Not really BS at all - he means it reached 3072 damage as it died (double 1536). He didn't actually specify that it survived the attack.
The double attack effect triggers before the minion dies. So it becomes a 3072/0, then dies.
I wonder how many people are going to keep replying to this with retorts without reading previous comments. 1 guy commented and I already said that it was a fair point, essentially admitting that my knee-jerk reaction wasn't fair. That and the fact that the replies keep duplicating what someone else just said. So, keep replying with stuff that's already been covered I guess.
.... summoned by pally adds stats...
mwhahahaha.
I got this a couple of days ago, but am having a hard time justifying keeping it. I already have Dr. Boom, and that is my prefered 7 drop.
I played around with a hunter OTK deck, but needed so many cards. Tundra Rhino - Emperor Thaurissan - Gahz'rilla - combo is just too hard, too elaborate to pull off. It's like Oceans 11 plot, trying to get the perfect storm of cards. Good luck keeping board control or health against a face deck while I am holding my 5 cards I need to pull it off.
I tried a beast deck, but there are just so many mandatory Hunter cards, it's just so weak & WAY behind a mech deck. There are so many essential hunter cards like Knife Juggler, Mad Scientist that I miss out on so much more than I gain with the 4 or 5 cards that give beast synergy.
I believe this card has a lot of potential for future expansions if Blizzard decides to push for a slower meta and Control Hunter. The card itself is extremely powerful, but it is just so slow that it is never played. Also, it has no effect outside of stats.
for some reason everyone says a cards is slow...wtf does that even mean
It means that the card takes a lot to play and typically means that it will be in some way destroyed before it is usable.
how would it be destroyed before it is usable? can u give me some examples
Shadow Word: Death, hit it, then Big Game Hunter, Various spells, and plenty of other types of plays.
doesn't that apply to most cards...over 5 attack or 7
so basically, we shouldn't play cards that have to high of an attack? how about ragnaros then
That's not what I mean. Rag is different because it essentially has charge with hitting a random minion at the end of turn. Gahz'rilla essentially takes 3 turns to become really good. One turn to play, one turn to buff attack, and one turn to attack face. While some classes like warrior can do it effectively, in most cases other combos exist for classes that are better, like force of nature + savage roar.
You shouldn't play any card over 7 attack that does not have any effect on your turn/end of your turn. If it needs even 1 turn to be useful, it is not good enough to handle most decks in the current meta.
This is what I like to refer to as a "noob trap." A card that new or inexperienced players think is unbelievably broken
This guy gave me a Turn 2 win in the hunter class challenge in BRM.
Direwbrew pulled him out for me on Turn 1. On turn 2 he pulls Baron Geddon for himself. So turn 1 6 damage and turn two 24 to the face.
dreadscale + this has been loads of fun!
this tavern brawl was broken
packed him golden in the first few free packs blizzard gave everyone....Swiftly Disenchanted his ass for our lord and savior Dr.Boom
It doubles the 2 as well!
Double the +2 attack, then lose 2 attack.
