Oh look, they printed another small mage spell with synergy (magic trick).
Over/under on how many spells this 2 mana 2/2 generates in an average ladder game?
I'd set the line at 2.75
My respect to Toast for finding the wisest way to open the box. He nailed it like no other ever could.
Many people have already corrected your previous rant in this SAME FORUM on how you mis understood the card text Mr ‘Arena Master’.
For the last time, it’s spells cast T H I S T U R N. How many times does an average mage deck cast 5 spells in a turn? Maybe once a year? Mage spells are normally expensive, the cheap ones are not really run in anything except quest mage which will probably make some serious value with this card.
Am I the only one who wants to play with this and Yogg?
Wow - this can be a budget version of Lyra the Sunshard for mage. Love to see this with Sorcerer's Apprentice and Molten Reflection.
toast be like:"ME NO SOLVE PUZZLE ME SMASH!"
Technically... he opened the box the fastest so far.
Now, that's exciting!
A possible turn 1 play in Magical Christmas Land: Coin, Elemental Evocation, Mana Cyclone, Mana Cyclone. Never mind the quality of the four spells you get; you just got a pair of 2/2s and still have six cards in hand on turn 1!
Dude you got me legit hyped
In a way, Mana Cyclone is pretty similar to Arcane Artificer in how it is played.
It's not meant to contend for the board early game, it's cheap so you can combo it with spells easily.
Maybe you can make it work with Banana Buffoon? Kibler has been running a "Minion Mage" kind of deck. You could use them to give the deck spells, since you could ideally cast 4 Bananas and 2 Mana Cyclone to get 8 random spells in 1 turn - it will probably get you 2 spells on average though.
A 2 Mana 2/2 that has a conditional value generation seems pretty strong. We just need to find a deck where this fits into.
What do you mean "by turn 12"? This card only generates spells for spells that are played in the same turn. Spells cast in the earlier turns do nothing.
Funny how he props himself up as some arena master not realizing his argument is completely invalid. Read the card first bro!
I have over 16,000 Arena wins am one of the top North America players that has made the top 50 several times am pretty sure i know what am talking about. When ADWACTA and Merps do there full card review i can promise you this one will be at the top. You act like casting 2 spells with a Mage is more rare than spotting a Sasquatch, it's not that hard to accomplish and you also don't have to dump spells just to get value. Most of the time by turn 12 a Mage has already cast a Frostbolt and at least one other. Generating at least 2 spells will be a relatively normal occurrence.
no more RNG cards please
I hate mage cards like this so much, more random spell generation for Mage. I wonder why they keep printing mage cards that do that.
I don’t think this will see any play for awhile. Unless they add more good, cheap spells for Mage, its a vanilla 2/2 card most of the time.
Doesn’t seem particularly good in arena either. Shimmering Tempest was good because it guaranteed the random spell 99/100 times plus a reasonable body for the cost. The extra 1 health is irrelevant, as you need to combine it WITH a spell for value. (You usually play this with a spell at maybe turns 5-7+ where a 2/2 isn’t really the most threatening thing and a random spell isn’t really that good most of the time.)
Like he JUST said, most Arena decks aren't filled with spells. From my own experience, they often end up with five spells or less. How hard is it "just straight up" use 2 spells? Pretty darn hard as it turns out. After you've generated spells from Blast Wave, then this becomes usable, but certainly not in the early or mid-game.
This is ok. Its totally predictable i like this card
So Toast posted the reveal on his channel and let me just say: I feel super bad for the guy who designed the puzzle box.
I think you are over rating the arena strength. Mage decks in arena are not exactly full of spells. You will have to dump spells at potentially awkward times to then spend an extra 2 mana to get random spells. It’s good but not broken.
