Rush is a new mecanic in the game and this card interacts with Rush indirectly so that makes it harder to tell than some other cards. Despite, we've seen cards called op, but later seen as trash (looking at you The Mistcaller) and vice versa (unnerfed Corridor Creeper). I'll add to that that I think you shouldn't expect to find the answer wether a card is strong or not (if that's what you did expect) in the comment section of a website where pretty much anyone can give its opinion, and rather make your own when the extension is released :)
It's one of those cards where no one is quite sure about it and everyone, especially the community collectively, is confused, but everyone is sure it's neither terrible nor outstanding. I saw the same happening with Emeriss.
I'll help clear this up for you: it's bad. So is Emeriss.
But that's not the point, only the collective opinion of the community is, which disagrees with both that they are good and bad. You're looking at the subject from the viewpoint of objectivism but the objective fact is that it's the relativist view and the subjective opinions that matter objectively, not the objective facts about those beliefs.
The first time I got legend years ago, it was with Tempo Warrior. I'm so glad the archetype is getting some love and look forward to be able to play this deck again ! :D
I just hope that if warrior start playing it will be either mid-range or control. I hope that this disgusting agro warrior will not appear again.
Well, its similar to Powermace and that wasn't a good card at all...
Jade Claws saw play despite the overload as an exceptional board control tool. Yes the Jade Golem was generally better than this card's deathrattle, but not by a whole lot in Shaman.
The major difference though is you can get it down to 1 durability, play your rush minion, pop it, and then you get to use the buff immediately on the board to clear something. Darius Crowley could benefit a lot from this. If there is a 5 or 6 health minion on the other side of the board the axe buff allows him to clear and start his growth especially if their attack is low. Also since it's a weapon that costs only 2 mana you can easily have it ready by turn 5.
Powermace is also 3 mana over 2, which is a big deal for tempo.
You're actually right, it saw a little play with Whirling Zap-o-matic. And i like the desing of this card for arena, cuz it needs synergies to be strong...
What the..HELLLLLLOOO!!!
YOU CAN DOWNVOTE ME,BUT YOU CAN'T STOP MY POWER IN WILD! HAHA!
HELLLLLLLOOOOOOOO
If you expecting a nerfed and quite objectively over powered card to be replace you are going to be disappointed a whole lot.
Oggo, if you're going to say this card sucks specifically because of one deck, you're usually going to be wrong. However, with your specific example of Secret Mage making this card a joke, you'd be super wrong. Secret Mage is losing Medivh's Valet, Kabal Lackey, Kabal Crystal Runner, Firelands Portal, and ye ol Ice Block. The deck just isn't going to be around, despite still having Explosive Runes and Mana Wyrm and Kirin Tor Mage. This card is super good because it does the same job as Fiery War Axe--yes, with less flexibility, but it gives buffs to Militia Commander and Darius Crowley which are REALLY good cards and how Warrior is going to get on the map in a game and stay there.
I bet I'm the only guy who looks at the comments right now and only hearing, "HELLO, HELLO, HELLO"
