Introduction
Sup Guys I'm back and I like to share my Deck which I use to climb to Rank 5 with pretty much every season before switching to another Deck for the legend grind.
For the people who don't know me I'm xBlaine and I play Hearthstone for Vengeance eSports.
I am a theorycrafter and build a bunch of Decks together with my lovly beard friend Emogirly.
So let's get into it.
I love the card Hobgoblin.
The sound when you play him and the possibility to turn tiny minions into big threats.
I'd normaly played some Hobgoblin-Mech version of the Hobgoblin Deck ,but for this season i thought i use the old school Token-Druid Deck and give it some Hobolove.
REMEMBER!
Summoned cards like the Tokens of the Violet Teacher will not be buffed by Hobgoblin.
Hobgoblin only buffs cards that were "PLAYED" from your hand , not summoned by another card effect.
The Deck
Hobgoblin buffs 1-Attack minions with a +2/+2 Buff so we need to run some minions who will benefit of it.
in a Mech-Version of this Deck i would go with Micro Maschine , Cogmaster
and Annoy-o-Tron but in this Comboversion i stick with Minions like Argent Squire , basicly as a 1/1 Divineshield drop for 1 Mana this card is already preety good but buffed up by a Hobgoblin this card is a 3/3 with Divine shield which is insane.
Stonetusk Boar is actually really good i was suspicious when I concideder playing him earlier but after trying the Boar in Hobgoblin-Hunter I think the piggy has potential.
3/3 with Charge is awesome , also if you use the piggy without the Hobgoblin you can still go full Combo with Piggy.
Force of Nature + Stonetusk Boar + Savage Roar => 17 Dmg.
Or even
Leeroy Jenkins + Stonetusk Boar x2 + Savage Roar => 16 Dmg
Bloodmage Thalnos is pretty much a Circle card he can be a 3/3 or even a 5/5 with Spellpower +1 which is nice you can use him for 2 DMG wraths or 5 DMG AOE swipes.
Haunted Creeper & Echoing Ooze are powerful cards in combination with Hobgoblin they become 3/4-Minions with heavy field presents.
If they kill a Haunted Creeper he will drop 2 Tokens which deal more dmg in a Savage Roar Combo than the one Creeper would.
The Novice Engineer is there for some Carddraw 3/3 draw a card is decent.
i decided not to play Acolyte of Pain because i prefer the instant card draw.
Then we come to the Violet Teacher Enginee of the Deck.
The teacher fills up you field with 1/1-Tokens everytime you cast a spell.
The Tokens can be buffed with Power of the Wild or Savage Roar for OTKs.
Nourish offers Carddraw or an early Mana lead which can be really useful some games.
Swipe , Wrath & Claw offer early Removals against aggro Decks , you can also use Claw in Finishing Combos.
Emperor Thaurissan reduces the cost of the Combo plays to nearly 0 Mana.
Gameplay
The most important question is when to drop the Hobgoblin.
This guy is a 2/3 Body on the field and pretty much every removal can clear him.
So if you don't benefit instantly when you drop him than don't drop him.
Mostlikly you drop him around turn 4/5 so you atleast would get another Buffed minion on the board.
The Combo is preety much the same like the normal druids.
Get board controll , push enemy into Combo range and then burst him down.
Remember the Combo Burst Dmg in this Deck is higher than 14 dmg.
f.E.
Mulligans
Druid
Mulligan for Violet Teacher , Innervate , Echoing Ooze , Haunted Creeper & Power of the Wild.
You wanna stablilize and float the board asap to controll the board.
Play around Swipe and you should be fine.
Ramp Druid will taunt up and you won't be able to clear everything so win befor they drop Ancient of War to win this.
Against Combo Druid : ~55% Winrate
Against Ramp Druid : ~40% Winrate
Shaman
Legends say there are still Shaman player on the Ladder.
Mulligan for Argent Squire , Wrath , Claw & Violet Teacher.
You wanna clear the early Mech minions your opponent drops.
Lightning Storm is pretty much your only big Problem with Hobgoblin on the Board pretty much all of you minions will survive that and you can Combo them to death.
Just take care of your HP and clear their early Mechs.
Against Mech Shaman : ~60% Winrate
Against "normal" Shaman : ~100% Winrate (played 2)
Priest
Keep your Wrath for the Cleric and othere wise keep Echoing Ooze , Power of the Wild and Violet Teacher.
Priest will mostlikly try to AoE clear your field with Holy Nova play around that and you should be able to OTK them.
Against Controllish Priest: 80% Winrate
Paladin
Paladin is a real Butthurt for this Deck because Paladins use to play heavy AoE clears with Concecration and Taunts like Sludge Belcher pretty much the worst Match Up for this Deck is Controll Paladin.
If you can't build up early pressure with Hobgoblin you will most likly lose.
So Mulligan for Innervate, Hobgoblin & 1-Attack Drops.
Against Controll Paladin: 35% Winrate
Against Aggro Paladin: 50% Winrate
Hunter
The Hunter Match-Ups are easy Mulligan for Wrath , Argent Squire and Claw to clear of their minions and stay at higher HP than fill up your board and kill them.
Against Face Hunter: 60% Winrate
Against Mid Range Hunter: 50% Winrate
Warrior
The match up against Controll Warrior is much easier than the one against Patron Warrior.
Patron will clear of your entire board if you don't buff them so keep your Hobgoblin and combo him out.
Against Controll Warrior float the board early with Echoing Ooze and Haunted Creeper buff them with Power of the Wild to gain board controll and then finish with Savage Roar.
Take care of Brawl
Against Controll Warrior: 55%
Against Patron Warrior: 45%
Mage
Mech Mage is always a coin Flip , if he got Coin and double Mechwarper you are mostlikly going to lose.
Take Wrath to clear this things.
Against Freeze Mage you wanna use the same strat as against Controll Warrior and Ramp Druid , win early or you gonna lose.
Tempo/Walker Mage needs Hobgoblins in your hand.
Against Mech Mage: 50% Winrate
Against Freeze Mage: 45% Winrate
Against Tempo Mage: 50% Winrate
Rogue
Rogue is the mean kid at school that takes away all your foodmoney.
Blade Flurry is going to be the nightmare for this Deck.
Try to play around it sounds easier than it is.
Stick with Hobgoblin & Violet Teacher and pray that he can't remove your whole board.
Against Oil Rogue: 40%
Warlock
Hobgoblin Decks do amazingly fine against Handlock as long as you keep them out of the Molten Giant Range and burst them down in one turn.
Keep cards like Hobgoblin , Argent Squire and Power of the Wild.
Take care of early Removals.
Against Zoo it's a coin flip.
If you don't brick you win.
If you brick you'll lose.
Stick with Claw, Wrath , Haunted Creeper & Swipe
Against Handlock: 50%
Against Zoolock: 50%
Replacements
Bloodmage Thalnos =>Acolyte of Pain
It's just for the Card draw so it should be fine.
Nourish => Ancient of Lore / Loatheb / Jeeves
For Carddraw or Stalling
Leeroy Jenkins => Druid of the Claw
4/4 Charge is also okay and you can Taunt him up against Zoo / Face hunter.
Force of Nature => Druid of the Claw
This will lower your win conditions tho..
Emperor Thaurissan => Druid of the Claw
The Druid is fine Thaurissan is better tho..
Changes
I replaced Nourish with Ancient of Lore because I prefer the extra body on the field also the tree generates a heal if needed.
I barely used Nourish for the extra Mana so it was just a 5 Mana draw 3 which gave up so much pressure.
Added x2 Keeper of the Groove for silence.
Last words
So guys this was my full guide of this Deck i ended up hittng Rank 5 with Deck kinda easily after that I would concider playing othere Decks because this Deck will take ages to grind at high levels.
Sorry for my bad english , English is my forth language.
If you guys wanna see more Hobgoblin Decks just leave a like around 20 Likes I'm gonna post my Mech-Hobo-Hunter which i use on tournaments.

EDIT
If someone feels like doing a video testing out this Deck feel free to post it in the comments I will add the Video into the post and give you some credits!
EDIT #2
Forgot to mention that hobgoblin doesn't buff summoned minions (Tokens).
Video
Thanks to Khristophesaurus for the Video!
Check out his YouTube.
No idea if the deck is good or not, but I am giving this a thumbs up due to the cute anime girls.
Like i said It's not a grinding Deck i usually play Hobgoblin Deck till i hit Rank 5 for the grinding i go for Facehunter / Zoo / Patron or Walker Mage.
Because with a 51% win Rate deck at it's finest you won't grind legend withing 2 weeks.
So yeah ofc it's just a fun/gimick Deck it contains Hobgoblins.
I have never tried Cairne at all Cairn doesn't seem to be that great imo.
Innervate is awesome if you open up with early hobgoblin Combos or Voilet Teacher for pressure.
This deck has been money for me. Def been having a bit of trouble with Oil Rogue though. Any suggestions on an answer for the early board removal/blade fury? Great deck though!
Well mostlikly would concider playing Loatheb. that would atleast delay one turn.
Seems like it could use Jeeves.
nice to see some different druid decks out there!
Well the card says "plays" which is a mechanic which says "play a card from your hand" while "summon" would work with Unleash and stuff.
Im Sorry :c
Done.
Better Luck next time buddy^^
This guy's deck is CRRRRRRAAAAAAZZZZAAAYYY!!! Haha, had some fun with this deck on ladder today :p ! Unfortunately I only faced Paladin while recording but might have been good timing for this deck though! Think the Paladins are trying to counter all the Warriors and Handlocks on ladder? Idk whatever good for this deck! Sometimes you just gotta not even care if they have removal and learn from the :SMOrc: :4Head: ! Thanks for the post and enjoy my gameplay :D !
Thanks for the great video!
I hope you don't mind if i put it in the post :c
Very well played
Greetings Blaine
Thank you! Nope! I don't mind go ahead! I try I try :p !
I promised to post a Hob-Hunter around 20 likes. I'm gonna do this as soon as i finished my list. the list still needs some work !
Thanks for the support guys!
Does it work with only one Hobgoblin? I'm guessing probably not, but I own this entire deck already except for the second Hob and Leeroy Jenkins. I'm trying not to craft anymore non-legends, as I already crafted Force of Nature and some Paladin staples I couldn't pull - that and I still need a Big Game Hunter!
Well it still works, it's less explosiv tho.
And I would keep the Hobgoblin if you got him in your Starting hand.
Thanks for the deck! I am also a hobby fan ;) But I made a few changes after facing some initial challenges.
Replacing the Haunted Creepers with Annoy-o-Trons is a big win; the buffed shield is really brutal, and this deck could use a taunt or two. And for about the same cost as Leeeeeroy, Dark Wispers (usually a card I avoid) can be pretty amazing. Cast on the echos late game can totally shift things 'round (or do the wisp assault!)
Finally, while I hear what you say about the Novice Engineer I think a Cult Master might be a better choice (plus isn't worthless as a minion if you don't have hobby up.)
Keep up the good work!
I wouldn't replace the Haunted Creepers they are awesome with the Token Engieen. Maybe if you face more Hunters then i like the Annoy-o-Tron too but against Patron Warrior they are mostlikly dead.
Would still try out to cut 1Argent Squire & 1 Haunted Creeper for x1 Annoy-o-Tron & x1 Cult Master.
I like the Idea of Cult Master eventhough the Manacost are freaking high.
I won't play Dark Wispers it's an okayish cards i play Leeroy for the finishing Burst Combos the Whisp don't offer Charge so I would lose potential Burst Damage for x5 1/1 Minions..
Greetz Blaine
I have my own hobo-token Druid on NA. Mine is closer to traditional combo-version and had only 8 units for hobo's buff. Not sure in my version in 2 Acolytes and in your - in Thaurissan.
Looks fun, I'll give it a try at the beggining of next season ;)
This deck is insanely fun
