I was playing around with a Krul demons deck last night because I wanted to play with some of the new warlock tools and I'm still missing key parts to controllock/cubelock and I was playing around with lackey's inclusion. It isn't as good in the deck. It has a chance to pull Krul, which leads to rip big demon swing, or it can land on one of the weaker demons in the deck that don't matter if you desperately need something good. The main reason it's included in the control warlock/cubelock decks is that they run so few demons, they can control what is pulled with reasonable accuracy.
If you're going the Krul route you need to toss lackey. As for Krul, I think he's good. He's been a really underrated card in my opinion. He's fun to experiment with and he saw a bit of ladder play in kft. The best thing I can say is play around with your deck and see what works best for you and to have fun.
Krul is bad because you can't play two voidlords and two lackeys with him, not because you can pull him with lackey. Voidlord is just so insane that highlander decks are not worth it. The 7/9 body for 5 mana is not bad though. I run Krul in my non-highlander wild deck with voidcallers and N'zoth just for the body to be cheated out with "recruit" effects
I have a Krul-Kazakus deck that works pretty well. I run it with the Death Knight so that if I play Krul on turn 9 and if the board gets wiped, I just play the death knight and they all come back again! He's great because he's one of the biggest demons in the game, and the board swing when you play him can be HUGE. Run sense demons in your deck, also maybe Pit Lord and Illidan if you have them, and any other big demons and you got a game-winning board. Doomguard works too since you can play them without discarding cards, haha. :)
Could you post your deck list? I really like Krul too, but I can't seem to create my own deck that works well. I'm not expecting a tier 1 deck, I just want something fun that can win occasionally.

this is my own version. Just 2 fast notes before i go: use alchemist on jaraxus on board for an immediate lethal. Save the provoke, you dont want to discard anything from hand. Mulligan low costs and while playing it as a control save the card "sense demons" for the mid game,it will fill your krul combo. Enjoy :)
I'm a huge fan of Krul the Unshackled and i lack quite some cards so one of each card decks are a go to for me..
I try to make a Krul-Demon deck. I think that Possessed Lackey is a strong card and maybe if i could fit it in the deck.
Then i realized that it can play Krul the Unshackled from the deck in which case the whole combo is gone...
Which one is better in standard Krul the Unshackled or Possessed Lackey? Why?
Should i use Possessed Lackey or not?
Is Krul the Unshackled bad?
Getting krul from the lackey isn't bad at all, often you won't get his effect anyway. Running both is not a bad idea.
On the third day before Witchwood, Blizzard gave to me,
three Handlock decks,
two Molten Giants
and a winstreak to Legend Rank #3
Disclaimer: This is a fictional poem and this didn't actually happen to me.
before the expansion i reachd rank 5 thanks to my krul deck.so i think its not that bad.
Having both in the deck isnt good at all anyway
