I agree. My only concern with cards like Doomguard or Kabal Trafficker are that they cause you to discard (or generate demons that may cause you to discard) and as you said, you can't really afford to do that in this deck.
Bane of Doom seems like a good idea... replacing the Dread Infernal with it will still generate a demon for about the same cost, and it dodges most demon penalties, because most demon penalties are Battlecry effects. The only thing is, if you generate an Unlicensed Apothecary then, when you play Bloodreaver Gul'dan, depending on their interaction, you might end up nuking your own face for 30, but I'm not 100% sure about that.
Yogg could be a good play, but he feels like more of a Jaraxxus replacement than an Infernal replacement. That many 9+ cards in a deck starts to feel too greedy. I don't know about Leeroy... either you will win from Bloodreaver demon flood, or you wear them out with 6/6s from Jaraxxus, or both. I don't find myself in too many situations where I wish I had an extra 6 damage for lethal. When the deck kills people, it seems to be when they're at 15 or so health and they have run out of answers for multiple large demons.
The issue with this deck is that people are trying greedy control deck. This will crush any aggro deck, 50/50 midrange, and loses against greedier control. Take this against a pirate warrior or aggro pally and you'll find it's pretty good
Mulligan guide? Like do I keep defile in my hand? Or does it depend on what class i'm playing against? P.S Is there something like the deck tracker where I can keep tabs of all the demons i've played for the Warlock DK. Thanks.
I've lost to every single class in every single way possible playing this deck. 2-13 so far.
Not saying it is garbage (
because it's the truth)but I really don't find any win condition while playing it. It SEVERELY lacks some useful finishers. Most games last for way too long just to get destroyed by any surprise spike dmg at the end.Source: WELL PLAYED!!!
Worked on day 1 only because everyone was playing junk decks. It's just not competitive enough even on day 2.
Does Jaraxxus have place?
ive tried it, dont personaly recomend it
i did like twisting nether tho
This deck is surprising me more and more with each game I play!!
I had no idea that all Warlock needed was some insane granular board clears in Defile and Despicable Dreadlord, and some extra life gain in Drain Soul and a nice board swing with Bloodreaver Gul'dan which is surprisingly much easier to play than I originally thought at 10 mana. Also the new hero power is absolutely insane, and the life gain helps a ton against burn and aggressive decks.
I also wanna say how genius of an inclusion both Tainted Zealot and Happy Ghoul are in this deck, Tainted Zealot feels much better than Bloodmage Thalnos, as the card draw is much less powerful in Warlock, and the divine shield really helps set up many more crazy Defile plays than you might expect. Also Happy Ghoul allows for some insane early tempo swings when paired with Drain Soul or Mistress of Mixtures that can help you stabilize the board.
So far I'm 12-2 with the deck, I was able to rank quickly from rank 17 to 11 (I know that doesn't say much but the deck feels very powerful) and outside of The Lich King and Bloodreaver Gul'dan the deck is shockingly cheap with no epics in the deck at all!! On top of all of this the deck is extremely fun to play with many tough decisions having to be made between setting up a strong Defile or sacrificing just enough demons to have a powerful battlecry on Bloodreaver Gul'dan, I would highly recommend the deck!!!
new meta deck
this deck is very good most people are not using the defile at it max potential most are using it for max 2 minions. With the 2 drop zealot and the coil you can set up huge plays not even funny . Just most people dont like complicated deck thay just pick it up and think omg it this deck better be the best ever no you your self have to be good or of course your gana think the deck is trash your not using it to its full potential.
this deck set us huge chain deaths
i swaped king because i dont have it so i have twisting nether insted
I tested it and it's good but just that, it's almost impossible to beat mages, you really need to push a lot of damage early or try to fatigue them. I've created a better deck with kazakus, the deck is based on renolock and it really works in rank 5-2, I have won a lot of games with leeeeeroy + manipulator as final damage
No way near perfect W/R, but still so far one of the best warlock deck out there, still. One of the best to go for if Bloodreaver was the prologoe reward, but not sure if it's worth spending dust on it.
Traded 1 Despicable Dreadlord for a Gnomeferatu, not for strategic reasons but because I love that card. The deck's working failry okay.
EDIT: this is actually a perfect trade. The deck ends up with exactly 7 demons so whenever you play DK you get 4 6/6, 1 4/5 that deals 1 damage to all enemies and 2 1/3 taunts that don't sound like much but since this is a control deck the chances of the opponent having many minions is quite small, making those 2 taunts able to reduce most if not all damage on the 6/6s for a fatal turn 11.
EDIT2: Gnomeferatu already removed 3 legendary cards from my opponents' decks, she's just the best.... oh right, that was in 7 games, not a bad statistic.
played against this decks 7 times today. seems very popular. Won 6 out of 7 with my control ele mage. This deck is not bad, but definitly not super good!
Could you share your ele mage with us? I'd like to try a working version :D
I changed 1 Tainted Zealot and 2 Happy ghouls for 2 Stonehill Defender and 1 Elise Trailblazer (Elise hasn't done much job yet thou XD) so probs gonna change her to something else I guess
My super slow, garbage Frost Lich Jaina deck (with no new cards except for Jaina DK) beats this deck. However, I did lose to this deck once with my Mage, but the game went to Fatigue and the Warlock won be a few health with his healing power.
I feel like the deck featured here is click bait with the 26-2. Yeah 26-2 maybe if you have all the new cards and start at rank 20 yesterday when the expansion came out and everyone is trying out new and goofy stuff.
I believe there is a better formula for Warlock out there and it's funny to see people jumping all over a click bait deck on day one. But hey, that's just my opinion. You do you!
played against this deck 3 times in a row on ladder this morning. good to see day 1 netdecking is still a thing
Lets hit -30.
Could this post be more loud and obnoxious, the world may never know...
