*Updated decklist after all of League of Explorers has been released*
I'm considering building this deck. How is it performing in the ladder currently Vs things like Secret Paladin and Aggro Shaman?
Hi, how much have you actually played with Rafaam in the deck? Are you finding him to be worthwhile? Are you able to utilize him as a win condition? Which artifact do you find yourself usually choosing? I guess I'm just not completely sold on the card yet., and not entirely sure he fits in control paladin. But i could be wrong.
Rafaam has replaced the 2nd quartermaster as an alternative late game win condition. He's almost always worth it and the artifact I choose varies heavily on the state of the game, but in general the best one to take is the Lantern of Power since it turns any Silver Hand Recruit left on board in to an 11/11 that bashes their face for lethal which is really nice since it gives the deck significant burst potential.
they have unique and irreplaceable effects. There's a reason why I selected them for the deck, I'm sorry there are no budget options. :(
Tuskarr Jouster is basically a much worse antique healbot since you can't consistently win jousts due to early game minions like Chow, Minibot, and Aldor are required cards. As for Quartermaster he is the most powerful end game win condition for this deck as he can be used in the mid game to gain value and tempo and additionally gives you tremendous burst damage in the end game by buffing 5+ dudes at the same time. Also now that Arch-Thief Rafaam exists you get to play him over a card like ysera since Rafaam is usually used to tutor up the +10/+10 artifact to turn any surviving silver hand recruit in to an 11/11 that gets to bash face, finally giving paladin a reasonable amount of burst damage.
So if you haven't gotten LoE yet can Shredders replace the Keepers?
Keeper of Uldamon is a mandatory 2 of in this deck. It has an incredibly unique effect and helps control paladin with one of its biggest weaknesses which is dealing with singular large minions like ysera. You can play other cards in place of keeper but they will be much worse.
What are your thoughts about Harrison Jones in the meta currently? It feels like I am seeing lots of pally and warrior still in what I am playing against but even then its a bit of a situational card at best. I guess the body for the mana is always decent though. Its just such a good counter to opposing pally muster.
The Black Knight might also be something to consider. Sludge Belcher is seeing TONS of play right now. I am really just kicking around other card options that might fit.
I just wanted to comment that I got the list together and played it in a few games now. I really love the list so far. I still need to test and play it more but I love the concept and how it plays.
EDIT: one of my first games was very close to a mirror match. He ran a few different cards but I ended up winning it with your list.
Worst control deck ever. I can't normal control board. Mages (especially freeze), druides and zoo destory all my control. All time i haven't cards in my hand. Or write full guide, or your story about legend with this deck - lie.
I honestly have no idea how you have problems controlling the board. In a paladin list with Zombie Chow, Minibot, Muster, Owl (for deathrattle sticky things), FIVE different AoE spells, Aldor for midgame things like shredder, and mid-game quartermaster potential, it's really not that hard to have board control. Unless you're unlucky and only draw your end game cards you must be playing poorly if you're constantly losing the board.
I realy can not understand this, only played 19 games so far but only one left me without cards to play.
I'm 14:5 at the moment and honestly I'm not even a good player.
The deck has so many ways to stay clean it is awsome. I faced 6 mages, all have been freeze mages) and still have 50:50.
Of course it feels akward at some turns (as an arena player, which is what I would call myselfe) to not do anything but heropower, but there is nor reason with this deck to push Aldor Peacekeeper on an empty board at turn 3. It will have a use later so just heropower. Against Druid I'm 4:0... so you are either very bad or just a liar. Most rush type stuff gets brutally destroyed because they leave recruits up or getting 2 time consecrated.
Best game was against a contrl warrior, lets say I controled harder than he. Of course for this you stack big threads in your hand and bother them with smal stuff and heropower. He had Justicar Trueheart and over all probably armored for 60...
@SirFunchalot Thanks for the deck, my name is due to this one :D

enhance-o mechano is a bad card and you should never play it in constructed. It's inconsistent, win more, and therefore worse than defender of argus, especially in a deck like this, which doesnt even want to play argus anyway.
As for zombie chow it's a mandatory 2 of I think as it's necessary to have early minions to combat aggressive starts in the current meta.
Nice idea, the first deck I ever made that was somewhat successful in Ranked was a control type Paladin, mainly with big taunts, a few months back. I'll have to try this one out, I did pull Eadric in a pack and have been wondering how to work him in to a deck.
Also, love the avatar! Great album
ogh, now i regret of dusting golden eadric any good replacement??
There's not really a true replacement for Eadric as like most legendary minions his effect is unique. Just add another card that helps out whatever your common matchups are.
shitty deck no card draw cept lay on hands fvcking lost games cause run out of cards
This isn't an aggressive midrange deck, you shouldn't be playing heavily for tempo in most matchups and you're not looking to curve out and bash your opponents face in. This is a control deck so you need to use your removal when necessary and gain card advantage through efficient trading , your hero power, and AoE removal.
Lol, so what you're saying is you don't know how to play control?
The meta has really ruined the game, people think tempo is the only way to play.
