I mean, I get that it's much more "auto-pilot" than a Patron Warrior or an Oil Rogue but for Christs sake, you can't tell me there isn't something impressive about being able to deal 30 damage in 4 rounds of play... It's surprisingly effective and the games are super quick. Even if you run a 55% win% and only have to play 7-8 turns before you win/lose you will gain ranks faster than a 60-65% win ratio at a 16+ round length game.
I honestly don't understand how people don't hate Zoo more. I have no quarrel with Hunter of the face variety. But F- Zoo. And F- Implosion. Die in a fire.
While I agree that it is easier than most decks, there is surely strategy to some turn4-7 plays that make or break matches. It's just a different approach and for the dust, is easily the best value.
Face hunter is hated, as others have said, mostly because there is very little (if any) skill involved. I play control warrior so I enjoy seeing face hunter because, unless I get terrible draws, I expect to win the match.
I think face hunter gets more hate because of stronger popularity as well as the complete disregard of board control.
There are plenty of other annoying aggro formats such as zoolock and mech mage, but they typically put the player in a position where he has to make trade offs in order to maintain board control. That's a big part of the game and a part of the skill so to speak as you make those decisions.
I myself don't play hunter or aggo format at all or cheap combo decks, but prefer more control or mid range. The lack of balance in the current meta is due to blizzard's neglect. If they balance cards they overbalance and make them completely useless, such as Tinkmaster Overspark.
People hate Face Hunter because the ones that despise it commonly have invested a lot of time or money into the game to create an effective expensive deck, while Face Hunter usually garners similar results for a much smaller cost. In short, people hate Face Hunter because they feel ripped-off that such a cheap deck could be so effective.
People feel cheated and they rage. It's like an unlucky draw or RNG, but there are so many of them the rage intensifies exponentially. Hunter is my favorite class and I really don't like battle against Face Hunters, other players hate them furiously. I understand, don't agree, but understand.
Two reasons. I am not hating it, but simply pointing out why people hate it.
1.Easy to play. It doesn't require as much skill nor knowledge of the game as much as other decks do. In general it's pretty "brainless", you go face with whatever card you have. I know that because I have played a lot of facehunter before and eventually it just got boring. On top of that it's also very strong deck. 2.Hard to counter. It's really difficult to counter facehunter while making sure that your deck works against other decks as well. You have to build a deck specifically to counter facehunter.
And for those 2 reasons there isn't anything impressive when you beat your opponent in 4 turns ;)

Basically people hate it for 2 reason, A) because it's obscenely easy and B) because you don't get to use any of your fun/interesting strategies against it because you'll be dead before you get to actually do anything cool.
People have a right to be upset with it, but since Blizzard made this "free"2play game extremely difficult without actually paying, those players equally have a right to just play face hunter. If you're a new player without a fat wallet, what else are you gonna do? Come onto the ladder and show the world the power of your control deck with Boulderfist Ogres and Bootybay Bodyguards?
It's simply boring, because it's not like your decisions did'nt had any impact at all. It reduces all to "Facehunter thinking: how can I deal more face damage with less effort (and sometimes) less risk?" and "Opponent thinking: Can I survive/kill it before he kills me?". Usually the one who has to think more (unless the FH sucks at math) is the opponent. I sometimes play it because I have no dust nor cards for an addecuate control deck and I hate midrange even more than FH, as my experiences against midrange are usually: "Hunter goes full face. Hunter has much stronger cards than FH (you know: highmanes, loatheb, boom, shredders, freezing traps, webspinners...). Hunter wins... and even if it's me who wins, it was close and did not really worthed it".
And I'm not being an hypocrite at all: I also f*cking hate frost mage, shockadin, combo warriors (worgen, math, patron, don't even care), and combo druid (what kind of interaction can survive a constant "I need to stay at like 14-22+ health because of a cheesy 2-4 cards combo"? At least the old miracle rogue could really have a hard time battling until the combo could happen). All of them like: "I don't f*cking care about nothing you did, nothing you have, nothing you could ever do: I'm topdecking my lethal right now/ pulling my massively broken combo right now".
I don't like FH because it's one of them, and usually serves well for some of the greatest idiots I have ever seen, at least in this patch. Pretty ironic that I play one when I need to play hunter, but I said why, and still I'm not going enough face to be a real face hunter (I feel sad if I don't kill some minions, for f*cks sake).
Most of the hate at least from where I stand is that it is too common, it is not fun to play against the same deck all the time, especially if the deck you would like to play is weak against it.

>Takes 0 braincells to play
>As strong as anything that actually requires a brain to play
Shaku, the Collector gave me the Plague
Because huntard has been here for very long time and everyone seems to still play it. Its boring.
I can't tell if this is bait or not, since the OP basically listed the reasons why the deck is hated .__.
While I agree that it is easier than most decks, there is surely strategy to some turn4-7 plays that make or break matches. It's just a different approach and for the dust, is easily the best value.

Boring is ok. I like winning. Why would you intentionally put more variance into your game than you need to?
I love wizard poker!!
Simple put, people are mad that a deck that require almost no skill can easily beat their fine tuned complex Control/Combo decks. I agree with then.
Face hunter is hated, as others have said, mostly because there is very little (if any) skill involved. I play control warrior so I enjoy seeing face hunter because, unless I get terrible draws, I expect to win the match.
All that proves to me is that their "fine tuned combo machines" aren't as efficient as they think they are.
I love wizard poker!!
You asked why people hated it, not if the hate was legitimate.
I think face hunter gets more hate because of stronger popularity as well as the complete disregard of board control.

That'll do, Huffer. That'll do.
Because they are everywhere and boring to play against.
Also boring to play with. Effective at winning, yes, but not much more entertaining than mowing my lawn.

I hate it because it's existence dilutes deck creating and strategy. As long as it can win against anything, meta remains stale AF.
Most of the hate at least from where I stand is that it is too common, it is not fun to play against the same deck all the time, especially if the deck you would like to play is weak against it.
