I have been trying to build a deck that takes some of the best things from a nice aggro shaman start but then builds into an Earth Elemental type shaman. While initially I thought this was crazy, it on second look is not insane. The highest mana minion is Dr. Boom (cause why not) and everything else is 5/6 and below.
I started tinkering with this deck after playing a lot with the crusher type shamans. I have had fun with them, but I thought it might be interested to take out the 'delay till turn 6-7' cards (ele destruction, doomsayer, etc.) and put in the aggro package, which can sometimes end a game on its own. So far this deck works amazing....if (and its a big IF) you get a great draw. The part I am working in is making it a little bit more of a smooth transition.
My most recent changes were to add in some healing. Face tanking withDoomhammer is great, but it really eats into your health . I have been thinking about removing both Dr. Boom and the piloted shedders for either more cycle or more taunts, or something in the middle. Injured Kvaldir and Ancestral Healing is a cool combo (or Injured Blademaster) but i did not want to add more combos, since it already has inconsistency problems.
Open to any advice and testing... as well as a new name for the deck if it becomes successful
The first thing that strikes me is your mention of low casting cost followed up with a deck list containing Emperor Thaurissan and Healing Wave. Wave is such a toss up to begin with, and now you've got it in a deck with only 6 cards @ 5+ cost. 2x Ancestral Knowledge is pretty steep, too. Three spots that may be best as more (or more efficient) draw and/or heal. Azure Drake is an obvious choice (and long time staple for Thrall) with the need to draw more efficiently. It essentially costs one more than the Ancestral Knowledge while leaving a 4/4 body and +1 SD on the board.
14 spells always has the downside of clogging your hand, especially since none of those spells are on-curve drops. I'd try to lean that out a bit, but the how of it depends on some of the other changes you make.
I like the idea of removing Emperor, had not thought of it that way, was thinking it would make combos easier. As for the healing wave, I am not sure what would be a better replacement, so far I just needed 'some' healing and maybe vitality totem would be better.
Also I agree that maybe I should be eliminating some spells, rockbiter is nice withDoomhammer, but maybe I should go for Stormforged Axe drop both rockbiters and add in two more minions.....
You have given me some great ideas, thanks for commenting.
What exactly is your win condition? Aggro, midrange, combo, or laying down big minions in a Handlock style and lasting for a longer game.
Typcially win condition is having a decent early/mid game then finishing with big strong taunts 2-3 7/8s on board is tough for most classes to deal with.
I had doomhamer Rockbiters in there, but I am thinking about removing them.
I may remove Boom and put something like arch thief in there. Any suggestions?

I'm not sure removing Dr. Balance is the way to go. If you consider Rafaam for Dr.B (or as a replacement for something else you pull) you should consider Kel'Thuzad. The obvious synergy with deathrattle and Syl make for more fun than you'll get out of Rafaam, I'd wager.
There was a really good deck prior to a few of the recent expansions that abused Kel, EE, and Spirit. If you filter Shaman decks using Injured Blademaster you should find it easy enough. It used Ancestral Healing on him and spirit/reincarnate, iirc. Some of those older decks are worth revisiting now that Thrall has some of his own early game, class minions to use.
EDIT: After suggesting a search, I did a search and found a ton of Shaman builds that used the Inj.B trick. lol.... sorry, don't bother searching but you get the idea.
Sorry I was more thinking about removing boom and the shredders, to make it fit standard, but that doesnt not really make sense there will be a whole new expansion with the new mode.
So I took out the last Fireguard and added in more draw, which I dont think is the right mve...
I enjoy playing this deck and I really think its not a 'bad deck' its just not really a good deck. So many games I lose where I just feel like I don't quite have the answers... but any deck I play against that does not have great answers I can destroy.... I think I may shelve this deck until the next release. If we were to get a handful of slightly more useful cards I think it could be pretty awesome.
If anyone else has played around with the deck let me know your thoughts.

That's pretty much shaman in a nutshell and my honest opinion is that there is no way to improve it. If you can find a build for your deck that averages somewhere around a 65 percent winrate you've probably hit the optimal build for what you are trying to do. Who knows, someone might come in here going "Remove this and add this" creating some awesome deck. I just thin that as long as you can win some games, that's probably the best it will get.
