posted a message on Even Mage (Dragon version)

I found few problems when i created this deck and that was lack of cards. There isn't enough good even cards, let alone good even hero power cards, that could fill the deck. There are 3 versions of Even Mage decks that could be played: Highlander Even Mage, Dragon Even Mage and Elemental Even Mage.

With Highlander Even Mage i would have to sacrifice too much consistency (including one less Wildfire and one less Reckless Apprentice) who are staple in this deck, also this version of deck will be targeted by Bad Luck Albatross, card that will be played in most of the decks.

With Dragon Even Mage i was going with Frizz Kindleroost that would lower mana cost for most of the dragons in decks (number of good Dragons with even cost is very low, that is why there is such a low amount of them in a deck), however main target here is Coldarra Drake. If we buff hero power twice, then it will deal 3 damage. With lower costed Coldarra Drake and with 3 damage hero power, on turn 10 we could deal 21 damage to enemy face. There is even option of adding Conjure Mana Biscuit for saving the mana for possible OTK combo. I have added Book of Specters for two reasons. First reason is that we are running Starscryer with whom you want to target your Wildfire in the early game, however you need to have at least one more spell for targeting (in case you draw Wildfire). The second reason is that we need draw, especially when you use Frizz Kindleroost, you want to benefit as much as possible from lowered mana cost, it is true that you can discard Wildfire, however in deck of 30 cards that is low risk that we could take.

Lastly we have an Elemental Even Mage, which is maybe even better than Dragon Even Mage. There is a small package of spell power based even cards: Imprisoned Phoenix, Astromancer SolarianCosmic Anomaly and Cram Session. However for this group of cards to be effective, we need more spell cards, which is counter productive if we use Starscryer for early Wildfire. The other useful or semi useful Elemental cards are: PyrosConfection CycloneWater ElementalArcanosaurCircus AmalgamFantastic FirebirdRagnaros the FirelordPrimordial Protector, Tol'vir Stoneshaper and Grand Finale. It is interesting having combination of Primordial Protector and Grand Finale in a deck. Maybe there a way of playing like that , i am not sure yet. I don't think Even Mage will be meta for now or anything like that, it can't even come close to Darkglare Warlock level of power, however at least it is lifted from the ground. Now it just needs to wait for more even hero power support, but also for more good even cost dragons or elementals.

When it comes to Frost Giant, it has good synergy with Reckless Apprentice. If you go against aggro with full board you can lower Frost Giant really quickly. Unfortunately Frost Giant is not an elemental. That is wasted opportunity.

Old piece of advice from Dota 2: "If everything is broken, nothing is broken". That is state of wild in Hearthstone.

What is interesting to me, is that new Secret tech that we will get is odd costed (it is first useful odd costed tech against secrets). I am not sure how necessary it is, however i would like to add one or two in my Odd Warrior. It was already strong against Secret mage, however with increased consistency, you can farm them with ease. It is also strong against most of the aggro decks, which makes it perfect for farming the meta.

posted a message on Old Ysera's Card Pool Changes Coming Soon - With Dust Refund

Why would anyone use old Ysera over new one? Which deck currently use Ysera in wild? You should be grateful that you get new Ysera loaned for free and that you get dust refund for old Ysera so you can actually craft a card that is useful in wild.

posted a message on Spell Schools - Deckbuilding Got Buffed?
    Quote from PetiteMouche >>

Maybe in a couple of years.

In this expansion aside from a few support cards with "X spell school have Y bonus or effect" I don't see any layer being added to deck building.

Like you, I always liked the idea of thematic decks for example mages that only play fire, frost or arcane cards, but we aren't there yet in my opinion, there's a lot of synergy that needs to happen if they want people to play such decks.

For instance, Lightning bolt is a nature spell, lava burst is a fire spell. The new shaman legendary buffs nature spells. So you might think it's a good idea to play a lot of nature spells and not lava burst, but the reality is, this is a spell damage oriented deck and you need your lava bursts.

But we are headed in that direction, I suspect in a few years we will get Reno type cards that say "If your deck has only fire spells, do that"

I think that "Lava" or "Molten" cards in their name are actually "Nature" and not "Fire" spells. Mage have Fire, Frost and Arcane spells, however when it comes to Shaman...Shaman have only "Nature" spells. That is why Lightning bolt is "Nature" and not "Lightning" category. It is natural phenomena and as such it is classified as "Nature", just like cards which have "Lava" or "Molten" in their name. I didn't play WoW, so i don't know for sure. However this was my interpretation of it.

posted a message on Zeddy Hearthstone Needs a Slight Reality Check

I couldn't care less about Zeddy. He is insignificant person on YT, like all other Youtubers are. I couldn't care less about "racism" and "sexism" eighter, they are YOUR social problems (not mine) and there is no place for them in HS community.

However what connects all players, no matter if they come from Russia, China or USA is amount of gold we earn in the game. I don't like the route Blizzard is taking and they deserve all the backlash they currently get. If they don't respond to the wishes of players, we will burn game behind with low scores and leave it to the bootlickers who will continue to enjoy playing HS between 10 of them.

Online games are made for the players, not for companies who made them. The moment they betray players and lose playerbase....they are dead. It is players who dictate what and when, because without them, they can't do anything.

I personally don't respect enough my time, which is why i play still this game. However i also play few others beside this one and i don't feel "addicted" to the Hearthstone, as i once did. That is why i carefully follow every step made by Blizzard, because their decisions can tip the scales on one side or the other.
