Jade Spirit's recent Elemental tag update immediately made me want to try and merge elemental chaining and jade golem growth mechanics into a fun deck.
I'd really like to get this deck running efficiently, so any critique and suggestions for improvement are welcome.
Build Update 1
Removed
-1 Mimic Pod
-2 SI:7 Agent
-1 Blazecaller
Added
+2 Jade Swarmer
These changes improve the consistency of Jade Golem growth, add a couple of good targets for Shadowcaster, and improve card draw, while, most importantly, adding survivability against aggro. All bounce effects have remained, meaning that the more consistent survival into the late game should still allow for great late game shenanigans.
Let me know what you think of the updated build! Of course, I encourage feedback so we can make this deck as good as it can be.
Potential Substitutions
1)
-1 Shadowstep
This suggestion comes from ZBOZZ. Since the new version of the deck isn't so heavily reliant on consistent use of battlecries, instead opting for a greater focus on jade golem growth, Journey Below is a smart inclusion that can land a number of valuable minions. The obvious choices are those with jade synergy, but even cards like Undercity Huckster and Polluted Hoarder can be useful minions.
Video (OLD VERSION): Good guy KiwiiNBacon made a quick deck showcase video.
P.S.: KiwiiNBacon tried the deck out on his stream (before he made the showcase) and went 5-3 (if I counted properly). 1st run (4-0) from 2:41:37-3:08:41, climbed from rank 10 to rank 9. 2nd run (1-3) from 3:30:15-4:04:00, all in rank 9. Here's the link to the stream archive:
What can I replace patches with?
You could try Mistress of Mixtures or Journey Below.
You mean Kalimos, Primal Lord? That's a Shaman card, and cannot be added to this deck.
So, I'm currently running this deck with the substitutions recommended by ZBOZZ a few days ago, which I listed in the description (-1 Shadowstep, -1 Fire Plume Phoenix, +2 Journey Below), and it's working out quite nicely. While I agree that turn 4 is ideally a Jade Spirit turn, the turn 4-5 elemental chain is so important in this deck that I think the inclusion of at least 1 Fire Plume Phoenix is warranted. It's not only a decent tempo play, but it's a good bounce target and can keep the elemental chain alive later in the game. Thanks for the great feedback!
i imagine there is no good replacement for shadowcaster, but what shoud i add instead of her?
Shadowcaster is pretty important in this deck in order to get more value out of your minions and make strong plays in the late game, but you could certainly play this deck without it. If you want to make use of bounce mechanics, you could try Youthful Brewmaster or Gadgetzan Ferryman.
Net-decked this for 10 games because it looked like fun and I have no desire to reach legend.
My score is 3-7, which is pretty bad. Now before anyone says that I didn't play the deck correctly, I totally get that and I won't even attempt to prove you wrong so take my comment with a pinch of salt.
Rank 5:
2-1 versus mage
0-2 versus token shaman
0-1 versus pirate warrior
0-1 versus the greediest Paladin deck of all time, I also kept drawing situational cards like shadowstep when both our hands were small.
0-1 versus Rogue, the deck was too slow to fight the aggro but I did stabilize at 6 health and lost due to a Leeroy topdeck.
1-1 versus Druid, it could've been a 2-0 but Yogg saved him.
The main issue with this deck is that a lot of cards are too slow in this meta, there is a lack of healing and taunts and the deck just gets out-tempo'd a lot of the time. Jade Druid builds jades faster, token shaman has little contest on the board and no taunts or heal gives pirate warrior all day to wreck face.
If I was to make changes to this deck I'd remove 1 (maybe 2) shadowstep/ for a Tar Creeper, 1 Servant for Journey below and 1 Plume Phoenix for SI 7 Agent.
Fun deck though.
Thanks for giving it a shot! I agree that a major problem with the build is that it's a little slow without the right tools to sustain itself for very long. Unfortunately, I don't think there's any real way this deck can be as balanced a hybrid as I'd like it to be and actually be viable, which is really why I am in no way promoting this as a good laddering deck. Your suggestions for changes do sound about right though, so I'll give them a try too. Thanks for the feedback!
No problem! Hope to see more great decks from you.
Sounds good, doesn't work.
I have tried this deck at rank 4 now, and I'm 2-11 with it. It just doesn't work, although I like the idea of an ele/jade tempo rogue. The problem is, that the elemental cards just doesn't give you any tempo - Servant is simply too slow to keep the upper hand against most. Another problem is, that the meta still is very aggro-oriented, which doesn't exactly favor this deck.
Thanks for giving the deck a shot! It's definitely still a work in progress.
That's all right, it's not necessarily a very good deck in its current form. If you'd like to give it another shot, I'd recommend ZBOZZ's substitutions, which I listed in the description. Thanks for the feedback!
I'm missing some cards and I've made some changes. Works perfectly. This is a cheaper personal version if you'd like to try.

I like your version of the deck. Thanks for the feedback!
I've been experimenting with the same concept, except a lot more focused on tempo. Basically taking the core Jade cards and adding the high tempo Elementals. Servant of Kalimos being a major exception as it's definitely not a tempo play - but Jade Spirit now filling the position of the ONLY rogue elemental "class card" (tri-class still counts for discover effect weighting) means you'll get it offered more regularly than Journey Below will offer you Aya or Jade Swarmer. Also I find the average "miss" on an elemental discover is less punishing than on Journey since almost every deathrattle is anti-tempo whereas even a relatively huge elemental discover miss like Frost Elemental can let you freeze out a big threat on curve and speed up your clock by an entire turn.
Also imo Shadowcasters work well in this type of deck but Shadowsteps do not. Try dropping at least one and maybe ditching the Fire Plumes for SI:7s and Tar Creepers. Both are much higher tempo plays, Tar Creeper in particular is fantastic in rogue and is an elemental besides.
Thanks for the great feedback!
I find that Shadowstep allows not only for reuse of good battlecries, but also allows Rogue to trade comfortably with cards that have good battlecries to have a powerful effect on the board. The obvious choices for turns like this include the Shadowcasters, The Vilespine Slayers, the Servants of Kalimos, and, best of all, the Blazecaller. However, even weaker cards like Fire Plume Phoenix and Jade Spirit can have really profitable trades into Shadowstep replays. Of course, the chance that you'll actually find yourself in the position to make a play like this is relatively low, but I don't think it's entirely without merit to have Shadowstep in the deck and extend the value of your battlecry minions.
Your recommendations are pretty interesting though, so I'll test them when I get some time to play again.
How about adding in N'zoth the Corruptor?
I think that N'Zoth is an obvious choice for a jade rogue that focuses entirely on deathrattles, but that's not really the direction in which this deck is going. N'Zoth could potentially be an awful draw and a dead turn 10 play if you aren't able to get multiple Ayas and jade swarmers going before he gets drawn. There are other jade rogue builds on here which really go all out with deathrattles and N'Zoth, but I don't really think he fits in this deck.
Sorry, I forgot to mention that I was trying to make a "budget" version of this if someone doesn't have an Aya/Thalnos/Patches... what would you recommend to replace any of these? Digging in the Rogue bargain bin, I was going to substitute them with deadly fork... but IDK...
I guess you could try adding back +2 SI:7 Agent and either +1 Vilespine Slayer or +1 Blazecaller.
