Not all cards have to be top tier, some can just be fun. This is just dumb fun. At some point I'll pick this over worse choices in arena, and I bet it'll be a great laugh!
You can't get Raven Idol from Conjurer unless you're druid D:
imagine the epicness during the "too many portals" tavern brawl, espacially with Brann Bronzebeard on the board
When you tought that creativity team was dead.... you were right!
yeah because ramdom effect are rare, like card draw, discoveries, discard from hand, juggler, flamewalker, Sylvanas, etc? yeah this card crossed the line :P
All the effects you listed (other than card draw) can be manipulated by the player, but there is no way to control what spell is cast by this card.
But there ARE ways to affect the odds in your favour, the spells it casts follow stricts rules, so things like timing with a certain board situation just not as reliable as it's very broad potential. Watch Trump (or his review of Servant of Yogg-Saron for the same logic) to understand how in details. That being said, yes it's still probably more of a fun but not very competitive card because the effect is more random than the others by a large margin.
But I Fireball my own Sylvanis a mage version of Mind Control.
The best thing with card games is the creative part, to be both serious and just casual. This card just goes to the "Fun" part of the game, it has potential; Holy Nova,Flame Lance,Nourish. And some bad; Give an enemy Velen's Chosen,Soulfire your face,Power Overwhelming.
We've seen many competitive cards too so don't be too sad, fun exists too you know.
You must've been blinded by all the salt.
Do you NOT consider the following cards to be competitive? N'Zoth the Corruptor,Call of the Wild, Ragnaros, Lightlord, Cho'gall, Hammer of Twilight, Corrupted Healbot, Hallazeal the Ascended, Mire Keeper, Xaril, Poisoned Mind, Twilight Summoner, Blood Warriors. And probably ALL the C'Thun related cards.
I can keep going and you tell me this isn't enough. Jeez.
I wish Blizzard just made it cast random Mage spells instead. This is way too RNG.
This card could win or lose you the game based on the spell it casts which I think is poor design imo.
Play this on turn 10 with 7 cards in hand
Astral Communion
FFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUU....
Seems like a lot of people is getting triggered by this card. Am I the only one here that likes RNG cards?
I don't understand why they are making so many rng cards, don't they want this game to be eSport?!?! What a lack of imagination !
This card is fine, it's not an auto-include like Faceless Summoner. It will actually be a fun card and not played in net decks because it's underpriced and you have to get pretty lucky for this to be better than a 5 6 or like a Sludge Belcher. This is a well designed RNG card unlike the former because it's not a win more type of RNG, you have just as much of a chance of getting screwed as you are getting rewarded, and you get a below average body for the cost.
Free Consecration PogChamp
or free Fireball to yourself FeelsBadMan
But yea, most of the times this card should be in your favour.
1. Put it into Yogg-Saron, Hope's End deck.
2. Play it.
3. See Tracking or Soulfire depends on where Yogg-Saron is.
4. Realise, that you've lost Yogg-Saron.
In that case, he helped you out, because now you won't screw yourself over by playing Yogg-Saron
the only thing this card does is making Yogg-Saron even more unappealing.
Trolden bait level: OVER 9000!!!!!!
