Update: After playing with the deck, and seeing what other people have been doing with quest warlock, I have made a few changes to the list.
Tour Guide in replacement of Rain of Fire. It can accomplish basically the same task while also drawing a card.
Defile is out simply because quest warlock and quest hunter are the most played decks at the moment on ladder. Both don't really produce boards that defile will help much with.
Unstable Shadow Blast and Chittering Tunneler have both come out to allow room for Darkglare, Unlicensed Apothecary, and Flesh Giant. These cards are just objectively better in most match ups.
This deck has performed much better than anticipated. I have been using this deck to rank up from Bronze 10 to Diamond 10 with a 73% win rate. It is capable of completing the quest by 5 turn, or on turn 5 most games. And then finishing off your opponent in the next 1-2 turns.
A few things to note when playing this deck. Damage doesn't carry over between quest tiers. So try and play a Rain of Fire or Life Tap when you are 1 damage away from completing a stage.
Crystallizer is an MVP of this deck and should always be kept in an opening hand. She can tear through quest stages as well as provide a 1 mana gain 5 armor, do 5 damage minion after you complete the quest.
Chittering Tunneler is a card most people won't anticipate. You can dig for specific cost spells to complete a stage of the quest or the dream is to discover DOOM! when you are in go mode. A 3 mana Pyroblast anyone?
The Soularium is mostly for drawing low cost, high damage, cards once you are in go mode. However don't be afraid to use it to dig for a specific removal or damage card when you are questing. There is plenty of damage in the deck if you discard a card or two.
Keep loosing to aggro. What to do?
Aggressive decks are the scissors to this deck being paper. It is a hard match to win, but if you are finding yourself playing a lot of aggressive decks then you can take out the Unlicensed Apothecary for Defile or other anti-aggro tech cards. Either way aggressive decks will be hard to beat.
Delfile actually saved this deck for me. I went from bronze 10 all the way to Plat 2 and then kept losing to agro decks until I switched to Delfile and started winning again. Thanks for the advice.
I saw this deck in a video on YT and for the first time i decided to play wild. I had no extra bonus stars, so I got only 1 extra star for win streaks and started on bronze10. I reached legend with 120-35, 77% win rate . I was above 95% when I reached plat10. I only played this deck while climbing.
It is an incredibly fun deck to play. I've seen variants of this deck playing molten giants, but this version feels a lot more consistent. Turn 6-7 wins usually.
Hyper aggro decks counter it, but still fun.
From diamond10 to legend I had the following results:
DH: 2-0
Druid: 2-0
Hunter: 7-4
Mage: 5-0
Pala: 5-0
Priest: 2-4
Rogue: no matches
Shaman: 0-2
Warlock: 8-1
Warrior: 3-1
Total: 34-12, 74%
The 4 priest losses were against aggro shadow priests. Any other priest has just no chance against this deck. Overall I went 18-4 against priests.
I haven't enjoyed HS like with this deck for a while now, so thanks for this.
The Molten Giant versions are a lot more glass cannon style as they run little to no healing cards. I too like this version more as the extra healing can help keep other decks from eking out wins just before you can utilize your quest reward.
Agree. Without healing I it is difficult to win against odd hunters or pirate warriors. You need that extra healing to stay alive until you finish the quest.
85% win rate and the other 15% is mirror. Balanced
Great deck and a lot of fun!
Apart from Crystallizer, what do you tend to mulligan for vs certain classes? Do you tend to keep Backfire and Soularium for card draw? Cheers.
In most games now I try and complete the quest the same turn I can play the minion. Too many people running Dirty Rat to counter quest decks. So to that end Raise Dead is a good card to find and keep since you can play it for free on turn 5 to complete the quest. Other than that if I am playing against another Warlock or a Hunter I just try to complete the quest as fast as possible since those are race matches. Darkglare can help a lot in these matches, especially if you already have 2+ cheap damage cards.
I tend to mulligan away The Soularium and Backfire as I really want 1 drops in the first couple turns. As long as I can get 1-2 played in the early game then completing the quest isn't too difficult. I also try and keep a Spirit Bomb if one is already present because some people are running Nerub'ar Weblord as a way to counter the deck.
Thank you!
Playing it on turn 5 is definitely a good idea against DHs as they'll Glide Tamsin away into your deck as I've found out!
I’m straight up smoking people with this deck!! Great job!!
Damn someone is mad over an online card game. I don’t think playing a broken deck means someone should burn in hell correct me if I’m wrong.
trash, cancer, burn in hell.
Would Darkglare not make this better? Easier to have bigger combos each turn? What do you think?
This was a day one list I was running. I have tweaked quite a few things since this was posted so I have updated the deck to what I am currently running.
Thanks for the reply. Ill try some games with it and let you know how it goes.
7-0 this deck is beyond broken

For real Im 13-0 with it right now, its unbelivable broken.
