That's where the trick comes in. They're adding typings for spells now. Fireball for example is a Fire type, Lightning Storm is a Nature Type. So Bru'kan can only give Spell Damage to Nature spells, and something like Lava Burst I have a feeling is a Fire type spell, not a Nature type, so it won't get the spell damage.
I wonder if Ras Frostwhisper would benefit from this +3 nature spell damage?
I think its bad,
stats are OK but the nature limitation makes this is so situational, maybe can be good in combo burn deck, if we have many nature burn spells.
The fact that +2 SD cards didn't see much play suggests that this is bad (example: Squallhunter dragon and the new dormant phoenix)
Forked Lighting
Shame. Thanks for the heads up!
One of the few cards that doesn't have a stat penalty because of spell damage.
Does it affect healing spells as well? If yes, me likey
Keyword Damage. Its just spell damage + an additional limitation.
Unless its "Lifesteal, Deal Damage" it will not impact healing nature spells
For those of you keeping score at home, this rules out Lightning Bolt as a candidate for the core set.
(Or... not, I guess.)
Im just glad to see some new Troll (race) cards. :D
Probably very strong if they want shamans identity to be spell damage, but god is it a boring legendary.
This will be the hardest pre-release yet since we don't know what core will look like
Name says it all, it is literally broken, will probably get nerfed, we shall see.
