thazud posted a message on My honest review of all cards in "The Boomsday Project".Posted in: Card DiscussionQuote from CypherBenkes >>"I feel like you look at the cards in a vacuum when each individual card goes in a deck with 29 other cards. Some of these reviews are just baffling in how shallow they consider much of how good a lot of the cards actually are.
At least you tried."
It's not disrespect that I wrote. If this is disrespect, his negative consideration of some of the cards is also disrespect, then. Good for you, you have an opinion of what I said in another thread. I just spent 5-6 hours reviewing the entire set near comprehensively. What have you done?
"At least you tried" is arrogant and degrading. It was also obvious that you managed to irritate the reviewer of that thread - and if it wasn't your intention where were your manners to apologize for the misunderstanding?
Any dimwit can review a Hearhstone expansion. You think too highly of yourself. -

KilogramHours posted a message on Community Expansion Design - Mechanics and Themes! For my first idea I've come up with the idea of Potions. They would be special 1-mana neutral spells that all classes can use. The difference from Spare Parts is that you can put these directly into your deck! Above are a couple examples.
Sink is a keyword that works similar to Battlecry. The effect occurs when you play the card, but you need to pay extra mana to get the effect. For example, Abyssal Seahorse is usually a 2/1 for 1 mana. However if you pay 1 more mana, indicated by the (1) next to sink, it will become a 2/3 for 2 mana! This new keyword allows for so much creativity.
When you play a minion with Sink two cards pop up like Choose One. But they are always the same for one exception.
Float is always the same, you choose it if you don't wanna use Sink. The Sink card always shows the effect "Sink" will have. Also its mana cost changes depending on how much the Sink costs. So the Sink card would actually cost 1 Mana for Abyssal Seahorse. You will not be able to select Sink if you do not have enough mana.

AngryChicken posted a message on Weekly Card Design Competition 3.07 [Submission Topic]This card is based on a Warrior attack in WoW that causes the target to bleed over a period of time. It synergizes with minions such as Acolyte of Pain, Frothing Berserker, Grim Patron, Gurubashi Berserker, etc. It also pops a pesky Divine Shield and then damages the minion to finish it off with an Execute.

Good in arena maybe? Idk
Yeah, it looks more fun than TGT. Nobody wants fun. -

hlary posted a message on That moment you introduce a face hunter to Reno JacksonPosted in: General DiscussionReno Jackson created a strategy that revolved around fully healing your hero in one turn without requiring any cards on the board.
Going face and trying to kill your opponent as fast as possible makes an overall game of Hearthstone more fun and compelling, but restoring 20+ health in one turn is not particularly fun or interactive. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

Class: Majora
Phase One here
Even when Skull Kid's cowardly Deku Scrubs desert the battlefield, they become ammunition for a powerful Octorok Shot! If that weren't enough to handle, one might also have to deal with a Big Leever. These minions compensate for their lack of a Weak Spot by burrowing underground as soon as they've escaped a battle - granting time to fully recover from it! Big Leevers wouldn't stand a chance if their enemy were to get their hands on a Giant's Mask though. It is said that one who wears the Giant's Mask might just stand a chance against a Legendary insect that lurks in an ancient canyon...
Remaining Cards:
Skull Kid's fairy companion uses Z-Target to help you find an enemy's weakness. Just make sure you've got the means to deal some serious damage before the weakness is concealed! Perhaps forming a Chu Chu Train will help with increasing your damage output.
>TOKEN>
Is your Chu Chu Train not quite as long as you'd like? The Great Fairy Mask can help - it soothes the nerves of Deku Scrubs and other inexperienced fighters. Be warned though, weaker minions will succumb to the impact of the Moon's Tear! Minions blessed with Wizzrobe's powerful magic are completely immune to the force of such meteorites.
No one is safe from Skull Kid's sorcery - not even the postman! This poor guy had his Postman's Hat stolen, and Skull Kid's been posing as him and pocketing mail ever since. Link's ocarina has found its way into the thieving hands of Skull Kid too. He almost laughs when playing the Song of Healing - it reminds him of Rexxar's obnoxious Animal Companions and the way they randomly appear on the battlefield when the hunter might've hoped for a different kind of beast. At least Skull Kid gets to choose the best time to cause mischief with masks - even if he needs a minion to play a prank on.

Class: Majora
Straight out of what might just be your favourite Legend of Zelda game - it’s Skull Kid! Under the spell of Majora’s Mask, Skull Kid controls an army of formidable minions, a few of which are invulnerable against any attack until their Weak Spot is revealed.
See below spoiler for more notes on Weak Spot!
Unless a minion has Charge, Weak Spot is a less powerful mechanic than Divine Shield in most cases. This is because Divine Shield must be removed if a minion is to be killed by taking damage. Minions with Weak Spot could be killed before the controlling player's next turn - in which case, it is as if the mechanic never took an actual effect.
Weak Spot is more powerful than Divine Shield in the rarer instance that it survives until the third turn of the controlling player (it is worth noting however, that a higher health total will generally see a minion stick to the board for longer). The Weak Spot minion will likely hit for two 'free' hits compared to the single one you get with a Divine Shield minion.
The above reasons, along with the attributes of currently playable minions with Divine Shield, will mostly determine how I balance Weak Spot minions.
Minions with a Weak Spot are among Skull Kid’s most valued when it is his turn to strike the enemy. To protect these minions, Skull Kid transforms innocent villagers into Deku Scrubs to stand between his strongest monsters and the enemy! Most Scrubs aren't very enthusiastic to stick around for a battle though…
Hero Power:
So what kind of minions are these Deku Scrubs assigned to protect? Skulltulas are among Skull Kid’s most common underlings but are not to be underestimated. During combat, the heads of these spiders are protected by a hard shell. From time to time though, Skulltulas exhibit a strange habit of exposing their weak belly…
Not all Deku Scrubs are doomed to perish for the sake of a big spider! Reluctant as they may be to serve Skull Kid’s cause, the Great Fairies of Termina battle alongside his minions in order to grant Deku Scrubs the magic power necessary to live another day. Weirdly, Zombie Chows have also been known to receive the fairies’ blessings…
Skull Kid has other hobbies aside from bringing about the apocalypse - he also loves collecting masks! He is less than careful with his Blast Mask however. If he has any luck, one of his minions with a Weak Spot will end up wearing the mask - and take no damage when it explodes!
Despite the powers of his various masks, Skull Kid ultimately plays to the strength of his minions rather than his spells. His Weak Spot minions, in particular, help him vie for control of the battlefield - none more so than his three Legendary champions...

I thought about having him discover a 7+ Attack minion but it's more fitting that an Epic minion discovers an Epic minion (eg. Molten Giant, Mountain Giant, etc.)

Pretty sure this is in line with Tracking and not Fel Reaver as the discard is from your own deck, but we'll see.

If people don't want to be attacked for their opinions, they need to write something that deserves a constructive response - in your example: "This deck isn't good or I'm not playing it right. Does someone mind adding and spectating me while I play it and tell me what I'm doing wrong?" is better than "This deck sucks". I'd never expect anyone to 'engage' a "this deck sucks" commenter - you're never going to engage that kind of person in a logical argument.

Class: Witch Doctor
Hero: Rastakhan
Mechanics: Deathrattle, Voodoo (Indirect Damage)
Phase One post: Here
When preparing for battle, Witch Doctors often craft complex potions. Whilst not considered to be the most epic of brews, the Shaka Brew adds tremendous potency to Witch Doctor powers:
The doctors may consume Shaka Brew before performing special rituals of sacrifice. Voodoo Spirits often volunteer to dissipate in the ceremonial flames, as no living Witch Doctor is actually ever keen to be burned alive:
Firebats flock to the battlefield in great numbers following a ritual of this kind.. only to have their souls sucked out of them by an apparently 'friendly' Witch Doctor.
Other Basic Cards (7):
A perfect candidate for a Jungle Remedy to help grow his adolescent mind.
Keep fewer allies and weapons around to avoid spirit walking into them.
Absorbed life mightn't be given to those who need it most.
A lot of battles can be won without aiming for the real enemy.
Witch Doctors hate the sound of silence.
Too weak to attack, some poisoned enemies clog up space for their allies.
Even if these don't register pain, the enemy "might feel a little tingle"...
To everyone who got me through to Phase II - thanks!!
