What if DK Anduin just gives you a permanent Auchenai effect (hero power, spells, battlecries, everything)? That would be pretty nuts.
It's really hard to gauge the balance between this and something like Deathstalker Rexxar.
I really hope they don't do this. The reason is Shadow priest is so much more fun to play then Auchenai decks in that you can still heal yourself. I would be pretty pissed if I couldn't have priest of the feast in the new DK Anduin deck or any other healing, because remember that most healing targets only yourself.
new hero power: enter shadow form and gain lifesteal. So you can use shadowform cards to hav 2/3/4 damage hero power with lifesteal. 3 damage with lifesteal is strong, 4 is op, which is rigjt since its a 3 card combo

If you have a deck idea might as well go full ham on it.

Blizzard would have to change the wording on Shadowform for your idea to work. As of now it caps out at 3 damage, but 3 lifesteal for 2 mana is nuts. I would be fine if it didnt gain lifesteal, priest has so much healing it can do while in shadowform the lifesteal really isnt needed.
Tweaking your card idea as the following:
Cost: 5 mana
Battlecry: 3 damage to all minons (you have it dealing damage to heros)
New Hero Power: Cost zero mana, Cast Shadowform. This would basically be a one time use new hero power.
It would be a bit of a dick move, but it would be funny if it was a passive power that turned all random targeting events into discover events. Like using Mad Bomber would let you pick from 3 possible targets. Probably too powerful, and make Lyra the Sunshard even more broken, but it would be fun to lord it over Warlocks, who want it for the discard effect.
ah yes i meant minion. Thats true it is kind of nuts. Honestly i would be fine with your option. But im confident Blizz will give priest lots of lifesteal

i wouldn't get my hopes too high for this expansion.....i seriosuly don't want to be a party spoiler here so i'll explain, they usually don't give too much support for an archetype when it's released, See... Dragons and pirates took like 2-4 expansions to take off, elementals were a heavily hyped type in Un'goro and they haven't taken off, heck even silence priest which is perfectly viable and competitive started with the uproar caused by Purify the "most useless" card in the game, so even if shadow priest gets support in this expansion it might not be enough support and we would have to wait for a new expansion after Koft for shadow priest to take off and finally become viable
Casting Shadowform and NOT changing Shadowform wording pushes Raza Priest further, since DN Anduin + Shadowform would cap it already. I believe that's the direction they're heading.

But you can heal yourself, up until you play the DK card. Deciding when to give that up is part of the strategy.

This was one of the first things I noticed. Glad I'm not the only one that noticed this and made mention of it. I had a suspicion that each class would have a Legendary weapon because of the art and because of the second Legendary that has yet to be revealed. They recently announced that the other Legendary will in fact be a Legendary minion, so the suspicion doesn't hold up anymore.
Well, I still think lifesteal would've been a good match for the priest, I don't think it'll happen. Mage already has a hero power with lifesteal. Maybe some sort of resurrection ability? At first blush, it sounds too much, but it's really not stronger than jade. Especially if it requires a highlander deck.
well if our priest becomes a death knight, which is literally confirmed to happen because that is what the expansion is about, then our priest will be turning to the dark side in search of power. That is literally exactly what shadowpriests do. he also has turned purple and is of course holding a shadow form card but without that image I figured we would get shadowpriest support. It is literally the only logical thing for them to do with this expansion and priest.
The question now is how? I have a suspicion that card creation is gonna be an effect on all the deathknight hero powers, given what we have seen hunter makes zombeasts, in the comics garrosh makes armor constructs, jaina will probably make elementals because of what we saw in the leak, and then maybe Anduin makes damage spells? maybe he makes damage versions of healing spells?
Another question is what is the on play effect, deal your missing health in damage while cool and thematic would be a little combo-y for how blizzard seems to want these hero cards to work. maybe it just straight up causes heals to damage the turn you play it, but then it would also be a little combo-y and the high cost of hero cards would make that effect suck. similar to the last idea but have a velen effect? again it feels combo-y and inneffective because of the cost. I really don't know what they could do that would be fitting but in line with their new hero power actually being useful and not just you win the game when you play this hero card. Kind of because in my mind shadow priest is a combo deck or an aggro deck, so the hero card is either the finisher, or too slow. excited to see how it plays out but maybe hoping shadow priest will actually be viable is foolish even though it looks like that has to be the angle they push this expansion.

Just fill your deck with one drops, that is creative deck design, right?

The lifesteal effect on Jaina isn't her hero power. It's part of her battlecry.
For comparison, Deathstalker Rexxar's new hero power is not mentioned on his hero card.
Shadow priest is my Favorite Archetype. I want it to be good.
Check out my entry for this week's Card Design Competition. Vote for it if you like it.
I'm pretty confident we will get shadowform with lifesteal. this is what im expecting.

One can dream. Long-time Shadow Priest in WoW, so the thought alone makes me excited, hopefully they follow through on it.

Come visit my Card Emporium. Strange things, you will find inside...
Come take the test, if you're daring. Feel free to show me your results in a message.
They should make the death knight priest hero power deal 2 dmg, lifesteal.
