Ok, so dragon priest just got his own Aldor Peacekeeper... well, like, really blizz?:D
even in arena this card is decent pick with this stat.
happily that card makes no sense against my To My Side! hunter deck since it can only swap stats with both of my leokks summoned
this wont affect my leokks stats so weGucci i guess
Let me start by saying that Priest is my favorite class. Has been since beta, still is today. So, I'm actually pretty excited that Priests are getting as much love as they are. I mean, aside from the legendary cards, everything we've seen out of priest has been pretty damn amazing.
That being said, I really hope it's not too much. I love priests, but as a priest player, even I get irritated when over 60% of my matchups are against other priests. Nobody wants 8 out of 10 games to be against one class. But, the simple truth is that a majority of the players will flock to the best decks in the current meta and it's looking like that several of those best decks are going to end up being priest.
All that aside though, I'm really excited for priest in K&C. I'm just hoping to see the other classes out there too!
Dont worry I will be dumping my hunter and flock to the druid.. I will tech everything to eliminate machine gun priests
I agree with you in almost everything you said. As a priest player as well since 2015, it was my first golden class and i have over 2000 games with it (over 1300 wins with the class) and i loooved dragon priest for like, ever. That being said, since the release of standard, dragon priest was forced on a downhill facing almost every oppresive aggro deck in te early stages of standard (mainly dragon warrior, aggro shaman, then midrange shaman, aggro druid, etc) which they were it’s main weakness. The deck got a big boost in MSG with Drakonid Operative, Potion of Madness, Dragonfire Potion, etc. But that boost lasted for 3 months and then it went away with the first rotation sending almost every good dragon and dragon synergy card away, and we haven’t since this archetype since then.
What I’m trying to say is, it is really nice that they want to make some archetypes resurface (specially my favorite archetype) with Twilight Acolyte and Duskbreaker, and yes, this cards came in a moment where priest is pretty dominant in ladder after almost 2 entire years of seeing barely any play or representation. And remember that blizzard already has the next expansion already planned (like when they printed Purify in Karazhan and then in Un’Goro they released the 4/8 can’t attack flower that made silence priest shine for a while and it was two expansions after the release of purify).
So, all those priest haters, stop complaining because this class which was considered almost the worst class for 2 years gets some real love from the designer’s team. And yes, you will have to play against quite a lot of priests for 4 more months, because we have endured almost 2 years of having our best decks being tier 3 and worse.
I wonder If this card can find room in wild dragon Priest? It's a really good card but it just feels awkward.
In wild it'll be even better. you've got all the blackwing lair early game dragon synergy
Twilight Acolyte their Ysera. Cabal Shadow Priest her. Inner Fire her to 12/12. Get a Dream Card. Opponent never plays control again.
I'm very happy to see more Dragon cards, but...can somebody else get some too? :/
Noteworthy synergy cards with Twilight Acolyte:
- Potion of Madness
- Shadow Madness
- Shadow Word: Pain
- Shadow Word: Horror
- Cabal Shadow Priest
- Stampeding Kodo
- Book Wyrm
I'm really in shock that they decided to buff dragon Priests this much in this expansion. It just makes no sense.
Dragon Priest wasnt good last expansion, it is good in Wild though
now maybe people will play Dragon priest next to big priest and Razakus priest
It's probably because priest didn't have any top tier decks...
:\
This would work with some Temporus shenanigans where you play Temporus, hopefully survive 2 turns. Then bonemare up a big minion or play something big. Attack with it and then swap with Twilight Acolyte and use Inner Fire on the original minion.
I think Temporus is a timely legendary for Priest as its an ultimate "win most" card. In two turns you can use [card] Twilight Acolyte[/card] to swing a huge board your opponent might have laid, buff the minion back up with Inner Fire, and get to attack with it AND lay down damage from hand on top of it. With so many good cards I think Priest will be doing a lot of winning anyhow so as I said, timely.
all these priest fanboys defending this. stop. yes other classes got good cards as well. but priest is the highest win rate overall currently and almost every priest card from this expansion makes the current meta priests even more insane. its nothing cool and new or innovative. its power creep on 1 class when the rest are getting shafted or side grades to other archetypes
This is a good card. However, I think it should have 3 attack to prevent the combo with Cabal Shadow Priest. If you are playing a Dragon Priest deck, it's will be like 9 mana mind control with 2 body extra and on top of that, it works through Liquid Membrance (cannot be targeted by spell or HP). I like this card design but I don't think people really like being mind controlled like that
