The odds of that happening are the same as having Innervate-Innervate-Astral Communion, or Mech Warper - Mech Warper - Shredder etc.
I'd not call that "consistent" unless we get some 1 mana drop that can give +1 to Chtun, because that would make it possible to have a 1 /2 (Beckoner) /3 (Twilight Elder) / 4 curve.
Beckoner of Evil is only one of many cards that can buff C'Thun. Aside from the three cards that can interact with C'Thun that has already been revealed, there are still 13 more cards that interact with him. It's not guaranteed you'll get this card in your starting hand judging by your theory. Even if it's just a 4 mana 4/5, it's still a pretty good card, with an additional effect if you fulfill the conditions
I'm so excited for a C'Thun Druid Deck! I think they're the only class that can reliably pull of a brann + c'thun combo with innervates, emperor discount, and maybe aviana??
it looks that way
Eh. Seems just like another 'almost good' card that only actually works and will be played if a C'Thun druid meta arises. It would be nice if it was available in arena...
Alright you may have heard most combos thinking Beckoner of Evil turn 2 and 3 into Klaxxi, but that is weak. What you really want to do is coin turn one into Beckoner of Evil into turn 2 Beckoner of Evil into turn 3 brann bronzbeard into turn 4 Klaxxi.
Just imagine it a turn 4 4/15 better stats then the 4/12 dragons turn 4.
My thought on C'thun Druid (Due to this card)
2 Best case scenario for this minion: If you can curve it out with C'thun buffed on turn 4 (Since you don't have to skip first 2 turn like Twilight Drake, and less vulnerable to silence, without skipping turn a 4/10 is super strong.) , you will get a big tempo swing to win the game with through tempo. If you innervate this out turn 1, like yeti, you win through tempo (Yeti is much stronger to innervate out than Shredder). Very strong and solid card, well distributed stat and powerful tempo swing if necessary.
C'thun Druid with this card and some expected cards-
Estimate deck tier: 1 (Will be changed based on card released or expected cards not released) (Using evaluating based on current deck)
Vs Control Priest/ Control Warrior: If you get everything removed after playing your entire deck vs Priest/Warrior (Unlikely, but possible with deathrattle gone), you drop C'thun and win the game. Vs Fatigue version of control, you should win due to the low amount of threat, even if they remove everything you can seal the game by C'thun. Vs Huge minion version of control, you might lose due to druid's current lack of removal. But we should expect some good removal for Druid as it had been a issue mentioned for a long time and gathered rather much attention . Druid have room for better cards as they are losing Savage Roar Force of Nature combo, so non-mill removal might just complete several slower variation of Druid including C'thun Druid.
Vs Face Shaman/ Face Hunter :Come on, you are druid and you have some of the best anti aggro tools - Swipe, Innervate, Wrath and Druid of the Claw. It possible to equip even more Anti-aggro tool since you have C'thun as your win condition as well.
Vs Midrange Druid: Midrange Druid is losing Big Game Hunter, Losing Dr. Boom, Shade of Naxxramas and other sticky minions. So unless some strong new card pushes this archetype, I doubt it will be a tier 1 deck to be wary of. Even the new card that are strong like Hogger, Doom of Elwyn is more of a defensive card vs Dr. Boom who made it easy to seal game for midrange. Anyway, we can expect much slower game against the new midrange deck, and I think C'thun deck with their curve will do pretty well against them.
Vs Zoolock: They are losing Implosion, so playing mid-sized vanilla minion will be less punishing. Although you might still still get your board overwhelmed, and Druid AOE removal hasn't been that good in current decklist. Although you could possibly fit a Starfall or 2 in along with swipe to improve this matchup. (Maybe some new AOE too ^.^, but unlikely since Druid don't lack AOE in classic/expert set)
Vs Secret Pally: What is secret pally going to do in standard? I might take it back depending on the cards they give Pally though, but they should be very careful with this class. Their early game without changes will get a lot weaker, and losing avenge might be big.
Vs Patron: Probably one of the worst Matchup, since C'thun can just waste all his minion on Patron or give enemy a full board. But Druid has never been too bad against Patron, and if you can innervate your Klaxxi Amber Weaverout turn 1, you might just win.
Vs Freeze Mage: A mediocre matchup. Although Mages no longer have mad scientist, with so much deathrattle gone. They should a much more consistent pool of removal. Although if you can draw a good curve, you might still rush them down. C'thun might also win you the game, but if the match last that long, the mage might just have Ice block and set-up for lethal. So the Tempo/ Face Damage from C'thun won't have as much of an impact. Anyway, probably a heavily luck driven matchup.
Vs Murloc Pally: Worst matchup, Similar deck-type, but their combo will have more impact lategame. They also have a lot more removal and heal.
Chillwind Yeti with the potential to be 4/10 on curve. Not bad.
me encantaria saber como hacer que tu c'thun tenga 10 de ataque antes del turno 4 para jugarlo en curva....
Turn 2 Beckoner of Evil, Turn 3 Beckoner of Evil, Turn 4 Klaxxi guy?
Let me see... 6 + 2... + 2... = 8 + 2... YUP it's 10!
I'd prefer turn 1 coin beckoner, turn 2 beckoner, turn 3 something, turn 4 klaxxi
First Lady Liadrin says something about her hammer burning when she is clearly holding a sword now a Klaxxi that worships the wrong God. Come on blizzard....
um, aviana, bran, innervate, c-thun, death
Does the cthun actually have to be on the field to work?
This is a quote from a Klaxxi named Kil'ruk the Wind-Weaver, after having reached exalted status with the Klaxxi in World of Warcraft.
"Your gods are not our gods, outsider. If the Old Ones ever return, we mantid will once again stand by their side. The wisest among you will do the same."
This indicates that they are loyal to any of the Old Gods, not just Y'Shaarj. The Mantids are also split from the original Aqir, which still gives them a bond to the Qiraji and Ahn'Qiraj. While it definitely would have made more since to have some sort of link to Y'Shaarj, the link to C'Thun can still be justified.
Well researched good sir! I salute you.
Great card, but the hearthstone department has no concept of lore :/. Love the fact mantid are in though, but no Y'shaarj synergy.
should've been some Aqir or silithid that actually serve C'thun instead of a different old god. like this guy
I'm really glad they figured out a way to highlight Reno when he can be activated. I hope they use the same technology to track all synergies between cards on the board, in hand, and in your deck. Imagine if this card DIDN'T glow orange and you had to manually keep track of how much Attack your C'Thun currently had? @_@
