Some may argue, that this isn't a bug, since the girl was the initial target.
Alright, but how can you explain this interaction? If the argument is that the Secretkeeper should get the divine shield in the first place, because she is the initial target, then why does the same combination of secrets work differently?
[edit] I thought about the play-order of those paladin secrets. But unless I'm blind, in both cases all of those secrets were played in the same way.
This is just an interesting interaction I found with the new Paladin secret Autodefense Matrix. It's most likely not a bug and nothing more than a unique interaction, but I wanted to share it just for fun and to enlighten the community!
So, obviously, this card will give a minion Divine Shield when attacked. Now , if this and Noble Sacrifice activate at the same time, the Divine Shield will go to the targeted minion, but will still keep the Divine Shield because the attacking minion will hit the Defender instead.
HOWEVER, if both secrets activate and the targeted minion already has a Divine Shield, Autodefense Matrix will not give that minion a redundant Divine Shield and instead give it to the Defender. Why? I'm not sure.
Personally, I thought this was very interesting and I wanted to share it with you all! Is it a bug? Eh, probably not. It's nothing major at all but definitely something that caught my eye! What do you guys think?
Well it seems so indeed! Now i’m curious! I’ll experiment if I got time today :)
Do it. In the mean time I will just say this #Smallindiecompany.
I thought about actually sending a ticket on the official forums, but I was kinda busy the last few days. I'll probably send one either this evening or tomorrow, if I don't forget.
"So, obviously, this card will give a minion Divine Shield when attacked. Even when the minion has Divine Shield, the secret will trigger and give the minion a redundant Divine Shield, essentially doing nothing."
ofcourse not, If minion got divine shield - secret wont trigger go and test it on bots ( :
If you attack the Silver Hand Recruit it doesn't matter if the Defender is summoned first or second, because the targeted minion would still be the Silver Hand Recruit.

Merged Kovachut's and Pageturner's threads, since they discuss the same thing. Kovachut's post ended up being higher cause his thread was older, so dont panic :)
Actually it's completely logical interaction since Autodefense Matrix deosn't proc on minion if it already has divine shield.
Minion without DS is attacked -> it's a first target for this attack so it gets DS -> Noble sacrafice changes target to defender and he recives the attack
Minion with DS is attacked -> it's a first target for this attack but since it already has DS matrix desn't react -> Noble sacrafice changes target to defender wich is second target for this attack, so matrix reacts and gives DS to him
Order of secrets doesn't matter because original minion is always will be the first target for this attack.

That makes sense now that you say it. I had figured that Autodefense would just be wasted if you attacked a minion with DS but it's interesting that it doesn't go off at all. I could have sworn that it was a legal play to put a divine shield on a minion twice (obviously with no additional effect) so it seems weird they would program the secret that way.
So I was watching a random RegisKillbin video on youtube, when I saw something strange.
If you click on the link (here), you will see that Phantom Militia attacks Secretkeeper, but it procs Noble Sacrifice and then Autodefense Matrix. Nothing strange so far, until you see that the Defender doesn't get the divine shield, but instead the Secretkeeper gets it.

#Smallindiecompany or am I missing something?

Actually it depends on the order the secrets are put on the board I believe. :)
I can't believe I didn't even think of that. Hardcore facepalming.

No it doesn't. I made a thread here mentioning this:
https://www.hearthpwn.com/forums/hearthstone-general/general-discussion/223256-bug-with-autodefense-matrix
RegisKillbin had the exact same problem last week and despite the play order being the same, the new secret proc'd differently in both cases.
Thank you for sharing I KNEW I wasn't crazy. I'm wondering if this is a bug or an intentional way of coding this.

Now that I think of it...
Let's say I'm playing Secret Paladin with the following on my field: Noble Sacrifice, Autodefense Matrix, and a Silver Hand Recruit.
If you attack the Silver Hand Recruit it doesn't matter if the Defender is summoned first or second, because the targeted minion would still be the Silver Hand Recruit.

Ok, after a few games against the Innkeeper here are the results:
- Noble Sacrifice then Autodefense Matrix + attack a minion with divine shield => the 2/1 gets the divine shield
- Noble Sacrifice then Autodefense Matrix + attack a minion without divine shield => the attacked minion gets the divine shield
- Noble Sacrifice then Autodefense Matrix on empty board (hero attacked) => the 2/1 gets the divine shield
- the order the secret are played has no impact (both situation leads to the same final board state)
note that in case where there is a minion without divine shield attacked the autodefense matrix animation comes first when played first.
So this strange behaviour can definitely be reproduced.
