NEWS: If you would like to ask any questions that haven't been answered in the guide already check out my stream at http://www.twitch.tv/sigmasrb tomorrow at 2 PM CEST! I will try to stream at this time in between 3-5 days a week where I will be playing all of my decks plus some Handlock, Oil Rogue, or Grim Patron.
Hello guys Sigma here and this is my version of the brand new patch season 14 dragon priest deck! If we reach 20 likes I will try my best to write a full guide for this amazing deck!
Edit: Thank you for the upvotes guys, I really appreciate it! Unfortunately I don't have that much time to write a full on guide as I have a lot of uni obliagations but I promise I will start writing it asap!
I am still testing this deck so if you have any suggestions or comments please write them in the comments! The deck is not perfected yet so please make sure you are comfortable with it in Casual before taking it to Constructed!
EDIT: After playing around with this deck, doing some research online and looking at people's feedback I decided to make some massive changes to the deck as dragons in general aren't really working out for the priest. Even though I really wanted a full on priest dragon deck, I was thinking a deck like this might be viable and my research and testing hasn't proven me wrong. The deck felt really plastic and just didn't sit well and as I can see from the number of the critics, there had to be a massive change made. I will be testing this deck further.
I do appreciate all kinds of criticism, but I appreciate constructive criticism more! :)
You can check out my other decks at http://www.hearthpwn.com/members/sigmasrb/decks !
Cheers,
Sig
This deck isn't currently that good in the meta so it doesn't have that high priority in my book right now but I will get to it at some point!
It has potential.. here are my changes and winning several streaks at rank 15-14: Vol'jin and Ysera swapped out for Black Knight and Loetheb. Useless Volcanic Corruptors swapped out for Azure Drake and Twilight Drake. And may swap zombie chows for twilight whelps since they will almost always one drop as same 2/3 with no upside for opponent.
Interesting changes. Black Knight might do well in this meta, as there are a lot of Handlocks going around. That's about it though, nobody else is using hard taunts except ramp druids, so Black Knight might not be that good. I don't see how you see Azure Drakes better as Blackwing Corruptors and Twilight Drakes better than Volcanic Drakes but try out different things, love the game. I would really recommend Zombie Chows as they can be played on turn 1 and are a strong early game threat.
For being a deck called "New Meta" I can't figure out how this ever wins against aggro. There are zero taunts. Have an explanation? I'm not seeing it.
The deck was called New Meta Bash, as it really did do well against the meta at that time. Priests can also handle aggro without taunts, you just need to do your combos properly. I do believe that priest has high chances of winning against aggro even without putting himself behind a big taunt like Deathlord. Having the Zombie Chows which can deal with early game with ease and Wild Pyromancers + Power Word: Shield and even Northshire Clerics to be an early game threat and with Auchenai Soulpriests + Circle of Healing midgame, I dont see you can you have big problems early now. Maybe you're doing something wrong.
Would Light of the Naaru have a spot in this?
You can play around and put it in, yes. As the priest is dragon, some cards had to be taken out of the regular priest and that was one of them.
Thank you so much!
Thank you very much!
Depending what you are facing really, in general you would want to go for Zombie Chows, as they lose value as the game progresses. Versus aggro decks you want to have that Northshire Cleric in your hand or a Wild Pyromancer +Power Word: Shield so you can clear something like a face hunter. Against Control you want to optimally have an Injured Blademaster and a Circle of Healing, so don't keep the Northshire Cleric, as it's going to be alone on the board and most likely face let's say an Armorsmith, which will only get a lot of armor from the cleric.
I would say that you can replace him like that, but don't expect same results.
Not that well I'm afraid. I changed it and it worked a lot better without him.
very bad decks get upvoted very unnecessarily
I agree. So many absolute dogshit decks are getting massive upvotes. Feels like it's 1 dude creating a ton of accounts and upvote it. Dunno...
I agree, there alot of decks that are typical that get upvotes for no good reason
I would appreciate a constructive comment saying what could/should be changed so that we can discuss it instead of just saying "Yeah this deck is shit." If you claim that and post a comment that's trashing my deck you will not be taken seriously. That goes for all three of you.
I haven't tried THIS deck..but all I can really say is most people judge wayyy too quick without testing a deck.. Whether its assuming a deck is great or terrible "on paper". The only current front page super upvoted deck I have tried is the MajorDomo Mage Grinder which has had super criticism on it to the point the poor guy made a completely 2nd version without it on a side deck list just for people who scream and cry over it...and yet the decks actually had amazing results from both me and everyone I know who has tested it. LASTLY; I DON'T KNOW WHY NO ONE UNDERSTANDS THIS, BUT THE "UPVOTE SYSTEM" IS NOT A "THIS DECK IS GOOD NETDECK IT QUICK" SYSTEM... There is quite a bit of factors for upvoting rather than "omg this got me free legend use it".
Unfortunately I don't have Sylvanas. But she would be a very good addition, yes.
-Faggy Dragon + BGH
Sounds good!
I have been working on a ladder ready dragon priest deck since brm was fully released, my variant is currently 12-8, so not great, but I've got some great ideas from what this has differently! Thanks for the post and can't wait to try it!!
