Brian Kibler was an absolutely terrible choice for this - and is for pretty much any showcase where you want people to stay with the mouse over one card at a time so you can learn more about it. He just kept rolling over everything for 1/5th of a second over and over and acted like it's a real game instead of a showcase game. He made it very difficult to watch.
His commentary was beneficial and he even went out of his way to highlight previously revealed cards for those who either missed them or were holding out until he reveal. I think you miss the point of having someone like Kibler on the stream- he is in the MTG HoF, has worked and consulted for multiple game companies (including the WoW TCG), and always brings an optimistic/positive attitude to any event like this. Also, the fact that you are posting on HearthPwn makes me suspect that you could have easily looked at a still on the site
I hate him because his commentaries add nothing to the game. He is a grown manchild playing a children's card game.
Just a few observations:
1. "His commentaries add nothing to the game"? I watch him especially because he explains all of his moves and decisions and watching his stream is very helpful for someone trying to get better at the game. Not to mention his streams are interesting and entertaining seeing that he plays mostly quirky decks.... which leads me to my second point
2. Why exactly are you wasting this much interest and time on "children's card game"? I mean, if you think it's for children, you are either thirteen and this game is suitable for you, but your opinion about almost 40yo man is completely irrelevant OR you are an adult playing "children's game" for no reason whatsoever. I mean Kibler, who is a "grown manchild" according to you, is making A LOT of money playing HS, what's your reason to play?
Looking at the comments, so much hyperbole comments. "Urgh! Another disappointing expansion!" "Decent expansion." "Excited for the expansion! OMG!!"
This shows that the community is terrible at making an analysis of the set. A lot of emotional outbursts and exaggerated claims. Super fucking annoying.
Who makes these hyperbole comments anyways? 12 year olds or something? It's hard to have a proper discussion if folks are just gonna be prideful idiots most of the time.
I know right? It's almost like everyone has their opinion? Those people need to shut up and agree with my opinion or i'm gonna call them 12 year olds!!!
you sound like a fun person to hang out with
I don't think you know what hyperbole is if you think "decent expansion" is hyperbole.
So that you do know, hyperbole is when you exaggerate something. For example, if I said you were as dumb as a rock, that would be hyperbole; while you aren't very smart, of course no human is actually as dumb as an inanimate object.
Ya know dude, I had a quick look through the last six pages of comments and the only other message youve sent was bagging someone for being hyperbolic. How about, instead of being hyperbolic about how people are acting, you act how you want other people to act, and actually provide constructive discussion rather than being a douche?
Baby learn a new word? It's hard to imagine in what context 'decent' could be classified as hyperbole.
Blizzard is pushing some older, fledgling archetypes that didn't work so well before, they are providing the foundations for the some new archetypes, they are bringing some decks into mainstream that people want (like discard Warlock, Dragon Warrior, Heal Pally, and lots of options for Hunter to name a few) and they didn't give Druid a lot of OP cards.
People have been hating on this set, but you know what? I actually quite like it! Love the flavor as well! There are some dud cards to be sure, but I think they actually listened to what people wanted and tried to accommodate.
Nice job, Blizz. Looking forward to playing the expansion!
Actually each expansion Blizzard is getting better and better in designing cards.
It's almost like they're a game company that has been developing a game for 4 years and actually know what they're doing.
Agreed!
Almost :P
I imagine they realized the best business plan would be to release the most obvious and base mechanics first, so they are guaranteed to deliver more interesting stuff each expansion over time. I’m looking forward to the wealth of possibilities we have to explore this expansion as well as future expansions!
