Before GvG I've built a reasonably good Mill Rogue that was featuring most of this cards and running Molten Giants. The point of Moltens was that if we give fuel to opponent he will punch us in the face thus activating Giants. It also worked increadibly against aggrodecks.

My current variation of Mill Rogue is severely lacking sustain. It needs A LOT of healing, x2 Sunfuries and a bit less Hunters on ladder.

Any ideas what would I cut for sustain? (the deck is similar apart from -2 Swords, +2 Moltens, -2 FoK, +1Blade Flurry, +1 Gnomish Inventor)

You can also win because of a 4/7 turn 2/3 or because you managed to draw many cards with circle in the begining of the game.

A 4/7 on turn 2/3 will take about 15 turns to kill an idle Priest. I don't see this working out THAT well.
If you drew many cards with Circle in the beginning you become VERY vulnerable to milling because you are in +3 to +8 cards from your opponent and chances are you will go to fatique wars because one Priest can barely kill another Priest.

yeah i agree with the OP... who has the most luck in thoughstealing (thoughtsteals) wins priest vs priest. UNLESS one is going for a beatdown, but priest is generally a reactive class, not the beatdowner.

There are 3 ways the game ends in PvP:
    1. One guy mills the other guy.
    2. One guys beats the other guy down (Tempo Priest/Midrange Priest beats down Control Priest)
    3. Control Priest stabilizes, runs opponent out of removal and wins on the back of one big shiny guy.

Thoughtsteal has VERY little influence on the match because ALL Priest decks have loads of defensive tools that help you stabilize (reactive cards) and utility cards (that don't possess any real threat) that don't really help you kill the other guy. (rather they help you not to die)

But..but tempo priest loses to control priest in my experience (unless you get lucky thoughtsteal, again). The more small-mid size minions you play, the more you lose to Auchenai/Circle.

The issue with trying to Thoughsteal smth good and beefy from Control Priest is that generally they don't run that much lategame. Sylvanas, a finisher (Velen/Ysera/Rag), sometimes MC. Sometimes they decide to curve higher and run Geddon and maybe +1 finisher. So those are 5 cards you WANT to take and there are 1 or 2 Thoughtsteals in Control Priest's deck that will give you the second chance to steal useful cards.
Generally banking on a 16% chance (~5/30, we have to take into account ALL the cards in the deck because we have no idea what are the cards opposing Priest is holding onto) loses you games (in 84% of situations).

On a sidenote: Why on earth would you run Thoughtsteal in your Tempo Priest deck? It is as close as it gets to pure tempo loss. With this archetype you HAVE to build and rebuild the board throughout the entire game (else opponent will just kill you *if he is the aggressor* or he will stabilize *if you are the aggressor*) thus making a 3mana tempo loss very significant. You'd rather run some cantrip cards that actually have bodies because they contribute to board state immediately.

P.S. Auchenai+Circle is generally GAME OVER for Tempo Priest because he won't be able to overwhelm the board again thus dragging the game into lategame and eventually dying.

Thoughtsteal in PvP is roughly an Arcane Intellect. If you are confident in your deck then it is worse than AI, if you believe opponent's is better - better than AI.

The only issue Thoughtsteal provides is that Priest can have far more than 2 copies of the card in mirror match. Thus counting cards becomes unimportant and the guy who mills the other guy generally wins.

You can always go the other road and try to beat the hell out of your opponent tho. Thoughtsteal doesn't help here.

Actually Hemet is awesome TECH card. Druids and Hunters overwhelm the meta? Screw them.

Mimron's Head is an unreliable finisher. When it works it should be very cute shiny and deadly.

    Flame Leviathan sucks...

Gazlowe is ONLY good if you are Shaman or run a full Spare part deck. I am not even sure he will proc if you decide to cycle all your parts via Sorcerer's Apprentice. His terrible stats make him VERY niche.

There were very few "good by themselves" legendaries in the expansion. Mostly they were filling niches and testing new mechanics. Out of neutral I'd personally craft Foe Reaper 4000 because I hate swarm decks and Shamans...

I am running a slow Mill Rogue with moderate success. It totally obliterates Handlocks, As a Priest player I feel some relief when I brutally slaughter those.
