I am not sure if Quest Mage will cut it against the relatively new hybrid archetype Dragon-based Tempo Razakus Priest ...
not bad)
Obviously this is a powerful card - combo with Shadow Word: Pain on anything with 4 attack or more and you get a high value 3 mana minion and a major tempo swing. Combo this with Cabal Shadow Priest and you get a 9 mana Mind Control* with a major tempo swing. There's also Potion of Madness, but that feels like the kind of thing you'll get less average value out of.
While Twilight Acolyte will almost certainly see play, I think the frequency of getting these little combos doesn't totally sell me on it. I don't think you want to wait until turn 9 for a big mind control style play, and in lots of matches you'll want the pseudo-Shadow Word: Death combo earlier than turn 5 (I'm thinking all of the "big" decks, and sometimes against Keleseth Rogue). Pint-Size Potion has seen plenty of play lately as a way to clear high health minions and get these kinds of combos, and it only costs 1 mana. This being a 3 drop makes it feel more like an incredibly strong tech card than an auto-include.
*Not exactly a fair comparison with Mind Control since the high attack of the stolen minion is now paired with the low HP of Twilight Acolyte and fairly vulnerable to trades and AOE.
2/12 Deathwing says hello
Because I always was a good boy and my beloved class, Priest, was not top tier for years, to the point that I quit the game for nearly 1 year after they released Purify ...
I really really wanted ton convince myself to play paladin. But it seems that blizzard want me to tell me not to...
I`ve been trying to play paladin (non agro) since GvG. I can tell you its a waste of time (and I am still trying)
Dragon Paladin wasn't so bad before standard modes comes out, and it was more control than aggro. But I do agree that paladin is getting memer every expansions.
At least paladin isn't warlock tier. Cataclysm
In wild
Opponent plays Deathwing.
You laugh and play Twilight Acolyte, and Deathwing feels his strength leaving him.
Afterwards you play Vol'Jin and remove the life force from Deathwing.
The once mighty* dragon is now a merely 2/2 dragon that begs for a quick death which is pardoned with a holy smite.
Finish him!!! Use your smite on last 1 mana
Aldor Peacekeeper
I'm already love this card
Oh yeah? Tell that to my Stranglethorn Tiger.
Dragon priest comeback is REAL
dont forget about Book Wyrm
Time to change everybody's mind
damn that sucks..!
-snip-
Why is this 3 Mana two-of so much better than Vol'jin? I approve.
