I remember that freeze mage deck a while back which used two Sorcerer's Apprentice and one Ancient Mage to do a lot of damage in one turn. Generally it worked pretty well, but you might end up in situations where your hand can't hold all the cards you need until you can use them; burn and stall and alex and ice block AND apprentices - might be too much.
Anyone tried Sorcerer's Apprentice in Freeze Mage? I found that Sorcerer's Apprentice has been really useful in my Freeze Mage deck. It allows stronger burst when combined with Archmage Antonidas and Emperor Thaurissan and has okay vanilla stat.

My idea here is to get Sorcerer's Apprentice getting a mana reduction from Emperor Thaurissan which turns itself into Innervate if used for 3 spell (mostly Frost Bolt>Ice Lance>Ice Lance)
infinite fireballs can be fun with 4 of them
