some druid decks have an extra slot at the four, I've been running a senjin at rank 2 and it works fine so if inspire actually catches on this card could be insane to play on turn 1 or 2 as it can avoid alot of the removal and helps you keep the board with your hero power alone.
I don't know, I think we may see a new combo druid revolve around using this and the druid spells to gain a large amount of damage and go face, while still running good old combo druid. Problem is 30 deck spots don't leave much room for double combos.
I'm gonna destroy you with my hero power face damage!!
Amazing card. I have a feeling Beast Druid might become a thing and it will have the bite/claw/savagery combo mixed in. Turn 2 Haunted Creeper, Turn 3 Druid of the Flame, 4 this card, 5 Druid of the Fang... I think you're golden. And if this card and the Fang are out you know the Fang is going first, so turn 6 you can hero power with one of the combo pieces and completely control the board.
It is nearly a strictly better version of Lost Tallstrider. The only perk that bird has over Combatant here is that its a neutral card when regarding Beast Hunters. However if a Hunter gets a Savage Combatant off a Webspinner then the Lost Tallstrider is completely out classed. I am not saying this is a bad thing. A rare should have better value than a common.
True. Sometimes there are strong commons and rares. I agree that epics are a bit more niche.
An example of this is Silverback Patriarch and Gnomeregan Infantry. The only perk the Patriarch has is its a beast, otherwise the Infantry is strictly better most of the time.
Another good example of War Golem and Dr. Boom as an example. A 7/7 for 7 being outclassed by another 7/7 for 7 with a strong battlecry.
A bad example of this is Hogger and Silver Hand Knight as somehow a common that provides the same amount of stats (6/6) in a single turn is superior via mana cost when compared to a legendary whose only niche benefit is that the 2/2s it spawns have taunt.
Or recently with Fjola Lightbane and Spider Tank. The only perk the tank has over the val'kyr is that its a mech.
Classes have often gotten strictly better versions of neutral cards, and on top of that lost tallstrider is a bad card and was added to the game as such. This is meant to be usable.
Why yes. I wasn't defending the Lost Tallstrider, I was showing how the Savage Combatant is strictly better in almost every way and that is a good thing.
This might be the first card revealed so far that I think definitely has a place in constructed. Played on t2 off an Innervate or on T3 off a Wild Growth, this could dominate the early game helping to stave off early aggro or smash down early defence.
Errr what are the chances early agro wont remove it though? They played a Leper Gnome on turn 1 and Knife Juggler on turn 2, now on turn 3 they have to kill 4 health creature if You had a Wild Growth start.
Also seeing this pop out of a Piloted Sky Golem would be sweet regardless of what class you are
Really like this card. Sure the 4 health sucks but its still a good card. Want to see golden animation
I think anything higher than 4 health without further changing this card would be pretty OP though.
Almost too good I think.
Seems fairly cool actually. Gives Druid the damage half of Claw on a reusable Inspire trigger.
A unintentional midrange hunter buff with spinner? Maybe?
Loving this card, especially the artwork. Would love to see Savagery be played again with this.
wow, didn't even think about that! great idea!
One more indirect buff to Piloted Shredder. Trades with this one so well.
if this comes out first you can hero power the shredder.
