I hate how I never draw him, yet I get Patches in my hand almost every game.
Works great in Quest Hunter. :)
this card... NotLikeThis
who ever said "prince is bad" before and 2-3 weeks after KOTFT, well damn you all. 2 mana is superb tempo. and i disenchanted 2 of this.
Love the Flavor text.
I really love to play it because it feels amazing to play it early on. In handbuff pala the downside is not that bad either since you usually have some smaller or taunt minions to play early on.
I agree that it might have been the most underrated legendary prior release since everyone was talking about how you could not make decks without 2 cost cards (Equality for instance). I like the new approach to incentevice the development of new deck archtypes.
I just crafted this card and the major problem with building a deck around it is the usual one of only having one of these and having to work without it for a substantial number of games.
I've only played 30 games or so with it using Zoo and Rogue but he isn't arriving in time (or at all) in most of these games. When he does he is awesome and I've had opponents quit twice as soon as I play him.
I now try to get him as fast as I can each time by mulligining my whole hand and drawing when I can.
Overall (if you mulligan hard) he should come out by turn two 26.67% of the time if you go first and 33.33% when you go second which seems a bit low. However, I am not even seeing him that much so far. RNJesus at work I suppose and I probably need to play a lot more games for it to even out.
If you draw hard (as a Warlock) you should be able to get him by turn 5 in half the games but this is without playing much else.
Overall fun and powerful when he does come out but not going to dominate ladder in the current meta. Still happy I crafted him though as I already have most other legendaries I want.
So my advise is to craft him if you love Rogue or Zoolock otherwise save the dust for better legendaries if you still have some to craft.
The thing with these keleseth decks is that even without drawing keleseth, they still have a decent winrate.
True. I've played more now and in Zoo it works well without him even if you mulligan hard as there are lots of 1 drops. In the rogue deck I've found that you can't mulligan so hard as you need to keep lower cost minions for tempo. Having a lot of fun with these decks regardless.
This card is further proof that you just can't call some cards good or bad when they are first revealed
I am happy i got this one in a pack and no need to craft it.
Anyone else notice this? There's no image for the 'Keleseth's Blessing'
Yeah I have, but could never make out what it says...
Patch!!! I want my icon... Bring on the downvotes!
I'm pretty sure it says "Minion Ability Art 1" - not sure though
Yeah, that's what it looks like it says. Noticed this the other day too but completely forgot about it.
Indie company?
Honestly, I hate this cards design on a second look now. Comparing this to the Mistcaller, the latter is far more fair. +1/+1 won't make that much of a difference with 7-mana and above minions, but it's still an increase, and if they just increased its statline to 5/5, it would've saw a good amount of play in midrange lists. The entire problem of Keleseth is that it costs 2 mana with it's effect. +1/+1 on 1-3 drops is absurdly strong on turn 2, as at that point in the game, you're essentially playing 2-drops for 1 mana, 3 drops for 2 mana, etc. And in an aggro/tempo based deck, that spirals out of control really quickly. Whenever I see Keleseth played on Turn 2, I just concede instantly, it's just not worth the effort to play.
This card made even a bigger comeback than Finja, the Flying Star.
Currently very overlooked (pales in comparison to the way PK was all but ignored during
the first few weeks post-kotft expansion release.) Keleseth is currently in the running to be
a meta-defining darkhorse from the most resent expansion. Not to mention the potential
PK has due to being a new inclusion. I predict PK will only get better with the future releases.
