Hello,
This deck is inspired by Bloor's Pala-RENO but I've made quite a few changes to make it a little bit more consistent (I don't find cards like Eadric the Pure often useful) and adding some additional strong battlecries and Brann Bronzebeard. Cards like Defender of Argus and Bomb Lobber work particularly well with him, while still holding strong battlecries of their own. I know 99% of people run Zombie Chow over Gadgetzan Jouster, but here we have a chance of double buff and I don't see the value in chow except in cases of aggro where you have a much higher chance of winning the joust. Will do a full guide if this gets +50, currently playing at Rank 5
Edit:
General Gameplay tips:
When you think you might be facing aggro (Paly, Warlock to some extent, Hunter, Mage) it is a good play to keep Reno Jackson in your opening hand, especially if you are going first. If it's a warlock, it's also nice if you get Big Game Hunter as you can use him as a body if needed but he will be very handy if it winds up being control. Mulliagan for your low drops like Jeweled Scarab, Coghammer, Muster for Battle, Brann Bronzebeard (sometimes he has to be sacrificed to save face damage), Gadgetzan Jouster, Ironbeak Owl, Shielded Minibot, Argent Protector, etc. If they wind up being a control deck, then don't waste your Owl, Argent, and Brann, just try to bait removals with dorks and "pretend" you are a secret Palay to get them to play around the wrong deck.
Against Control, you need to play very slow and very conservatively. Against control warrior this deck seems to perform fairly well, but you need to strike a balance between posing a threat and baiting their removals while thinking about the late game. Try to keep their armor down to reasonable levels. If you can get them to Reno Jackson early you have a good chance of winning, as they won't be able to keep up with your two dorks per turn (after Justicar Trueheart).
Tech Cards:
Gadgetzan Jouster can be swapped out for Zombie Chow if you don't feel like it's consistent enough or you have early game trouble
Argent Protector can easily be swapped for Earthen Ring Farseer to give you a stronger early game in aggro matchups, plus he can stack up to a big heal with Brann
Justicar Trueheart can be swapped out for Loatheb but I only recommend this if you are at a place in the ladder where there's lots of Aggro and Tempo decks, as it will hurt your late game against control decks significantly
Tuskarr Jouster can be swapped out for Antique Healbot if you are having trouble with health in the mid game
Great deck, although not sure about Bomb Lobber. Went for Loatheb instead.
this is a great deck went 4-1 so far, that one loss was a face hunter. I replacedLay on Hands with Antique Healbot because it can combo well with Brann Bronzebeard for a 16 hp heal for 8 mana
Glad you like it, good idea on the substitution, do you feel like you still have enough card draw?
yeah i still have good enough card draw, you can keep Lay on Hands i just put a Antique Healbot just in case i didn't get reno when i needed him so i can have a mini 14-16 heal with Tuskarr Jouster or Antique Healbot with Brann and with the combo i had more people concede to me then any other decks i played lol
That's great, I'd been considering squeezeing a Antique Healbot in there but I had planned on swapping out Tuskarr Jouster, glad it worked for you!
Works Perfectly for me thank you. i reached rank 7 from 11 non stop i finally lost by a tempo mage but i had bad hand. i have 81% win ratio till now http://prntscr.com/974v54. Cheers!
This deck is actually really bad in the current meta.
You need to have lucky draws in the first turns or you just can't do shit.
Hate to ask but any replacement for Sylvanas Windrunner? I will be replacing Justicar Trueheart with Loatheb? Will Faceless Manipulator work?
I'm running it with faceless and its working very well... much more versatility... leave the chance up to the mind control drop 4 XD
Lame deck ever agains aggro deck, lose for absoluty every one.
LOL this guy got downvoted, but he speaks absolute truth. Reno Paladins are terrible win condition-less control decks that just arent nearly as good as warrior, warlock, or priest.
Maybe for himself and you he speaks the truth, but that speaks more to your and his skill than this deck. I've only lost once against agro with it.
"I lucked out and actually had the low end of this deck's curve, so it's actually good against agro. If you lose to it, I think you lack skill." ~ Paly_Noob 2015
Why did you remove Keeper of Uldaman?? Seems like an auto-include in a Pali Bran deck.
EDIT: Never mind, I'm just learning Brann, I see that Keeper only triggers twice on the same creature. Still a great card though, it just won me a game.
My Stampeding Kodo just didn't work with Warlock's Jeweled Scarab, while killing his Imp Gang Boss, certainly having Brann Bronzebeard on board.
yes.
I went from Rank 13 to 8 without a loss, but now I'm stuck there. I think the problem is too few options for the early game, since once I got to the mid/late game I rarely lost.
This is from Rank 8 EU:
Total Games played: 20, Winrate: 50.00%, All: 10-10
========================================================
Druid Games played: 2, Winrate: 100.00%, All: 2-0
Hunter Games played: 3, Winrate: 66.67%, All: 2-1
Priest Games played: 2, Winrate: 50.00%, All: 1-1
Paladin Games played: 4, Winrate: 50.00%, All: 2-2
Warrior Games played: 2, Winrate: 50.00%, All: 1-1
Warlock Games played: 2, Winrate: 0.00%, All: 0-2
Mage Games played: 5, Winrate: 40.00%, All: 2-3
If you are having trouble with early game, you might try swapping out the Gadgetzan Jouster for a Zombie Chow and the Argent Protector for something like Earthen Ring Farseer to give you more options and consistency.
why's everyone going full on highlander with reno decks? that's not necessary.
