Well met!

My name is bos- I'm a casual Hearthstone player who made the switch to wild a few months back. After playing the format - and loving it - I hit wild legend in the June season with this version of Reno LPG Mage. This deck is not only very strong but also super rewarding to play - no two games feel the same!

Strategy Overview

VS Aggro - Your aim is just to survive. Once you stablise and gain some board control,  aggro decks will find it very difficult to kill you. Luna's Pocket Galaxy is usually redundant vs aggro - as your aim is just to survive.

VS Control - Your aim is to out value the opponent. Use cards like Barista Lynchen and Zola the Gorgon to generate as much value as possible. Deal with your opponents threats. Once you activate your Luna's Pocket Galaxy you can go on the aggressive - creating huge boards to out pressure your opponent.

VS Infinite (Jade Druid & Shudderwock Shaman etc.) - I find these matchups the most difficult to play, since you can never win in the long term. In these games you want to active Luna's Pocket Galaxy as soon as possible and play for massive tempo with your 1 cost power spikey cards. Don't worry to tempo a card like Reno Jackson if you need to get board presence.

Mulligan Guide

VS Aggro - Look for your early removal like Volcanic Potion and Flame Ward. Mad Scientist helps contest the board and can also pull a crucial Ice Block or Flame Ward for a potential clear. Zephrys the Great should be kept and used as removal.

VS Control - Finding Luna's Pocket Galaxy is the objective. Keeping Dragoncaster and Escaped Manasaber can be useful to cheat it out a couple of turns earlier. Zephrys the Great should be kept for Wild Growth, if you have late game plays to curve into.

Card Interactions

Stargazer Luna after activating Luna's Pocket Galaxy can be used to fill the board with huge minions and swing the game pretty consistently.

Brann Bronzebeard + Loatheb + Zola the Gorgon or Barista Lynchen can lock spell heavy decks out indefinetly. Assembling this full combo is insta win vs Jade Druid and can stall Mecha'thun decks long enough for you to finish them off.

Substitutions

Astromancer Solarian instead of Starscryer, but I find extra consistency in finding Luna's Pocket Galaxy is better than Solarian Prime.

Skulking Geist for Power of Creation is a necessary substitution if you are facing a lot of Jade Druid.

Dirty Rat for Acidic Swamp Ooze if you face more combo / priest than aggro.
