Ok guys this my finalised Big Shaman deck which i used to reach legend rank for the past 2 months. Changes from previous versions include Ysera replaced by Lich King for extra taunt vs aggro decks, Ysera is only better vs Big priest whom you have to highroll anyways before they fill their ress pool. Final change is 1 Dunk tank being replaced by Sphere of Sapience for extra consistency and this skyrocketed my win rate, being able to find key cards like Eureka and Ancestors Call or a minion such as Y'sharaj can be game winning.
116 games, 80 wins 36 loses, winrate: 69%
Guide:
1) Raza Priest: Highroll them early on or use Ancestors to take Polkelt or Raza out of their hand, otherwise you lose.
2) Secret Mage: Cant remember the last time i lost vs Secret Mage. Hold on and as soon as you summon any big minion you stop them in their tracks especially followed by a healing rain, easy matchup.
3) Reno Warlock: very hard matchup, early highroll wins against everydeck anyways, if not try to snipe Zephrys, Reno or Tickatus and make sure you devolve their big demons, i would say its a 50-50% matchup.
4) Pain Warlock (Darkglare): All you have to do is hold on and you win, torrent is especially crucial to kill the giants, you can keep hagatha's scheme in this matchup.
5) Big Priest: Always keep devolve, an early Lich King or Y'Sharaj is game winning, always go face and make sure you play around Mass Hysteria and Psychic Scream.
6) Kingsbane Rogue and Odd Warrior: you have to high rolls these decks otherwise you lose, Rogue will kill you and warrior will fatigue you, try to go all in once no more brawls are available, Ancestral Spirit vs warrior is game winning, position against Sylas!
7) Odd Paladin and Hunter: Once again you have to hold on, any huge minion is game winning followed by healing rain.
8) Token druid: Super fast deck, if you can summon a Scrapyard Colossus they concede immediately, if not try to clear until you do, tough matchup.
9) Combo Druid: Our 100% winning matchup, keep Ancestors Call, once they use Juicy Psychmelon play it, you win. Ez.
Been leveling Wild with another Big Shaman deck this month. The two Runaway Blackwings and all the ways to cheat cards out early have made big shaman more competitive than it used to be. I've been 72% winrate over 40 games with it. I run 8 big minions; the 2xRunaway Blackwings, Deathwing, Dragonlord, Deathwing, Ysera, 2xScrapyard Colossus, and Y'Shaarj, Rage Unbound. I use Healing Wave instead of Healing Rain, as it almost always gives 14 health to your hero and time to set up your combos.
sounds very anti-synergetic tho, having more minions means you usually draw them instead of card draw and minion cheat spells, your ysharaj becomes more inconsistent and most of your minions dont have taunt which sucks against kingsbane or secret mage also healing wave maybe you win the joust usually but when you dont it sucks, healing rain is more consistent and getting deathwing dragon lord with enough minions in hand early enough sounds impossible but if you are having success good on you man.
Yeah, I stalled out at Diamond 7 there at the end of the month. My deck was focused more purely on the win strategy. Yours does more fighting to stay alive until the combo materializes. Both have their advantages. The concept seems solid right now, though, if people are interested in trying different card combos to optimize it. I was 51 wins and 31 losses overall on the climb.
This has to be one of the funniest matches of my life. Don't worry, it's short. https://hsreplay.net/replay/JHeefo7T9TmHgCLtTBQj46
Really enjoying the deck.
Edit: I feel like another board clear might be better than dunk tank. Do you prefer it because it can go face?
i have done that a couple times myself :D Glad you are enjoying the deck!
Most lists I see usually run two copies of Walking Fountain, I'm curious about your reasons to cut it.
not needed against aggro you have enough taunt and against more value decks its not that impactful
I cut muckmorpher and both fountains due to running healing waves and blackwings. They are much better and muckmorpher into fountain or even eureka into fountain on emty board is worthless. You would be better off runing 9 mana 9/9 rush guy for pressure (i dont run it, just saying even that tauntless low impact sitting duck is better than fountain) I also do not have serpentshire portal but an extra pair of minions for more steam and an extra windfury. as I love some funny rng I run fist of ra den and no card draw. I have a 65 % winrate after recent changes.
portals can help in the early game when you dont highroll and more minions make the deck less consistent and overall worse in my experience
Im really interested on trying out this deck, but Im missing Colossus of the Moon and that card feels like its just a waste to craft only to use in 1 deck. Is there any other card you would use instead of it, like Ragnaros etc?
ysera, ragnaros, maybe plagued protodrake and big bad archmage but noone are as good as colossus of the moon
The deck requires a little extra luck what with getting the right cards on time and Muckmorpher not throwing a monkeywrench in your straterism.
Lol, as I write this I win a turn 4 victory by getting the old God out early.
Good deck, will attempt legendary with it.
it definitely takes some luck but this is a card game and the reward is worth it! let me know how you did with it!
this deck works well, started in D5 15-6 so far D1, 3 stars, sometimes struggling against secret mages.
i am thinking about muckmorpher and its impact on this deck, also thinking what could it be replaced with, I have not had colossus as well as disenchanted him some time ago but replaced it with ragnaros.
thanks for the feedback bro, i am shocked that you struggled against secret mage since i literally win 95% of the time against them, i have questioned muckmorfer a few times myself but he keeps his place everytime they use loatheb against me and he saves me :D I will assume you dont have colossus of the moon and use rag, not a bad idea but colossus is way harder to remove and is the bane of priest and warlock which are the hardest matchups, i would definitely craft it when possible!
Thanks for reply, I have actually managed to get the legend with this deck. :)
You welcome my friend!
My secret mage matches are not nearly as decisive as yours either. Entirely draw dependent. I have lost quite a few.
if you can get a minion out with a healing rain you should be able to win but sometimes counterspells screw us or they draw the nuts
