Priest is not dead, it's just rightful returned to being a lower tier skill intensive deck that can't win on curving alone the way old dragon priest did. I can think of 4 solidly different Priest deck types right now that are perfectly viable in the current meta. Singleton, Dragon Priest, Circle/Auch Priest and old fashioned Ctrl Priest without Circles. Some people have been taunting Silence Priest and Combo Priest as well... but I'm sold on the consistency of either of those decks.
Miracle Priest is actually the more functional for Standard ladder. There are tons of different list around with various tech cards and variations from one to another, so everyone should be able to find something he'll like or to deckbuild his own. The deck anyway is not Tier 1 but for sure it's one of the best Tier 2 out there.
Quest Priest on the other side is pretty weak, such a shame considering the Quest the class got.
Dragon Priest is not seeing so much play, probably because its mechanics are for sure not that powerfull anymore after BRM rotation and Azure Drake to Hall of Fame.
I have absolutely gorgeous winrates vs most of The Classes with my priest Deck, Paladin 8:0, Hunter 7:2, shaman 4:1, also vs Mage Is great (even exodia cause of Dirty rat) ....BUT i get completely destroyed By Rogue (about 20% wrate) AND priest mirror matches (about 30% wrate) ...just because i tech hard vs aggro / Midrange, so i loose vs priest.
Pirate warrior Is always hard but OK, Quest Warrior is easy matchup
I've been playing since beta as a priest mainer and right now is probably the best it's ever been for priest. At least in the greatest variety of decks you can compete with. Maybe none tier 1 but Dragon, Silence, Lyra/miracle, Control, and the combinations of packages with these or with combos are all quite valid. I'd have to say of all the current architypes that Quest and Highlander are actually the worse, in standard. Although in Wild the latter 2 are amongst the best decks of any class.
Actually I've been playing a straight thief deck for the past few days (albeit mostly in casual) that I've been having great fun with and win over 60%. Even that deck feels good against most the current tier1-2 decks (well except against Pallys).
Priest is perhaps the best counter to Freeze Mage.
This seems like an amazing turn of events. I'm not playing Priest this expansion but my god... the Freeze Mage matchup was always the worst thing in the world. Just slightly worse to me than Handlock.
I swear by God, i didnt loose a Single Game since Release of ungoro vs the "New" Freeze Mage, just because he has loost his 30 Damage Combo. Greater Healing Potion, Priest of the Feast, Holy Fire, Some heals from Lyra maybe, MIstress of Mixtures, 0 Mana Heal from Raza,....gg.

Same here, priest only since Beta and priest wasnt more viable Ever before, best time to Play priest now and there are so many different viable architypes you can Play, ofc none of them Is TOP Tier1, but you can play them also on legend with decent wrates

vs Old Freeze Mage was 100% loose, yes
Yeah, I guess I had underestimated how much the OTK really mean in the old days... mostly because I was just so used to it. I actually really like the new Freeze Mage, if only for that; burn decks never really bothered me in any game, just ones where even just teching healing wasn't enough.
I watched a friend of mine play some Dragon Priest last night, I'm extremely glad to see that the list lived on but took a turn for the slower/trickier. Pre-rotation Dragon Priest was still one of my favorite lists, but it just looks so much more interesting now since you can amp the value to 11.

Been hitting my gold limit everyday with Lyra priest ( with 2 Giants and Yogg, and Elise). It's really fun. But sadly I don't get to do the 2 radiant elemental crazy Lyra cycle that often. But man I love radiant elemental, the difference of health between him and sorccer apprentice is so noticeable.
Priest is very solid. Nzoth Quest in standard puts in work versus everything but OTK Mage, Jade Druid, and something like Reno-less Reno Priest. The Silence/Meme Priest is very strong versus a lot of decks minus maybe Control Paladin, Midrange Hunter w/ Deadly Shot, and some variations of Taunt Warrior. The Reno-less Priest control lists have pretty good matchups versus a lot of the field again struggling versus Jade Druid and OTK Mage but those decks aren't as popular as others.
Not only do I not agree that "Priest is dead", I actually think it's one of the healthiest classes with a handful of viable tier 1-3 type decks.
A well build priest deck is autowin vs aggro.
Far from dead.
Try miracle Priest
With all the board clears and single target removals that are insane vs their minion (potion of madness reks them hard) .
As long you don't get unlucky you should be good vs hunter .

For what profit is it to a man, if he gains the world and loses his own soul?
Im currently Rank 4 with Highlander Priest, was easy to climb, llast 30 Games > 70% winrate.
Warlock & Shaman are veeeeery Rare, also Druid
Most of The Time i face Hunter, Rogue, Warrior and the New murloc Midrange Pala

Problem is, Matchtime overall Is about 10 min.

I have 100% winrate with control priest vs paladins, good matchs vs the others classes than rogues and warriors.
currently rank 1 from 3 with elise dragon priest. It hoses mage and wins every long game. Because you dont see much pirate, it is really good.
Unstable portal -> Servant of Yogg-Saron -> Brawl -> Servant wins with opponent's board full. Never Lucky
quest priest seems 100% dead. Not playing a card on turn 1? Not really a big deal. Starting with 1 fewer card in your opening hand ? A huge deal.
I'd love to see what you're all running for Highlander Priest.

The game is dead most likely :(
Good, because if Priest is ever tier one, I will stay at rank 20.
