After trying all versions of this deck I decided I would create the perfect version of it myself.
For those who don't know what Mecha'thun Warlock is about, it's pretty simple, here's the combo:
You play Emperor Thaurissan when you have Bloodbloom + Mecha'thun in your hands.
Once you've played Emperor Thaurissan, the next turn is where you play Mecha'thun first, then you play Bloodbloom and finish with Cataclysm (Make sure your deck is empty!) There you have it, easy win.... well if you can get there....
So that would be the normal version of the deck right?
Here's where things start to get on a whole new level...
In my own version of the deck I made it possible to get the combo without Emperor Thaurissan just in case things don't go that well. How many time have I lost right after playing Emperor Thaurissan without even surviving to the next round where I should've win?!... Yepp, It's pretty risky when you get there, especially since many players know what's about to happen. Regular Mecha'thun Warlock is no secret haha!
That's why I added the quest. Supreme Archaeology
With the quest if you draw only ONE of the 3 combo cards you will be able to achieve the combo without Emperor Thaurissan since one of the cards will cost ZERO mana! This alone already makes the deck more reliable and powerful!
An important thing about this deck is you need to be able to survive. So having less duplicates in the deck makes Zephrys the Great and Reno Jackson easier to play. And YOU WILL need them most of the time!
I also decided to go with only one Plot Twist. The card help so much with your quest Supreme Archaeology! (It also work like some kind of "Brainstorm" from Magic The Gathering) What I mean is you may not have the card you need in your hands to deal with a certain situation so playing Plot Twist could bring you the card you need at that precise moment!
Be careful though!
Don't play The Soularium if you don't have your combo cards in hands! This could cost you a lot! You only play that card to empty your deck faster when needed.
It is actually possible to play The Soularium right before Plot Twist. That will shuffle all the cards back in your deck without sacrifying any!
You want your deck to be empty so you can play your combo and win!
Target Dummy is part of the deck for the synergy you get with Zilliax but it's also a good card to combo with Plague of Flames
Loot Hoarder and Runic Egg are also very good to combo with Plague of Flames !
CARDS YOU WANT IN YOUR STARTING HAND:
Supreme Archaeology (duh) - Kobold Librarian - Runic Egg - Loot Hoarder - Novice Engineer - Questing Explorer - Plague of Flames - Mortal Coil
ONE LAST THING
Be careful, you REALLY don't want to burn the wrong cards! Don't keep your hand too full. Just make sure to always clean the board and keep it clear! Health is very precious but don't be affraid to lose some to draw cards! You want to empty your deck ASAP but you also want to survive until then!
This deck is very strong (and fun) and I hope you guys will appreciate the hard work!
BTW sorry for my english, I speak french!
Enjoy! :)
RIP
Bloodbloom Nerfed to 4 mana cost from 2. This deck was super fun...
Any replacement fo Valdris?
You don't have any problems to play this deck against Mage (for example secret Mage)?
I'm playing a bit different version (I don't have Soularium and Valdris) of this deck, but every time I have trouble against secret mage -,-
Just be careful for the counterspell.
You could maybe try keeping the coin and use it before the combo to break the counterspell?
If you have Soularium in your hands when playing Emperor Thaurissan then it should cost zero so try keeping it to break the counterspell!
I know you dont have that card but its a pretty good card to have for this deck!
Hope that helped! Thanks for your comment :)
OK, thanks a lot :D
I have right now 1600 dust and maybe I'll craft Soularium.
Hey no problem youre welcome :)
Thanks!
Pleasure is mine! :)
Nice
Thank you for uploading a video with this deck brother! :)
Why are you talking like you created this deck?
Quest Mechthun was a thing for a long time now lol.
Im explaining why I made the choice to go with the quest since its way less popular than without. This list is my own though and way easier to play reno and zephrys early when needed! I made this guide to make it easier for the people who wanna try it. This version of the deck is my creation but I made it super clear that Mecha’thun Warlock is not my creation. Im simply explaining why I made some adjustements here and there to make the deck better and I think I created the perfect version of it. Thanks for your comment! :)
Very good guide, thanks for sharing!
The guys at hearthstone-decks have also made an in-depht post talking about the Warlock Meca'thun archetype which is quite insightul if you enjoy playing this deck:
