It should be about playing secrets and the reward should play random mage (or any class) secrets at the end of your until you have 5 (or maybe less) secrets on board for the rest of the game. This could improve this forced secret mage playstyle.
Its not as good in wild as most people think. Sure it might find a spot in reno mage, which is already getting a lot of tools. But theres even more bad secrets in wild. And getting more iceblocks isnt even that good in wild. Most decks rely on cycling your deck and killing your opponent with a combo. Burn mage runs aluneth, where even 2 iceblocks are questionable; and all other exodia otk mages have pretty tight deckslists and usually go near fatigue to do the combo. Im not saying this card wont be put into these wild decks, but it wont be the insane 10 iceblock per game card. (also secret mage doesnt even run firelands portal because the decklist is soooo tight)
If I am Renounce Darkness warlock Do I get any secrets to discover?
Just four? Primordial Glyph
what if rogue ccard steal this keysmith . im guessing its only rogue? or mage ?
Nope, works like Hydrologist; you get Mage secrets.
It it works like hydrologist, and it does, you get rogue secrets. You get secrets of your class, if your class doesn't have any, you get mage secrets.
Perfect for Reno Mage. Besides the obvious Ice Block into Reno Jackson, this card encourages a taunt heavy build, because of Duplicate and Effigy. Also fits well in the curve and the synergy with Brann Bronzebeard.
"Not random secrets!"

a fair enough card on its own, but may see play in the minion mage deck since it casts a spell for you. similar to how spiteful priest has duskbreakers to do their aoe for them so they don't have to run aoe.
Hmmm. Not sure 🤔. I feel it is a so-so card. Read many reasons, especially from the Encyclopedia that was written in previous comments. 😳 However, have to wait & see all cards. 😶PEACE
Your extreme overuse of emojis (not good usage either, might I add) and lack of contribution to the discussion is highly unappreciated. :thonkering:
I speaketh the truth.
Arcane Keysmith will fit nicely into this "minion mage" archetype if it takes off - it's a 3 mana secret + a decent 1 mana minion's body for 4 mana. Very fair body for the effect, and it lets you run fewer spells. If "Minion Mage" is a thing, this will have a home.
very good there will probably be a new mage secret, you might think that it's a bad card because a lot of secrets are not being played but almost all secrets are viable when it comes from this coming with a 2/2 body as will as the fact that you get to pick so if that secret is bad in the match up you just pick something else might see play in all mage decks
Why cast spells!!?
When your minions will cast them for you.
idk man.. i might even play pandas to flip this baby lol. this is how good it is.
If this card is anything short of meta defining I'll be shocked. Honestly it might be the one last thing mage needed for Minion mage to be viable but we shall see.
I like this card mostly because it makes secrets, that much more secret.
Great card, but I believe most people are overrating it. Don't get me wrong, this will see lots of play and will probably work in many cases because it is such an obvious support for no-spell mage, but let's look at which secrets we will actually be choosing between. The pool will be 8 secrets once Ice Block and Potion of Polymorph rotate out. I've made a personal rating on each as to whether I think each secret would generally be a good or subpar outcome:
There you have it:
It's important to note a couple of things. First: you discover a secret, which means
you have a 75% chance of being offered at least one of my good outcomes.Edit:
Thank you SDhn2a for correcting my statistics. You have a 64.29% chance of being offered a 'good' outcome.
This statistic alone may make Arcane Keysmith seem playable. Second: the above ratings obviously cannot account for specific matchups and specific situations during any one game, and so a 'subpar' secret may occasionally be game-winning in certain situations. It seems that the recurrent question which you need to ask of Keysmith is this: if you are running this in a minion-based tempo deck, is it worth the tempo loss of paying 4 mana for a 2/2 given the probabilities of getting a worthwhile outcome?
