Alright I've seen many a dumbass call this weapon bad for the same reason so lemme just shut down your ridiculous argument right here.
YOU END UP WITH MORE HEALTH IN THE END IF YOU KILL ALL YOUR OPPONENT'S MINIONS FASTER. YOUR REASONING OF TAKING A LOT OF FACE DAMAGE IS FUCKING DUMB WHEN YOU ARE JUST TAKING A BURST OF IT IMMEDIATELY TO TAKE LESS IN THE LONG RUN, YOU FUCKING TROGLODYTE.
This has been a public service announcement, see you all again soon.
Good luck taking 21+ damage attacking into Shaman's OP 4 mana 7/7 on turn 5. Assuming you somehow survived, next turn Shaman double swings his buffed +5 doomhammer at your face and emotes "Well Played."
This looks like a good card, but I don't think it currently fits in warrior very well.
If warrior stays how it is now I do not think it will see play, but not because it isn't a good card.
However, due to warriors flexibility, finding a deck where this works isn't too far fetched.
Violet Illusionist
This weapon is amazing with heroic strike! You can easily clear their board of big minions with that combo.
I love it when new cards make old cards viable.
I fail to see how this card can be utilised efficiently as a board clear. It costs 5 mana which is a lot and does 3 damage x 4. So in its MAXIMUM capacity you kill 4 minions and take ~11 damage while paying 5 mana. This seems garbage to me, im quite shocked some people like it.
There are a lot of cards that synergy with this. You can play Violet Illusionist that makes you immune so you take no damage. Add maybe Heroic Strike taking the damage up to 7 you can deal 28 damage to enemy minions in one turn, upgrade sends that even higher etc. Also you can use cards like Execute, Smash, and Bash while using Fool's Bane to take down the damaged minion. Plus you can have a lot of armour as a warrior Ancient Shieldbearer can give you 10 armour, Shield Block 5 armour, and Justicar Trueheart for 4 armour per turn 11 damage is nothing for a board clear.
Grim Patron's Bane
i LIKE. Basically fits warrior well and gives YOU essential board clear for small things.

Well, i did all of the class cards. Nuetral cards would take forever but im sure there are plenty of them that see play. After making this list i concluded that this weapon is worst against paladins and rogues which are 2 classes we rarely see in the meta currently. Also after making this list there are so man targets you can hit and you dont have to hit them all at once either. It cant hit face but did control warriors hit face with their weapons very often? No. If you don't see much weapon removal and control decks this card should be pretty good.
In a vacuum grey skinned gargoyle is a good card. Is this card complete garbage no, but it's right now super overrated. If you have been taking a beating prior to turn 5 It doesn't really help because you will take probably around 12 damage getting rid of those minions and might not get rid of all of them. Against decks playing larger minions you take 4+ damage multiple times to get rid of one minion. Warriors already have ways to get rid of low cost minions without taking 12 damage and have far better ways to get rid of high cost minions.
Basically if this card read 5 mana "Chose one Deal 3 damage to 4 enemy minions lose 12 life or Deal 6 damage to 2 enemy minions lose 16 life" would anyone consider this?
no non-zoo deck would have 4 minions on board against a warrior on turn 5, meaning you won't be taking 12 damage to remove 4. The same is true for the other, who the fuck has 2 8/3's on board by turn 5? You are just fabricating excuses to call a card bad. Also, STONE skin gargoyle IS bad in a vaccuum, that card has terrible stats for the cost and nothing could ever save it from that. What this card does is let you trade health to get rid of enemy threats NOW, not 3 turns from now when they will have done drastically more damage, RIGHT NOW. I would gladly trade away 10 health killing off my opponent's entire board than get rid of it slower and end up taking 17 damage instead. The only real problem with this card is that it's worse than Brawl in almost any situation possible.
Is it bad? No. Is it good? It's alright. Will it see play? No, because Brawl usually does the job better.
I said it wasn't garbage and that it's overated. I also said warrior has better ways to get rid of low cost minions brawl would be one of those ways. I never mentiond having 2 8/3's on turn 5 but having 2 4/5's on turn 5 isn't unheard of in which case you if you remove both of those minions with this card you will take 16 damage and that's on the low end. I wouldn't even consider taking out 2 5 /5 minions with this card because you will betaking 20 + damage. So at the end of the day their are better ways to get rid of a swarm of low cost minions and you take way too much damage if you have to hit high attack minions multiple times to kill them. So what I precieve here is at best a AOE card that can roll over to the next turn with a pretty high cost to your hp. Maybe that's good enough but I think it's average at best.
Warrior right now has one good aoe effect to stop zoo. Brawl. Which iis the main reason it has started to run 2 of them lately. If i could run 4 brawls in a met full of zoo I would. Fools bane is arguably the same power level because you don't have to spend all of it on 3 minions like you would with brawl, You don't clear your own minions, and you control the outcome. Although brawl can clear more than 4 minions, and you are not sacraficing any health to clear the board. Also, if you take 15 to clear the board by hitting 4 minions once, thats 15 less damage you are taking next turn if you did not have an answer otherwise.
This card is fantastic for board control, but there's the obvious drawback of potentially taking massive face damage. I can see this being run as a 1-of in Control decks which run enough armor gain to make the face damage irrelevant.
Others have mentioned this card competing with Brawl, but I personally don't see why Control decks shouldn't run some combination of both cards. Fool's Bane is much less situational and more consistent in certain matchups, especially when dealing with smaller boards.
As a side note: I really like that this weapon is a mace instead of an axe. I prefer to play Magni over Garrosh, and because dwarfs usually use maces or hammers as their weapon of choice, this fit better for Magni.
I welcome this new addition for Magni's armory. Let's hope this card finds a place in a competitive deck.
For Khaz Modan!
5 mana for a weapon that does multiples of 3 dmg to minions, not sure whats the point.. for 5 mana brawl is much better for board clear.
Too much dmg taken if used 2x against 4/5/6 hp minions.
Warrior needs more armor spells/minions for survival, not crap weapons like this.
