I discuss the powermace in my guide. It lets you keep up with board, and combos with the board safety of the deck of the piloted shredders and the spidertank. There aren't any good 3 or 4 drop murlocs by themselves, so I used the mech counterparts and so far it's been working great!
I see...I didn't have enough time to read the guide so I just deduced too fast from what I could see. But it looks like a pretty decent deck, I'll give it a shot!

Your point on the powermace is good, yes, but as you say "it's a FWA for 1 more mana". The reason why it is run in warrior decks is mainly because it's great for early control of aggro decks - as soon as turn 1 with the coin, powermace is too slow for that. Maybe you could consider replacing them by 1xCrackle and the Bloodlust above mentioned. In any case, those were just my 2 cent.

Three mana firey war axe would be too slow in warrior, But in this deck it's fine, since you have 1s and 2s to contest early. Warrior doesn't have rockbiter weapon or earth shocks.
The point of the deck is to get a board and grind out a win, and a win condition burst card doesn't help that. The deck wants to be playing cards as often and as safely as possible. Since some murlocs stay in your hand, so getting rid of an efficient sticky minion like spidertank for bloodlust deeply hurts the deck. if you want to put in burst, replace a hex, or another card that stays in hand.
neptulon serves just fine for a win condition, but crackles, flametongue totems, and bloodlust are very hard to fit for this kind of deck.
Thats my experience, anyway. I'd love to see this style get more testing.

Just put up my guide on a somewhat for fun somewhat competitive Murloc Shaman
Take a look!

Enjoy!
A powermace in a non-mech deck? Weird...
Powermace is basically a Fiery War Axe for 1 more mana. FWA is ridiculously good so Powermace still sees some play, even without mechs.
There are Spider Tank, Piloted Shredder, and Dr. Boom's boombots though.
Have a great deck that's really, really cheap? Help the new players out

What is your victory condition?
I would make some place for 2xFlametongue Totem and 1xBloodlust. Maybe instead of the spider tanks.
