This is insane! It makes an already great card, Potion of Madness, even better.
Somewhere at Blizzard:
Hey guys, I just came up with a thing that priests cannot steal yet. Lets make a card that let them steal enemy minions' Attack!
the card reminds me of Vol'jin. Although this looks better imo.
Back in those days Vol'jin wasn't that strong since priests didn't have much tools to finish off a 2 hp minion. Nowadays though, I believe Vol'jin would be pretty good in the highlander DK priest.
Can anyone tell me why it's a 3-mana 2/4? That's almost vanilla stats on card that gets a buff playing. But hey, it's good that they finally stop pretending that they try to achieve class balance.
Do not forget that this card swap it's attack with target minion. So more counter to 4 atk minion i guess.
And you can even use it in value trade too.
3/4 is the basic statline for 3 mana neutral cards. See Spider Tank. Class cards are allowed to be slightly more powerful. See 3 mana 3/4s with effects, eg: Cloaked Huntress, or 2 mana 3/2s with effects, eg: Sorcerer's Apprentice. The fact that this card loses any stats for an ability that already has a condition is reassurance that Blizzard acknowledges how powerful this effect is. It is a courtesy they did not show us for Drakonid Operative, for example.
I believe the 2/4 statline fits perfectly on this.
Having less attack would just make the card better, most of the cases. It would be a broken Aldor Peacekeeper then (well, it sort of is already).
Having 2 or less health would make Twitlight Acolyte way worse since the target of its effect would just trade with it (and probably survive the trade).
Maybe it could still work well as a 2/3, but as Inconspicuosaurus said above, it's already bellow average 3-drop stats, specially for class cards.
This card would be worse as a 3/4. It's kind of obvious when looking at the effect. The fact it is a 2/4 makes it completely broken because of all the steal options that only trigger against minions with 2 attack or below. In that case, Blizzard understating the minion isn't them "acknoledging how powerful it is", it is Blizzard making it more powerful than it should be. Making it 3/4 would be a nerf to it, a well-needed one at that.
Just make it 3/4 and you've got a completely fair card (I wasn't just referring to your examples of vanilla card by naming 3/4). It's a card you would play it either to combo with shadow madness, which is good but not stellar at all, or simply make trading with your other minions much more efficient, and get away with potentially a 8/4 for 3 mana. Do it on a ragnaros, your other minions only have to deal with a 3/8. It wouldn't be backbreaking to play against it, and still would allow for interesting plays. ^^
With a 2/4, you can steal absolutely everything, from deathrattle huge minions (sneed in wild, let's say) with potion of madness to gargantuan creatures like Ysera or Chrommagus (where the attack isn't super relevant) with the cabal priestess. Nothing is safe anymore. Dragon Priest didn't need something like this, to my mind. The GvG combo with shrinkmeister was elegant, because only 4 attack or less minions could be targeted. Here, like I said, nothing at all is safe, and it's ridiculous.
Well, as long it doesn’t strenghten big priest I’m happy
Alright alright alright Blizzard ..... i will play Dragon Priest
Mr. Steal yo turn 2 Edwinnn
Rogue: Backstab and trade with Edwin
Good against big druid
Priest is my favourite class but this is insane lol. Every card that he got in this expansion is really powerful.

Still weak to aggro
