Total Deck Rating

So, I accidentally deleted my previous version :/
Basically, I ranked with this deck from 7 to 2. with a 66% (75%) winrate. I later got to legend with a different deck (Midrange Dragon Warrior, yall should check it out), but I believe this deck is competitive and can get to legend on it's own. Usually you don't win with Malygos, rather the damage from Doomhammer combined with burst from spells will usually kill them.
Total: 33-11
Druid: 2-1
Hunter: 6-0
Mage: 2-1
Paladin: 6-0
Priest: 2-1
Rogue: 1-0
Shaman 6-0
Warlock: 5-2
Warrior: 3-5
Other cards to consider: Possible Cards to Replace:
Earth Shock Forked Lightning
2nd Feral Spirit Ragnaros the Firelord
2nd Lava Burst Ancestor's Call
Azure Drake Far Sight
Antique Healbot Hex
Al'Akir the Windlord
Matchups:
Should be the similar to Freeze Mage.
Edit: August 30th
I started playing the deck again since my initial run. Double Hex is just too much, and doesn't do enough. Ragnaros the Firelord seems to outclass Al'Akir the Windlord, especially since we run double Doomhammer, although it is a Big Game Hunter target. Double Feral Spirit was also too much so I added Far Sight for a little card draw and additional combo-ability.
Out: Feral Spirit Hex Al'Akir the Windlord Azure Drake
In: Lava Burst Far Sight Ragnaros the Firelord Gadgetzan Auctioneer
Edit:September 3rd
Gadgetzan Auctioneer is Amazing !!
Out: Lava Burst Feral Spirit
In: Gadgetzan Auctioneer Forked Lightning
Total: 35-15 (70%)
Token Druid: 2-1
Face Hunter: 3-2
Midrange Hunter: 2-0
Mech Mage: 1-1
Flood Paladin: 5-2 (Both times they got Tirion Fordring off Ancestor's Call BabyRage)
Secret Paladin: 6-0
Dragon Priest: 5-0
Deathlord Priest: 2-0
Oil Rogue: 1-0
Totem Shaman: 4-2
Handlock: 1-1
Patron Warrior: 2-0
Control Warrior: 1-6
Loaded this deck up to play it again (for fun).
Turn 7: Madame Mage plays Dr. Boom onto already menacing board.
Turn 8: I play Ancestor's Call to bring Malygos out and summon her Ragnaros the Firelord to the board in the process. I then play Lightning Storm to wipe her board, including the two "big minions" she planned to win the game with.
That's gotta sting a little bit. She used both Fireballs to clear Malygos on her next turn, but it was easy to finish her off with Doomhammer, et. al.
15% win rate, took me from rank 7 to 12
Sorry to hear bud. You should try the deck out in Casual first if you care about your rank. At your rank I encourage you to play Combo Druid, Demon Zoolock, or an aggressive Mech deck with Fel Reaver.
Also try to learn why you aren't winning rather than commenting that a deck sucks. Because nearly every archetype of deck that has reached legend can reach legend if you tech certain cards and pilot the deck correctly.
Charged Hammer is too slow and too costly. We don't usually have ton's of leftover mana to put into ping and we will usually kill them by turn 10. Doomhammer is the main win condition and the work it does can't be replaced by Charged Hammer.
Charged Hammer works best in a Control Shaman or Dragon Shaman, where you plan to win the war of attrition.
How are you 6-0 against secret paladins? I can't beat any of them
You just kill all of their guys. They can't really do anything past turn 6.
4 games so far, 2/2, but loving this deck! I really hoped the new spells would make ancestor's call viable. After the first 2 losses I squeezed in Dr. Boom and 2 Shredders to give this deck the best board advantage it can muster. It seems to work in these 2 games, especially if I get Far Sight or Thaurissan on Dr. Boom.
If you do that I feel like you should just convert the deck into a control Shaman or a Dragon Shaman. But for your deck currently I like the [card]Piloted Shredder[/card], because it can do so much work. but I don't like Dr. Boom, since by turn 7 we want to be setting up for lethal or draw a bunch of card to set up lethal. It also gets in the way of Ancestor's Call, you would never want to AC the Dr. Boom unlike every other minion. Al'Akir the Windlord is a better fit to Control the Board.
Yeah, with the Dr. Boom I'd call it control, but I don't know how to make it even more "controlly" and be more successful. At least boom bots hitting face and Boom's huge attack don't go to waste in such a bursty deck. I really wanna play control shaman in TGT and hope someone finds the sweet spot for the deck. I'll have to play a lot of it, thanks for giving me the double doomhammer malygos rag framework to play with. It's like giant mage with the boom, I guess, very heavy control with big minions and burst.
I had trouble imagining a scenario where I'd want auctioneer more than boom, cuz it seemed like comboing a 6 mana creature with spells later in the game was slower or reliant on mana cost reducers. That said, auctioneer could easily draw 10+ damage and I might try to fit it back in. Al'akir has always left me unimpressed in Ancestor's Call decks unless I'm running flametongue/reincarnate/AS.
Is it correct sometimes to use ancestors call to call out ragnaros for cheap in the early game?
Yeah. But don't do it vs. Warrior or Shaman because they have easy removal.
How is there a lot of luck with the build. Most of the time, our card draw gives us different solutions to combat any RNG.
You lose out on 16 damage and a reliable win condition with Rockbiter Weapon. I don't think there is enough card draw or sustain to Cut a Doomhammer.
This looks like a fun deck so I'd like to give it a try. The only pieces I'm missing are the Malygos and Elemental Destruction(x2). I was planning to craft Maly anyway so that's not a problem, but I really am hesitant to blow the dust on the Elemental Destructions since it seems like such a niche card. Have you found them to be necessary? I was thinking of swapping in two Azure Drakes instead, or maybe one Drake and Al'Akir the Windlord.
Yes Elemental Destruction is necessary if you plan on ranking to Legend. I'd say good replacements are a Azure Drake and a Forked Lightning. Feral Spirit and Hex are probably pretty strong as well. If you can spare to craft 1 Elemental Destruction I encourage you to do so since you can build into Control Shaman, and make this deck competitive.
Alright, you talked me into it.
Thanks man. Here's a +1
Do you have any footage of you playing this deck because I would very much like to learn this deck, but cannot seem to get the hang of it for the life of me
No, sorry mate. Just practice a bit in Casual, but you may have gotten a hang of it already
What do you try and mulligan for in this deck? Also, do you think you could give a more in deck guide in general? Thanks for the deck btw. I have been trying to get malygos shaman to work for ages.
