Shaman is absolutely dominating the ladder right now. Aggro shaman has almost no counter play to it at the moment. It almost boggles my mind that Blizz didnt nerf doomhammer..but on top of that they create a 4 mana 7/7 while nerfing BGH to 5 mana to guarantee there 0 counterplay to an obviously broken card...and to add on top of that take away all good healing and defensive minions. This has 100% ruined my experience so far because I know 1 week from now the ladder is going to be all aggro shamans because there is no reason to play anything else because it cant be stopped. Anyone else feel the same???
Totally feel the same, I'm playing Priest with double Shadow Word: Death right now trying to get something done against Shaman, but that doesn't really help since I rarely draw them when I need it and if I draw it either the second 7/7 or the Doom Hammer owns me. GG Blizzard!
Gonna try out some Warrior I guess for dank executing.
EDIT: Dropped from 5 to 7 while facing 80% Shamans with either Priest or C'Thun Druid (the latter doing even worse).
no, i dont feel I've faced a lot of aggro shamam and havent lost yet Its pretty obvious decks, just add counters to it They are no longer a spell domminance deck, so its like countering a face hunter They will be in the same place they were previous the expansion anyways... They are easy pray for warrior, priest and midrange shamam, so go for it if you are facing too many of them
Shaman is ok, I played a lot today with Shaman, and against Shaman, and can't say it's broken or even dominating. And it's too early to do any conclusions about game balance in current meta chaos. If topic starter will play Shaman himself he will enjoy his OPness (Kappa), but actually no, his OPness is completely illusory.
From my experience so far there is no good counters..like at all. The 4 mana 7/7 consistently hits me in the face for 14. It just puts face shaman way over the top.

if a deck is not working, its an obvious choice to change to something else o other class.
I think mid-range shaman is very strong but a reasonable deck.
Face shaman on the other hand has always been ridiculously op and stupid. Now people don't even have the tools they used to like healbot and belcher. Its just a got a lot worse.

I don't disagree that Shaman is super, super strong with this expansion... But I want everyone to just stop and bask in the moment. QQ threads about the Shaman class can finally be a reality.

Articles I suggest every player reads to improve at the game;
Played a fair bit of mid-range hunter, shaman hasn't posed a big problem (over 5-6 games)... perhaps I got lucky.
Shaman does seem like a powerhouse though. I'm not sure I agree on the statline reasoning, where they now count overload as a backdraw (ie 4 mana + 2 overload is now above ogre in stats).
We don't have much hard removal at turn 4, and coupled with a hard hitting aggro deck this creates a bit of a conundrum... for a deck like that it doesn't really matter too much if you only have 2 or 3 mana the next turn, and your opponent isn't going to be able to make a tempo play regardless... he's either spending 1-2 cards and going into card disadvantage, most likely losing tempo or he is taking 7 to the face and not catching up on board.
The funny part is that the same mechanic that made shaman so terrible is the EXACT reason they're so incredibly dominant now. Turn one Trogg. Turn 2 Golem, now you have a 2/3 and 3/4. And turn 3 you still have 2 mana to do whatever with.
Mid to late game you have solid removals with Lava Burst, Lightning Storm, and Stormcrackle. Not to mention Fire Elementals. And all the while you're just boosting that Trogg and putting out minions far above their mana curve. And now, best of all, they have FOUR overload cancellation options. And don't even get me started on Evolve (if played right).
Honestly, Doomhammer is kinda the least of your problems. The fact that they can curve far higher than you every turn, and cancel their only drawback to all of that so easily, and then if they have to take some punishment on their minions they can just full heal them all and make them potentially BETTER.
Everyone hoped that this set and Standard, plus the classic nerfs, would put an end to the "all aggro all the time" meta. And I told them they were all idiots for thinking that. And...I was right.
Shaman got a lot of love in this expansion. They got some very strong cards and immediately stomped players who were just testing decks. I learnt pretty quickly that Shaman absolutely crushes any C'thun deck that only has C'thun as a win condition. I think the main offender I have found when playing against a shaman is the flamewreathed faceless, as a 4 mana 7/7 it has an immediate impact when it comes out. It is not uncounterable because you can kill it with removal, but because of its body it immediately demands an answer. When I have faced shaman I always try to make sure I have a removal spell in my hand by turn 4 because if it is not dealt with quickly than it literally can steamroll you. Shaman is powerful right now because the meta has not settled down yet and Shaman got some of the most powerful cards in this expansion. When the meta settles down and people have more refined decks than shaman may not be such a problem, just watch out for the big guy on turn 4.
I've played against a lot of aggro Shaman in the last day and it's certianly interesting. I have games where I don't feel like I can do much, but there have also been several games where I just assumed I was dead but they didn't have the reach. It's so nice not having to worry about them rolling high on Crackle to finish the game, and Leper Gnome getting dropped has really shored up the early game. Midrange Paladin variants are good for dealing with them, as you can play a ton of counters to their 7/7 and if it ever feels like they're really getting to be too much Forbidden Healing is actually a reasonable option.
At long last...everyone bows before the mighty Thrall, as it was meant to be!!!
I don't play the Face Shaman decks, but it's good to see the Shaman Hero being talked about...other than "It's a trash hero haha play something else" for once ;)

Blizz </3 Shaman
It was obvious that shaman gonna be broken and he is, from worst class to absurdly OP...

Midrange shaman is even worse, with evolve it's just insanely op.

stop crying! its fine.. so many decks will pop soon.
you people take too many conclusions in 2 days.
and i dont play shaman FYI
I've been steamrolling Shaman on deathrattle/N'zoth hunter. Sounds like a personal problem.

play taunts
ok
Absurdly broken imo.
I've been running a Reno Jackson/C'thun Warlock deck and been doing pretty damn well.
I find your lack of faith disturbing.
