Started off really well with this deck (reached rank 16) but now I'm starting to struggle for some reason. An idea might be to post some ideas/theories about the deck and how best to use it. Especially for newer players like myself.

If you wanted to get primordial glyph/ice block/ice barrier into the original deck, what do you recommend taking out?

Take out a Flamestrike, 2 Loot hoarders and 2 Arcane missiles also you are very right

Lost 3 games in a row pretty badly :( I was pretty good in the beginning and mid game but can't seem to close the game. I get trampled. Any advice? It's fun to play in the beginning for sure.

I'll suggest you multiple options for late game power.

Budget option: 
+1 Bone Drake
+2 Faceless Summoner

-2 Arcane Missiles
-1 Flamestrike

Bling option:
+1 Frost Lich Jaina
+1 Sindragosa
+1 Archmage Antonidas

-1 Flamestrike
-2 Arcane Missiles

Why suggest Arcanologist when there are no secrets in the deck?  Seems like Acidic Swamp Ooze might be a better replacement to have some recourse against decks that depend on weapons.

In theory, if you wish to put at least 3 secrets in your deck, Arcanologist is an amazing card but hey, you do you my friend. Also, I added one more change to make Arcanologist even better.

I'm still more/less newbie, but I do have most of the Mage cards from Frozen Throne (still missing Glacial Mysteries and Frost Lich Jaina). Do you have a recommendation which cards to replace with some from the Frozen Throne maybe?

You can add 2x Ghastly Conjurer to replace Mirror Image since you add an extra body to your deck. If you get Frost Lich Jaina, you can put her in with Sindragosa instead of 1 Firelands Portal and 1 Flamestrike. But I'd recommand waiting until you get both to put them into your deck.

Yeah, I miss Sindragosa too, so I guess I'll have to wait for a while to combine them both. However, I tried to add Prince Malchezaar to my deck (cannot remember which card I replaced at the moment) and it serves me good so far. Been so lucky that I even reached rank 17 in one point (!!!!) That's a huge achievement for a noob like me! :)

I'll try to add Ghastly Conjurer as you suggested, makes total sense! Might even reach unimaginable ranks!! :))

I'm loving this deck right now,gone 4-1 (Though blizzard done fucked up and made my win streak disappear and didn't give me a star for one match for some reason) But otherwise this deck is really good and really simple though I didn't have the dust to craft cabal so I just used tar creeper instead (my go to replacement) and I've had 4 people concede on turns 4-8 it's like an agro control deck and that's pretty flippin amazing

Oh, also, if I were to get frosty J what would I replace?

If you mean Frost Lich Jaina, well my friend, you can replace anything except Water Elemental. But seriously I'd recommand replacing 1 Flamestrike.

Personally, I don't think Ice Walker is a good card, but if you wish to slot it in, I'd recommand replacing it with Arcane Missiles
