Okay I discussed with the other mods and came to conclusion. To keep the rules consistent- The card itself needs to have a trigger. It cannot summon a token with trigger nor can it give a trigger.

Sorry for the confusion everyone. It's really rough to find a logical balanced restrictions for the theme of this competition.

I'll edit the rules. This will be the last rules edit for this comp. :)

    Quick question!

Is Mayor Noggenfogger a triggered ability? Since it technically triggers every time a target is attempted to be selected...

Considering how Mayor Noggenfogger is worded- I would not count this as a trigger. However if you write it as a trigger into your card text like "Whenever a minion attacks, it attacks a random character instead." then yes it would count as a trigger. You really want to make sure that the trigger on the card is clearly written out.
UGH. This is terrible logic. Mayor Noggenfogger is clearly a trigger card, as seen by his little lightning bolt. The formal logic of "All targets are chosen randomly" is identical to "When you choose a target, choose a new random target". This kind of grammar distinction may only exist in english for all we know, it might functionally disappear in a non latin language like Mandarin or Korean. Noggenfogger is VERY CLEARLY an "if X, then Y" effect. If you never choose a target, he never triggers.
I think this week's challenge is fine, but if we're going to police entries by the requirement that they have IF, WHEN, AFTER and other such direct conditionals, then we're just encouraging bad Style Guidelines. If I wanted to make a card like Noggenfogger but for spells only, I'd write it "All spell targets are chosen randomly" and not "When you choose a spell target, choose a random target instead". If this challenge actively encourages people to ignore previous syntax and style just to meet english grammar, then I think we're failing as game designers.
It does have a lighting bolt? Huh I had no idea tbh. I guess in that instance it would be allowed then. Mostly the reason why I said that it's better to have the triggers written out is that otherwise it can get confusing if the card even has a trigger, so it's for the rules sake tbh.

Here's my idea. I imagined this card back during the class competition when I was considering making an Alchemist class, but it makes sense as a priest card too.

What I'm unsure of, is how much it should heal and the mana cost. 2 mana 4 healing is a starting point, but I was considering a higher mana cost with more healing, like 6 mana heal 10, the idea being that you lose too much tempo if you keep having to play it.

Ummm, hate to say it, but this doesn't work. There is no trigger, its just infinite value without requirement.
It's similar to headcrack so it does qualify. It needs to be worded differently tho. "At the start of your next turn" or "At the end of the turn". At the end/start does count as a trigger.

Battlecry: If xxx, then back to your hand.

What about this? Although it's a Battlecry, it can be triggered many times.

I'm not a fan of a potential trigger being directly tied to a finite trigger. The thing is, unless the battlecry has an actual effect beyond the bounce, and not just a condition that is effectively just making the card unplayable under certain restriction, it doesn't work.
Yeah actually I think so too. Lets just keep Battlecry triggers and Deathrattle triggers out of this comp as triggers all together, otherwise it gets too complicated what is a multi-trigger and what's not etc. So deathrattle and battlecry minions that bounce minions back are not allowed.
I'm fine with minions that have battlecries, and return effects, as long as the return effect is not tied to the battlecry. Much like Fallen Piano's card on the first page.
Yep that's what I was getting at :D

    too strong?

Again the card itself has to have a trigger not give minion a trigger :D but overall yes it would be too strong imo.

Is it ok to submit a spell card that gives a minion a triggered effect? Like Blessing of Wisdom.

The card itself needs to have a trigger, so a card that give another minion a trigger would not count.

Well, I made this idea JUST before to see this thread.

    How it seems?

This is meant for Quest-Druid or Late Game Druid, since commonly Late-Game druids don´t commonly have early drops more than Tortolian Forager, so this is meant to curve early game or a good drop for playing other things, still not sure about the stats.

PD: I can´t copy+paste images in this post, idk why it doesn´t allows me :v

Copy and paste doesn't work, you have to click on the 5th option from the right in the editor and put the link to the card there. (Hosted on i.e. Imgur) make sure you're not taking the image link directly from Hearthcards for submission, otherwise your entry will be disqualified.

Inspire effects qualify by default, right?

Odinson hasn't clarified that but since the keyword is "Whenever you use your hero power" then yeah Inspire would count as a trigger.

Would this card be considered a valid entry, given that it has a Battlecry and a triggered effect? (the idea being that the character loves spreading rumors, but disappears when the shit actually hits the fan)

Yup that is a valid entry!

This is the Discussion Topic. The Submission Topic is here.

     Competition Theme: Triggered

This weeks theme comes from The_Odinson whose "Aimed Shot" was the winner of our "Premeditated" competition.

    Competition-Specific Restrictions:

Hearthstone is a game many of us have a love/hate relationship with. Sometimes the things Blizzard does to the game just really make our blood boil, you know. We just get TRIGGERED! Well, this week instead of raging about the new Rogue Quest, you can focus that energy in a creative way.

    • Your goal this week is to create a card with a Triggered effect. That means it must use the word(s); 'If', 'When(ever)', 'After', 'At the start', or 'At the end'. These words signal a Trigger.
    • Additionally the effect may not be a one use Trigger, and must be something that occurs any time the condition is met. This means no Battlecry, Deathrattle, Secrets, or Quest cards, as these aren't multi-use triggers.
    • Also your card cannot give a minion a trigger effect, like Blessing of Wisdom, as they give triggers and do not have a trigger themselves. The card itself needs to have a trigger. It cannot summon a token with trigger nor can it give trigger to a minion.
    • While minions are indeed the most obvious examples, with cards like Knife Juggler, Ragnaros the Firelord, Knight of the Wild, Swamp King Dred, Frozen Crusher, Nat Pagle, Nerubian ProphetBolvar Fordragon.  There is really only one spell currently that uses this sort of mechanic however, Headcrack, but that does leave lots of run for growth.
    • Also remember that static abilities, like Baron Rivendare, Brann Bronzebeard, and Nozdormu aren't triggers. Also, cards like the Giants, or Everyfin is Awesome, with fluctuating costs don't count as these aren't 'multi-use' triggers.

     Competition Process

Preview Phase (Starts Now! Ends 20:00 UTC 13/April/2017)
During this Phase, the Discussion Topic is made available, previewing this week's competition theme.
Entry and Early Voting Phase (Starts 20:00 UTC 13/April/2017, Ends 19:00 UTC 17/April/2017)
During this Phase, the Submission Topic is made available for your submissions. You may also, of course, feel free to give early up-votes to any submissions that you like!
Voting Phase (Starts 19:00 UTC 17/April/2017, Ends 19:00 UTC 18/April/2017)
During this Phase, the Submission Topic will be locked, so no more entries may be submitted. Instead, use this time to browse the submissions and up-vote your favorites!
Final Phase (Starts 20:00 UTC 18/April/2017, Ends 20:00 UTC 19/April/2017)
During this Phase, the Discussion Topic will also be locked, and a new Poll Topic will go up. Discussion will be allowed to continue in the Poll Topic, and it will also include all the qualifying finalists and poll to decide the winner of the competition!

    Discussion Topic Rules

To make sure that everything runs smoothly, we need to reserve the Submission Topic for submissions only. Everything else goes here. What is everything else, you might ask?

    • Rules or Process. Do you have a question about the competition's process? Do you need clarification about one of the entry requirements? Are you not sure whether your entry adhered to the rules? Ask here!
    • Feedback or Ideas. Do you have some ideas you'd like to run by others before settling on one? Do you need help balancing or wording your entry? Do you need help finding art that will fit your card? Or do you just want feedback from the community on your entry? You're in the right place! Remember, although you are allowed to make minor tweaks to your entry after you've submitted it, you're only allowed one submission per week, so make sure that you've settled on your card for sure beforehand.
    • Discussion! Do you have thoughts on other people's entries? Are there directions you don't like that you're seeing too many people take? Or directions you'd like to see more people take? Would you like to help others and contribute to a greater community understanding of Hearthstone card design and balance? This is where you want to be!

All of that said, please refrain from the following:

    • Posting TONS of Ideas. Discussion topics become an absolute mess if everybody is posting a dozen different ideas. Please post not more than 3 distinct ideas at a time. Any more than that and we'll have to delete your post.
    • Advertising Your Entry. Please don't pop in here just to advertise your entry only to never be heard from again. This includes only asking short, generic, or insincere questions like "Thoughts?" or "Do you think this is interesting?". Yes, getting feedback on your entry is one of the purposes of this topic, but we're not just here for other people to help you. We're here for you all to help each other. 12 hours after this competition begins, there should be plenty of other posts here for you to give specific feedback or for you to comment on a trend. If you post your entry for feedback after this time and do not also offer some form of substantial commentary, critique, or praise of others' work, you may find your post deleted.
    • Plagiarism. Many people post their ideas here before finalizing them in the submission topic. Directly plagiarizing those ideas to post in the submission topic yourself is absolutely not acceptable.

So, without further ado, have fun and get creating!

Here is what I was kicking around when it occurred to me I might be violating the rules.

Does Harth fall under the restriction for previously unplayable NPC's?

... or more importantly, would my submission be disqualified?

The character has to be a playable hero or a collectible legendary minion to qualify. Hart Stonebrew/ the Innkeeper currently does not exist in hearthstone as a playable collectible hero/legendary. So this entry would not qualify.
