one in a deck.
I had to add Brawl back in. :(
Also added Gorehowl to deal with druids
How do you get the card names to come up in the color of rarity and so you can hover over it to see the card? Thanks!!
