posted a message on Is Prophet Velen a good card?

As of now an OTK Priest deck is lacking a good board clear.

All these people telling how Velen never was good are probably playing since BRM or smth.
There was a point (after Naxx) when the best deck was considered Miracle Rogue. And the best counter available (aside from killing them at ~turn6) was Handlock. At the time there were ~13 Priest players total because the winrate against Miracle and Handlock with a Control Priest was ~20%. And thats with us teching in Holy Fires and Mind Blast for reach.
In those dark times Velen was actually quite good because Velen+Mind Blast+Smite killed Jaraxxus and finished Miracle Rogue (bring the winrate to a whooping 35-40%).

TL;DR Velen is a combo card, not a priority unless you like things going "boom". Van Cleef is bad unless you are playing Miracle.

Hey Guys! This is my first time.... check my card....

I am thinking of maybe making it 8 mana for 6/7, what do you think?

    Check my entry=Elven Demon

So for 8 mana you get:
a 6/6 that summons a 5/5 that summons a 4/4 that summons a 3/3 that summons a 2/2 that summons a 1/1. So pretty much it is a 5turn clock unless silenced because nobody will go to the trouble of killing it 6 times to get rid off.
Admittedly it is very slow. But in Control matchups it is simply broken.

    @DialM4Murloc

    @layrit

Thanks both of you for the feedback! While I was away, I was wondering would this version be better and more favorable for Warlock

It offers synergy with awful, awful cards like Demonfuse, which NEVER see any play. With this card, may be they can finally be used?

It would be interesting. Against Druid it would be straight up broken. But this sort of card could push Felguard into viability.

I'm trying to think of something different. What does everyone think of this? The cycle ability is probably too powerful, but I'm trying to think of a better way to express it without making it a deathrattle.

This poor Dragon is probably in a deep depression. As soon as he enters play he commits suicide. You should probably reword it.

    Feedback would be appreciated.

It is actually balanced. For Rogue 1mana draw a card is very good, while the drawback keeps it in check.

Good day! First timer here, and this is my idea. Which version do you guys prefer? Are they balanced? Thank you!

The first version is definitely a no-go because it would breed way too fast.
    The second one seems reasonable.
P.S. You forgot a full stop at the end of the 2nd version.

I changed my submission stats and mana cost:

Now is a 7 mana 7/4 body, it got slower and weaker in health, now its more susceptible to trading and damage spells, however now he isn't that op anymore, since he can have a good result on the deathrattle, if he soaks a minion or a spell and summon a Deathwing as example it would be a win situation for you (but don't forget the 4% chance of summoning Twilight Whelp lol).

    Better ain't it?

     This looks better.

There is also a boss called the big bad wolf in wow.

Just search "wow tcg big bad wolf" in google and you will find it there.

I just checked it. Looks like a werewolf of sorts but thx for pointing it out.

If it can only target minions then it is alright.

Anyway, for this competition, I'll be attempting for a recurring spell theme - would be tough to balance, but appreciate the feedback! Here's the 2 cards that I have currently:

To gain maximum value, you have to play a Control game to outlast the opponent. I statted it at 6 mana on purpose because damage spells increasing twice a turn could be rather painful as a finisher. Which wordings do you all think will be better? For mechanics wise, I like the Shaman version better, because RNG happens and it could be less consistent.

Another idea would be a weapon that increases it's attack as it is destroyed. You know, like a Tentacle for Arms, except making it usable. :P

The spell you designed is very very slow but it wins Control matchups on its own.
A weapon like that would be hard to balance but it is interesting.

The problem with making it 2 mana is it would then be too similar to Eviscerate.  I don't think Emperor Thaurissan+Malygos+Throw Knife is too much of an issue. Once you get to a three-card combo, that's enough moving parts that it's okay to deal a lot of damage. It wouldn't be a OTK, after all.
Rogue simply should not be allowed to get another 1mana spell that deals damage from the balance point of view. It comboes way too well with Auctioneer and Malygos. And those decks are already good.

It took me some to come up with a reasonable idea. I figured out that the Big Bad Wolf would fit perfectly.

I like the one on the right better because it looks more like a Hearthstone card than the other one. I think I balanced it alright.

I'll greatly appreciate any feedback on the balance, art, wording or pretty much anything that can possibly be wrong. I'll try to give feedback to other submissions.

I tried real hard to find a better art (I can't unsee the half of what I've seen now =/) but I don't think I found anything I like more than I originally had. Probably I'm biased, so tell me if any of it is better.

The one on the left looks all sorts of wrong but gives the correct impression.

The one on the right looks alright. I am not sure.

Hey everyone! I was just wondering would this be valid for this week and what do you think about this card?

Hi, the card would be valid for this week's competition if the Murloc specifically dies and another Murloc joins your opponent's side.
Not sure about the balance on your card. Its a 3/5 for 3 (so +1hp over Twilight Elder) that summons a 3/5 for your opponent when it dies. It is extremely bad.
    Quote from Brainiac_BR >>

This is my Submission for this week:

I intendend to make a race specific Sneed's Old Shredder style card, then I got Nightbane.

My first thought was to put the 6 mana 5/5 body like Sylvanas Windrunner but looking for him now, and having calculated the probabilities (75% of good/excellent summon vs. 25% bad) I thing its way overpower, its like a Dragon Sylvanas that can summon Deathwings (8% chances since there are 2 of them!), Yseras, Malygos, and a lot of biggies 8/8s. Its seems ultra OP tempo card.

So I think in changing him a little, I have some options in my mind:

    1. Raise the mana cost to 7 (or more).
    2. Reduce the body to a 4 mana baseline (3/5 or 4/4)
    3. Reduce his body to 4/5 like Cairne Bloodhoof since he summons his son Bane and Nightbane would do something near to this but with more rng

    What you guys think?

I was trying to do the math and show a well-built arguement but I messed up, so here is a short version:
in its current state it is broken beyond belief. There are 9 out of 23 playable dragons that cost 8 or more. Nightbane can't be costed lower than 8. She should have aggressive stats (f.e. 7/5).

    Preeety good.

You replace Antique Healbot with Cult Apothecary and you're good to go.

It is even better now since Loatheb and Kezan Mystic are gone, new Eater of Secrets is garbage and Warriors play a lot of Pirate and Patron builds that you can simply crush if you play it right.

posted a message on Why do people ever play Elise in warrior mirrors?

Control Warrior is built to outlast the opponent, it runs tons of removal and health gain. It gains card advantage through weapons and playing lategame legendaries that often trade for several card of the opponent.

However in Control Mirrors all the lategame legendaries generally eat removal and die the turn they are played. It is not uncommon for a Control Warrior to end the game against other Control deck holding Shield Slam and Brawl and a bunch of card draw in hand. Elise lets you cycle all this garbage for minions. The fact that more than half legendaries are lategame minions is just icing on the cake.

In Control matchups you don't play the Monkey the turn you draw it. You sit, wait, gain value and card advantage through the cards you have.
